"I'm A Fool To Want You"
As a monger who happens to love to play jazz standards from the Great American Song Book everyday, I came across this standard and it always makes me chuckle as I think about my favorite AMP girl and how many times I've had to wait to see her, while another monger is doing her --I've heard the moans and groans of a good time being had by all:
I'm a Fool to Want You -- by Frank Sinatra, Jack Wolfe
and Joel Herron 1951
I'm a fool to want you. I'm a fool to want you.
To want a love that can't be true, A love that's there
for others too.
I'm a fool to hold you, such a fool to hold you,
To seek a kiss not mine a-lone, to share a kiss the dev-il has known.
Time and time a-gain, I said I'd leave you,
Time and time a-gain, I went a-way.
But then would come the time when I would need you,
and once a-gain these words I'd have to say:
I'm a fool to want you, pity me, I need you,
I know it's wrong, it must be wrong, But right or wrong
I can't get a-long with-out you.
