Four women face prostitution-related charges following an undercover police investigation into a massage parlor in Harrison Township.
The inquiry began after the Macomb County Sheriff's Office received anonymous tips last November that employees of Sun Chinese Spa, 36675 Jefferson Avenue, offered to perform sex acts for male patrons.
The Sheriff's Special Enforcement Team learned the business was advertising for customers on a well-known website. After surveillance and visits by undercover detectives to the business, police raided the spa on Jan. 14.
Police arrested five female employees, seized business records and shut down the facility, Sheriff's Lt. John Michalke said.
The suspects are identified as XXXXXXXX, 49; XXXXXXXX, 44; XXXXXXXX, 26; and 51-year-old XXXXXXXX, all of Harrison Township. They were arraigned Tuesday in 41 B District Court on charges of using a computer to commit a crime, maintaining a house of prostitution, and accosting and soliciting. Each of the women is in the Macomb County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or surety bond.
The four suspects are scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing Jan. 27.
Mei is illegally in the United States, police said. The immigration status of her co-defendants was not immediately known.
Investigators believe one of the arrested woman resides in an apartment in the township. The other three resided in the same building where the massage parlor is located.
The fifth arrested woman, whose name was not disclosed by police, was released after police learned she had just arrived in Michigan on the same day police conducted a search of the business.
The owner of the spa, identified by police only as a Westland woman, was not in the spa at the time of the raid and has not been criminally charged, Michalke said.
"There's still some investigation into the ownership and the immigration status," he said.
In May 2015, the owner of Washington Wellness Spa in Washington Township was found guilty of running a house of prostitution. Two workers at the spa were arrested on prostitution charges.

A "friend" of mine that works closely with the Macomb County Sheriff clued me in on this last week and said that many car descriptions and license plate numbers have been gathered over the last few weeks when they (LEO) were first informed of the illegal activity going on here. This place is literally a few hundred feet from a school administrative building and other school related buildings. I'm surprised it took this long. I drive by this place all the time but would never think of stopping in due to the location and where I reside. Hope all goes well for everyone, stay safe. BTW, I tried posting this around 11 am today but it would not post.

"I did not take part in any type of rape, armed, robbery. Anything," Anderson said. "Everything she put on the news is all a lie and how she says we came to Walgreens and robbed her. I never raped nobody. ".
Anderson talked to FOX 2 from an undisclosed location. He said he met the victim on MocoSpace. An online gaming community. He even provided text messages that he says was between him and the victim that dated back to March 21,2016.
The victim told FOX 2 on Tuesday they were supposed to meet that day but she changed her mind and that's when the men kidnapped her at gunpoint and took turns driving around and raping her. She said the nightmare only came to an end because the 19-year-old had a tether and had to get home by ten.
But Anderson. Who does not have a tether or a criminal record. Tells a different story.
"We walked up to her car and she unlocked the doors and said come on in. We got in the car. She discussed the prices. She asked us where was a good location to go to," Anderson said.
He claims the alleged victim is a prostitute and she drove them to a secluded spot where they had sex, smoked weed, and got cigarettes at a Sunoco. "My cousin, he was the one that was supposed to pay her but he didn't give her no money. He didn't give her anything. She wanted a hundred dollars for it," Anderson said.
His cousin has already turned himself in to police. He said he planned to do the same, once he gets an attorney. A promise he made good on, shortly after 5 pm Wednesday.
"I did not rape her at all," Anderson said. "She didn't get her money so that's why she's trying to pin this on rape. Why would I have to rape her? She was chillin' with us. ".
Anderson said he did not have a gun and does not believe his cousin did either.
Anderson's father, Fernando Anderson III, said this should be a lesson to all parties.
"Hopefully it's a message to her. Young lady, whoever you are: stop selling your body. Stop meeting guys online. And it's a message to my kids, my son and my nephew, stop messing with prostitutes. This should be a lesson," he said.

Police in Port Huron and Marysville have arrested 20 people in a prostitution sting.
According to the Port Huron Police Department, the arrests come at the conclusion of the first phase of an investigation into human trafficking and prostitution in the Blue Water Area.
Port Huron Police Capt. Jeff Baker said some of the people arrested have been arraigned while others still are being investigated.
He said the department had received complaints about online prostitution.
"We had a couple of people contact our agency and say there was solicitation happening online. In the Port Huron area," he said. "They reported it.
". We*had*cases we were investigating that were either drug-related or other crime-related activities that were tied to prostitution," he said.

Just after 8 am, law-enforcement officials led several handcuffed men from the side of the motel, located on the 9400 block of Michigan Avenue, into the front.
The spokesperson said the city is seeking a nuisance abatement in an effort to close down the motel.
Kenyetta Hebron, a Detroit Police Department spokeswoman, described the motel as a "long-term problem for the 4th precinct" and the nearby Dearborn Police Department.
In 2016, the Detroit Police Department made 115 runs to the motel and more to the surrounding area. The motel also was the site of two shootings and numerous aggravated assaults, and two homicides were traced back to guests of the motel.
Sharon Reddig clapped and cheered as she walked north on Stecker toward Michigan Avenue. Reddig, who lives in River Rouge, was in the area to drop off her husband, but said she used to work at the bar next door to the motel "15 or 20 years ago," before it became a topless establishment.
"I've been waiting for this day," Reddig said.

She's an alcoholic, mentally unstable and who knows what other substances she introduces into her body. She needs help. Whether she seeks treatment really isn't up to her parents, the news, want to be boyfriends, tricks, etc.
Most workers require some kind of trauma and or crutch to do what they do and whether she stops or cuts back on say drinking is really a personal choice that anyone who has ever taken a drink or a dose have to make for themselves.

What the news did to that woman was not okay.You are right that the only one that can ultimately help her is herself, however, as a parent it seems to me I'd rather have my daughter's life exposed and her alive with the ability to help her through this rather than live without her. When the alcohol or drugs take over many times it isn't a personal choice. An addict needs to be guided in the right direction at some point.

Anyone remember what Cass Corridor was like in the 70's 80's and 90's before the casino's and new stadiums? It was packed with drugs and prostitution. The city of Detroit cleaned it up for the new casino's and stadiums. If the city of Detroit really wanted to do away with prostitution they would do they same thing they did with the Corridor. They could fix the problem if they wanted to, but they would rather have the money from busting John's.

Two members of my extended family tried crack ages ago; the results were devastating. One committed a felony while high and served time, but recovered and got his life back; the other didn't. She's old enough to collect Social Security and is still attempting to finagle money from family to pay for her habit.

WATERFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Federal, state, and local authorities have shut down three Oakland County businesses for allegedly selling sex.
Detectives and agents from the Waterford Police Department -- together with U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security and Michigan Corrections Department raided a trio of massage parlors Wednesday afternoon, after determining women working at the offices were offering sexual services for money, police annoucned Friday.
None of the businesses -- identified as Sun Spa on W. Huron Rd., Massage Oasis on Highland Rd. and Brownstone Therapy on Airport Rd. -- had a license to operate. In fact, police said, none of them had ever applied for a license.
"There is no place in Waterford Township for this type of criminal activity," said Waterford Police Chief Scott Underwood, in a statement. "Even when it occurs behind closed doors, sex for money is still prostitution and we will use all legal avenues to eradicate this type of crime from our community."
The proprietor/manager at each location was issued a violation for operating a massage establishment without a license, but no information was released regarding any arrests.
Police said federal agents were on site to assist with any potential forced prostitution and/or human trafficking issues.

They are focusing on jailing the clients instead of the women now. Just be careful what you keep on your monger phone and what are you asking a provider. There is more time for using a computer for a crime than it is for soliciting. I think 20 were charged with prostitution, 14 got charged for soliciting and since 20+14=34 each of them also got charged with using a computer to commit a crime. I'm not a law professional and I wonder if a flip phone would be considered a computer these days.

Or are you referring to age?I would say prostitution is when a woman pays for her own room and controls her own schedule of coming and goings, and sex trafficking is when a third party provides the room and controls the people coming and gone, and / or also shows up the door and collects the money before any time starts with that provider. The hotel truly knew what was going on and it sounds like one or more employees were hushed by the manager. You never know when meeting these providers at these hotels that the police are watching the entries and exits and become documented and become a part of an arrest. Just by dropping a provider off at a house in Allen Park one time, got me called in by the Allen Park Police as a crime happened at the house and a neighbor seen my vehicle dropping her off and recorded my information and tag. I do have to say that the Allen Park detectives are idiots when I went in to be questioned by them just for dropping off a provider, and then try to lecture me about being in association with these providers. They wanted to search the vehicle that I dropped her off in, I didn't take that vehicle with me for the interview just for that purpose and they didn't have enough to get a warrant to search it without my permission. End of story, I heard nothing more but it could have been something worse.

Sex trafficking is when a Croatian gangster kidnaps your 14 year old daughter, sends her to Bangkok and chains her to a sewer pipe and injects her with heroin. The former is fairly common and the latter is common only in the imagination of legislators and newspaper publishers.

Prostitution is legal in certain areas, the red light districts felt very safe. There were police every block. There being a prostitute is a career. Here it is mainly used to support drug habits. Legal brothels in rural counties regulated and taxed. High price points keep riff raff out. The controlled environment makes a safer but fairly expensive setting.

We haven't see the wave of crime those opposed to legal cannibis predicted either. Now I just have to get my employer to give up on random drug testing.

Most people who oppose an issue are speaking on an emotional platform and not a factual one. They view cannabis as simply as a drug along with the hardcore stuff. They aren't educated to the facts of it or any other.
Random drug testing is still a good habit for employers to detect hard drugs. What you should hope for is for them to omit the cannabis results and accepts it's legal status.

They say there's others and I wonder about little Monica S. That was found at 1:30 am laying in the street at Fort and Calvary on May 31,2019 a victim of hit and run, they said.
