Since all the important posts (to us at least) on CL get flagged, I was looking for a cache service online but came up with nothing. Being a web developer, I thought, hey... Why not build my own cache service!

Thanks for the support guys. I've got a lot of requests for access to the system and a couple questions.

1) Will I spam you or charge for the service? NO. I plan to accept voluntary donations through PayPal to continue support for the project once launched.

2) Will older past posts be cached? No point, I'll go back a couple days to start off with but have no limit as to how long the posts will remain cached. Depending on resources and whatnot.

3) Will the service be public? Not at the moment. Not sure of any legal issues that might come up but possibly in the future.

The system will have several unique features which will make it valuable. Briefly:

1) Most importantly, all posts will be cached even if they become flagged in the future or right away. Giving mongers an edge in contacting for services. There will be a status field which states the most updated status of a particular post so you can easily filter through all posts that have been flagged or deleted by the user etc.

2) Cache multiple versions of the same post. All post revisions (renews) will be cached and grouped so you'll have a history of how a particular post is being modified (including all photos). Even if a post gets flagged or deleted, the anonymous email remains active for a while which will also be cached so you can continue to contact the person.

3) Ability to subscribe to a particular post so if it's renewed / updated, you will be emailed with a link to the updated post (this feature will come later). Unfortunately there's no way to subscribe to an account since CL is anonymous in that sense.

3) A photo browser: Be able to browse through all photos that have been posted where by clicking a particular photo takes you to the post that photo was originally posted in AND lists any other posts (related or unrelated) that the particular photo has been used in. This can be useful in identifying photos spammers use for different posts as well as quickly finding posts you'd be interested in.

The project is coming along. Didn't have much time to work on it this week but will continue and give status updates. Happy hunting.
