I could accept a misdemeanor, but I'd fight using all my finances to avoid a felony as it affects my future employment. I'd mortgage my house. I'd do everything to delay and extend. TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A couple's honeymoon was cut short this summer after the husband left his new wife to solicit a prostitute, authorities in Florida said.
The suspect, a 34-year-old male, was among the 176 people arrested for alleged sex crimes following a months long prostitution sting in Hillsborough County, according to Sheriff Chad Chronister.
During his honeymoon, the man answered an ad from an undercover detective posing as a prostitute, Chronister said Thursday at a news conference.
"He got married. He got married and he was on his honeymoon," Sheriff Chronister said. "His new bride falls asleep, and he decides he's going to respond to an ad that one of our undercover officers had placed to go have sex that evening. So he leaves, and comes to the hotel and wishes to purchase sex."
Chronister said the man was arrested "immediately."
"I know we all probably have questions about how long this marriage lasted, but I think the only question here, with it ending so quickly, as a wedding guest — was it too late to get the gifts that they gave returned back to them?" Chronister said.

The investigation, which netted 176 arrests in total, was launched in April by deputies within the Human Trafficking Squad of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The squad focused its investigation on men soliciting adult prostitutes and also those looking for sex with underage victims. "We believe these two individuals, these two men are responsible for trafficking many more women," Chronister said. "I'm not able to say more without jeopardizing it the investigation.
The teens, ages 16 and 17, were taken into protective custody and will be reunited with their parents. All three suspects were arrested, Chronister said.

I have not read this professor's work but I have read others. Most academics writing about sex work, much like sex worker activists, argue for decriminalization of the profession. Decriminalizing would actually solve the problems LE claim to address with their tactics, which most studies show that LE only make things worse. Things like trafficking, under age shit, pimping, abuse of working women (and other working people), etc are all reduced in decriminalizing. Example: How does fining working women and giving them a record helps them leave the profession when their records make less hirable and more in need of quick money? I could go on and on with these questions. The USA, however, is wrapped up in moralization and politicians (many of which partake in sex working services) use the moral outrage to get in or stay in office.

I've used two K-services before. One of them allowed me to see without a license, but they did initially ask for one. I was getting my oil changed today, dropped it off and walked around. That shopping center is right next to a bunch of car shops, so was just walking around. The spa above the aloha bar was closed or not answering the door. Walked around a little more and there it was next to the WIC office back in the corner. I was just there today. (Wed 6/4) Still in business so not much of a bust.
