Man Wanted For Escorting Prostitute, Stealing Money Drives Over Officer's Foot.

MILFORD (CBS) — A Rhode Island man wanted for escorting a prostitute and stealing money from her clients drove over a detective's foot while trying to flee police, authorities say.
Xxxxx Xxxxx, 28, was allegedly escorting Milford woman Xxxxx Xxxxxx, who Milford police say was advertising as a prostitute online and stealing money from the men she met.
Police said the pair planned to steal money for the fourth time Monday when they were foiled by an undercover officer.
Xxxxx fled the scene as police approached, driving directly at an officer who tried to stop him, Milford police said. He was caught about a half-mile away after abandoning his car and taking off on foot.
Xxxxx faces several charges including assault to murder and conspiracy.
Xxxxxx, 24, is charged with sexual conduct for a fee and conspiracy.

Doesn't fit the usual profile for these establishments. Also a poster on the MP thread questioned why there was still a craigslist ad up the day after the arrests. Many times the CL and BP ads are paid for well in advance and keep running a while after the place closes. And / or, sometimes arrests of individuals that work at a spa do not always result in the permanent closing of the spa. Not sure what the situation is there, but I would imagine these places will be shut down.

When they put one over by the apartment building by Cary and Washington Ave where all the girls were staying they had a big sign saying they were recording. Does anyone even have one example of a sting that involved outcall? I tried to find such an example but could not.
It seems to me that the authorities love to use backpage and craigslist to set up at a motel or hotel and then arrest 6+ people, but outcall is too inefficient for them.

It would seem to me that it would create a better case of entrapment as compared to incall. It would be harder for LEO to explain how they knocked on your door soliciting sex.

They wouldn't know the layout of the building they are entering or have control of the area. What if its some nut that is armed with a stash of guns or worse? Then you have a cop as a hostage or dead. With the incall they get cameras set up, can watch their suspect approach and enter the building and plan how and where the back up comes from.

Think about it. If the only thing the officers have is the testimony of a druggy escort and the silence of a respected white-collar or blue-collar citizen, who do you think the jury is going to believe? All you need is reasonable doubt.
The second that you open your mouth and start answering questions, you are effectively testifying against yourself. Law enforcement officers will report all of the damning things that you said and will not repeat any of the exculpatory statements that you make. Officers care about convictions. They don't care if you said something that could clear your name. All they care about is putting people behind bars and ensuring that criminals are convicted.
