I'm here bring you a live report from Rocky Point Mexico, or Puerto Penasco as its known here.

Left Phoenix at about 9 AM, got here around 12:30 with a few stops along the way. Room check in at the Sonoran Sun Resort isn't until 4 PM so I knew I would have to kill a few hours (gee however could I fill the time?). He said the cops gets paid more by the businesses not to fuck with and look out for people and the business owners own the cops here. My other friends come here a few times a year for the last 10 years never had an issue. Dead bodies outside of town? I don't know. They find dead bodies in Phoenix and in the desert where I live all the time too.

Once you hit the border, you go thru one town and then there is a long stretch of road with almost nothing until you hit Peurto Penasco, about an hour drive. It was a much more pleasant drive than going from Los Angeles to Tijuana which is a nightmare They even have signs all along the road, in English, that says "Hassle Free Driving". Meaning the cops won't hassle you on this road.
