Spaceman, you are correct. I had the same thoughts when I read that post. And I agree with your analysis. Many of these girls, if not most, are very sweet, kind-hearted people. And, despite the fact that they may lack the education, English language skills, or other job skills to find other (to American sensibilities, less dubious) work, are honest women and of high moral character. The simple fact is that they can make more money in less time than any other job they could do. And, of course, there is no need to pay taxes on the income.
But beyond the basic honesty of the girls, it is a good idea to have a few extra dollars and there is no reason not to.

After reading a lot of preparation material (guides, posts, others' experiences) I tried VIP out. It was my first time at a massage parlor and I was pretty excited. Without going into too much detail (not sure what all is a good idea to post) I had a great experience. I was not looking for FS as that doesn't really interest me atm. I was just looking for a HJ. I agree with most of what DOG wrote below, but I would demur about the "valuables bag".
In my experience, AMP girls are scrupulously honest (setting aside the necessary-for-business stuff like lying to cops). I have never had any problem with leaving my stuff in the room, and I think it would be off-putting to some of the girls as a trust issue. (Of course, if the girl specifically requests I use the bag I do).
Would I say this about an "American" operation? No way! But AMP girls generally aren't "damaged" and don't see themselves as sinners and scum-of-the-earth. They might not love the job, but it's like being a garbage-man. There's nothing wrong with it even though you hope to do better someday.
Also,"thank you" is a simple phrase that can go a long way if you use it often at the various stages of your session.

My experience at VIP's was with an older woman. A previous post about NE also states the massage was with a younger lady. I had the same experience. She wasn't young and perky but not bad. I paid a visit yesterday and met June at the door. Apparently there were only two providers on duty, besides June, who does not take clients from what I gather. It is ran by someone different and is an actual massage not some crazy bed massage. I stopped in yesterday and had a very nice massage with the special price of. 70 for the hour 10 off for the opening special plus. 40 for the tip. The service was good and I left happy.

Anyone Try this place out yet? Royal Massage on Rushmore Road I see they are advertising under the body rub secion now but I have not been able to get by. I went last night. Ok place but the cameras are unsettling. There is a night vision camera outside the front door and another in the lobby. No line up even though there were two girls. I am New to the AMP scene and I am unsure as to the protocols when going to one. I am a student who spends most of their time in the books so little time to interact in social gatherings and to maintain a relationship. Bar scenes are too doubter productive to studies and are usually a waste other than a good buzz.
Just like the idea of being able to fit in time without being disappointed. However, being a student at the I am on a budget.

Thanks for the links and advice. I've seen a lot of statements but most seemed a little beyond real advice. These links are more grounded and sensible. Being a newbie has the whole uncertainty factor involved when going which I am sure they sense and I am a nice guy who isn't too forward or bold with the ladies so that probably will raise the wariness.
I'll go through the material and hopefully increase the satisfaction level of the visitations.

Tired the NE again today. I have been there before but ended up with BeBe and that's not much fun.

I paid a visit to NE on a slow Saturday afternoon. They have two new providers and I took a session with one of them. Others have left. They seem to keep it to three at any time. It was, as always at NE, excellent service, a nice table shower, very good massage, and very attentive service.
I noticed these girls have been through Columbia a few times and decided to try them out since they were located in a decent area. I paid $ for the 45 min session with one of the asian girls. She was young and dressed in some sexy lingerie when I entered and explained to me that it would be another. 5 or $ for upgrades depending on what I wanted. I paid the extra $ for the upgrade and thought it would be well worth it to see this girls smoking hot body. The rub was less than mediocre and lasted all of about 15 min on the back and 5 min on the front. She finally took off her top when she was getting ready for the finish. The finish was very ok but nothing great by far. The told me to get dressed and that was it $$ spend and out the door in 26 min when I paid for a 45 min session. Decided to try Green Tea Spa for myself. There was no table shower or sauna just a massage. Very good massage with light brushing but nothing more. I am sure there are no extras here.

Dropped by NE after being away for a while and hearing of some new ladies there. Was pleasantly supprised to find a very nice new provider on hand, shorter slim lady with a happy smile and good english, easy to talk with. My suprise was in finding a return to the old polite friendly attitude, taking time to make the customer's visit a special time. Started with the steam sauna, on to TS and a short visit to the dry sauna and then to one of NE's very private rooms for a quite good massage, firm and deep like I enjoy but with a playfull attitude and excellent ending. Guy's, it is important to note here that repeat visits and getting to know the mama so that she clues the new ladies that you are a regular is the way to a happier visit. All in all a very nice visit, NE is still the top place in the Columbia area for AMP service.

After the recent reports about some promising younger providers at NE, I figured I would check it out. I used to visit the place fairly often, but I have not been there in a really long time. Unfortunately, what followed was one of my worst AMP visits ever, and definitely my worst visit to NE at the new location or old location.
After being taken back, I waited on the table for over 20 minutes, with nothing happening. Seriously, if you're busy, just say you're busy. Maybe I could come back later. But don't leave me waiting on the fucking table, forever. Finally, I got up, got dressed and headed out for the office / kitchen to tell MMS I was leaving. She begged me to say and told me that someone would take care of me right away. That someone was Oi or Oy, who appeared to be in her early 50s or so. She looked more like a MMS than a provider. I should have just left, honestly.
Anyway, Oi gave me a decent rub, but with too much oil. Plus, she really messed up my hair. No teasing, no touching of anything, and no extras offered. All in all, a terrible visit. Just fucking terrible.
I'm not sure whether I will ever go back. On one hand, it can't really get any worse. On the other hand, why give them another chance? NE was always a reliable, if not exciting, place to visit. WTF has happened to them?

I recently paid another visit to Victoria's. Although not a completely terrible place, the value is simply not there. I'm not going to speak for anyone else, but I can easily pick up, for free, girls who are younger, thinner and far better-looking than the girls I have seen at Victoria's. I have a hard time understanding why anyone would pay good money for what one receives at Victoria's. There will be no repeat visit for me.

Been there 4-5x over the course of 3 years which is enough for them not to remember me and be considered a regular. I wouldn't feel too special as I had a full menu every time. Ok. Since I have raved about Serenity, I thought I needed to include this bad dream. There was a very good dream, so I had very high expectations. I should have walked away, but I didn't. I was met at the door by a different lady than normal. I asked for my normal provider. After a long pause, she came in hugged me, groped me and rubbed her body against mine. I thought this was going to be even better than the last AMAZING dream. No I did not post about that one. The other two ladies seemed to be in the next room which may have been the reason for the bad dream, but I don't think so. Great massage, but she didn't allow touching this time. I've been to Serenity 4 times. First 3 were fun. Different people each time, but a good massage and some fun. This last time was weird. Met at the door by a woman that was obviously sick. Sounds like you did your homework on the procedures, just be sure to also notice the regulars are ones who have built up a trust over several visits and over a period of time. Most first visits follow similar paths as yours, especially if you are young in appearance so do not be dismayed. Put in your "dues" and you will likely be rewarded with a fuller experience. Get to know mama, not necessarily the providers as they rotate in and out.

I haven't been to Lotus since the ads, but I drive by that way fairly often, and can say there has been zero construction there, meaning the inside is likely just as you (and I) recall it.

I think some tech guy is up dating the look of these ads for the internet. Adding new and re-grand opening. It's an advertising cheap trick to.

Has anyone tried out life spa yet? Looking for a new place to check out.I think they may be connected with Tao Rivers, at least they have the same music tape with a "beautiful music" version of The Carpenters "Yesterday Once More" and the asian singer singing "500 Miles" (If you miss the train I'm on, you will know that I am gone).
No table shower. $60/60 min. I got a reasonably cute Chinese girl, who gave a good legit massage. There were bare hints of a tease towards my unit a few times, but nothing that wasn't deniable. So -- no hand shake, just a good massage.
My experience with the Chinese places is that once they know you, you may get a bit more tease, and eventually, in some (but not all!) cases a handshake.

Finally tried Serenity last week. Arrived mid afternoon and only 1 other car there. First off this place is nice new and clean. Met by cute older Asian who was very polite and attentive. I was led to room and was told the TS was busy, I undressed and got a 10 min rub while I waited. TS was nice and attention to the right areas. Led to the room where she dimmed the lights and I received a really good relaxing rub. At the end she gave me a nice ass massage with lots of attention to that and other areas. Been out of "the game" for a few years and after a few changes, hitting up AMP's again. Found myself in Columbia and decided to check out what everyone's been talking about with Serenity.
Went by shortly after opening and was met by a short woman; older, a little thick (not fat, but...), and nice. Shown the room, paid, undressed, and into the TS. Very thorough (I was definitely clean when I got out of that room) and even a little aggressive on the 'exit portal'.
Back in, on the table and she did a decent job with the rub for an AMP. Focused on the back, arm, and shoulders. When working my lower back, she climbed over my head and basically rubbed herself on the back of my head. Oh to be flipped over...
She worked on my legs a little, but nothing really. After that, she began with the taint and the boys while on my stomach; my butt up a little as she pulled. Parking and spa entrance are both in the rear parking lot of a general office building. Not only is everything well-hidden from the street but it's also not very obvious why your car is turning into the lot in the first place. No one even sees you getting out of your vehicle and walking into the AMP; no one sees you leaving, either. You can definitely stay under the radar there.

It appears to me that Best Massage on Saint Andrews Road near Broad River Road is closed.
Perhaps this is a one off thing, but it was well within hours and not any kind of holiday.
I have had some good times there over the years though I have not stopped by recently.

Went here Sunday afternoon and saw Mary a Chinese lady who is in her mid to late 30's. They have gone to the dark side! Everything about this massage was good including the TS. I was growing tried of the mostly older Korean ladies around the area. There's no mistaken me for LEO. YMMV.
