The victim, a 51-year-old black male, says a man walked up to his vehicle at 19th and Bissell Streets and pointed a gun at him. He got out and the thief drove off in his 2017 Ford Fiesta.
He called police around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after it happened and admitted he was trying to solicit a prostitute.
Police describe the suspect as a Black male, about 40- to 45-years-old, 58 to 510, thin build, beard, wearing a grey hooded jacket and grey pants.
Police say the victim was not injured and an investigation is underway.

I strongly suspect all subjects discussed rates for services, and showed up at a location, and very well might have submitted payment and then taken onto custody. While not impossible, it would take a tremendous amount of police work to obtain search warrants for each phone number, identify, locate then arrest each subject, especially considering it is a lower level crime. I think they would be overwhelmed with texts messages and calls, so they would have to figure out a way to make the Best cases possible. I am confident more then 11 perverts contacted a stg and. The highway patrol doesn't stop everyone they can for speeding, that would not be effective use of man power. They have thresholds. Also all the men seemed to be local to the area (just a observation). It would be far more effective for the Police to post a ad, give a location and then arrest everyone who shows up. I had breakfast this morning with another Viet Nam vet who got busted in St Charles last night. If we weren't close I doubt if he would have said anything to me. He was on List Crawler and a woman posted 120 for a half hour she was at the Drury Inn. He made some rookie mistakes, but he isn't what you could call a monger. The posting was pretty new, just a couple of days old, no reviews, and 120 is way too cheap for the Drury Inn. They released him. Probably pending application of warrant, and said the prosecutors office would be in touch in 5 or 6 months.
He doesn't know if he needs to go see a lawyer, wait until he sees what comes down in the spring, or what. The guy has had a rough time of things in the last decade or so. He had a mental breakdown about 10 years ago, was suicidal, got through that--probably the only reason he didn't do himself in was he had a good relationship with his wife, but she died a couple of years ago, and he is all alone--no kids or family. I'm a bit worried about the guy that he might just say to hell with it and cash out. Those thoughts have never been very far from his mind. I asked him to call the veterans hot line to get a little help before he goes too far, and it turns out it was for nothing..Here's the post from the General section referenced earlier. If you were part of this and not charged, go find an attorney just to be safe.

Also, the 'found & arrested' part is a little general. Common sense tells me that LEO would not risk tracking someone down for something minor like this. They would do it old school & get a room (where THEY are in control of the environment), set up some cameras (making prosecution go smooth), & request people come to them. Keep it simple.
Did find out that one of the arrested is a district manager for a well known, national bank. Looks like there might be a job opening soon! (Turns out the company sent a memo about the ordeal.) What a stupid way to get a day off! "Hi, I'm not going to be able to make it into work tomorrow as I was just arrested for prostitution. " Seems a grey area letting your employer know WHY you were arrested. (Then of course immediate damage control! Mass district email to hundreds of employees. WOW.).

KS.The Polk County sheriff can be found on youtube doing videos like this. He has done news conferences on cops that get busted in his county and anyone else of notoriety. He does not have a problem putting a blown up copy of your booking picture on display. There were a lot of red flags that most mongers have pointed out. The most obvious one is that no escort I know will say that money is for a sexual act, especially a specific one. That money is for your time and anything that occurs between two consenting adults is between us. Always lead with that or leave if she says otherwise.

Nobody ever suspected a thing.Lots of great comments about how LEO operates, but basically, they do their best to entrap you into admitting why you are visiting an advertising escort. Some initial red flags, the text message from a LEO provider will always seek to obtain some form of commitment of money for sexual service. This might be as simple as bring a condom. Same scenario in the room, if the LEO provider is unable to coerce you into saying give me sex (in any form. Even touching private parts meets this requirement), the next question will be did you bring a condom. You say yes, no, or I thought you would provide condoms, and you just committed to sex. The answer should be, Why do I need a condom? And then leave. Neither you or the provider needs to know the status of a condom during the first few minutes of a visit.
Some advice, beyond just biting the bullet and paying for highly reviewed providers with endless reviews (still not a 100% guarantee), ask to open any closed door in the given room (bathroom is a given but I'd also suggest the closet). Never undress first, make the provider show you at least part of her naked body or remover her clothes to under garments. If any issues arise from these requests, leave! Just say you forgot your phone in the car and you need to be reachable because someone is in the hospital (etc.) You don't need a huge story, you just need to get your phone. If LEO stops you outside the door, in the lobby or parking lot, say you felt the situation was inappropriate and you had not interest in violating the law.
A good sign, a legit provider will open the door, usually stand behind it, wearing see through garments or be partially or fully naked.
If everything seems okay at this point (this might happen if a legit provider allow for the checks and is naked, but is being coerced by LEO to assist them for leniency on a prior incident), LEO comes into the room, arrests you, no matter what, do not sign anything (they will try to have you "acknowledge" why you are being charged for solicitation. Don't fall far their game of acknowledging anything. That just means you agree with their report of you soliciting, and do not admit to anything verbally. I was here for a cheap massage. "Cheap" is a relative term, meaning anything less than $200 for a massage is less expensive than a massage at any hotel spa.
As for being arrested and taken to jail, picture on a poster, website, or tv, this is the decision of the officer in charge of the sting operation. Most likely, they will not give you a ride if you do not admit to anything and have not incriminated yourself on a text or on video while in the room. By the way, a video camera will likely be hidden in a pile of clothes during a sting in order to both watch you and provide protection to the LEO provider.
If you are charged, irrespective if you made a mistake by deviating from the suggestions above, it's yes sir, no sir, I don't know sir, but then get a lawyer, probably $500 in fees, but don't waste your time trying to plead with LEO. They think you are a dirt ball and don't care about your story (destroy my family, how important you are in the community, cannot afford a lawyer, etc.) and during your wining you will likely just incriminate yourself.
Lastly, just remember two things - 1. LEO will blatantly lie to you in text messages without any retribution on your end. 2. Having some disclaimer like- you and I both agree we are meeting as two new friends, or payment is strictly for your (my) time, and anything additional is between two consenting adults is not going to protect you from a LEO sting operation.

What jury or probably even a judge, if it was tried that way, is going to convict a consenting adult for paying for sex with another consenting adult, and have it be a felony on their record? The court system can't handle the caseloads as it is, and as politically pleasing as this proposal is to certain elements in Jefferson City, I just don't see this as a high priority issue, even in an election year.
