Over three years ago.
I don't think this is making out the hobby in a bad light. Often, LE doesn't GAF about missing hookers. And this LE waited three years and 9 missing hookers and two witnesses to say anything.
I remember when Gacy was caught. Turns out that in Chicago there were over 50 missing teenage boys over the past 5 years that you'd think would be news but LE didn't make a peep. Maybe they couldn't connect the dots.
Either way, hookers (and homeless) are common targets of serial killers. Recall Gary Ridgway, the Green River Killer.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were rumors in that world as to what's up. Maybe it's another reason why things are so slow.

I hope that they are well where ever they may be they are safe, though good chance that may not be true even if nothing of the former has befallen them. That being said the cynic in me wants to say that maybe our uncle is just running out of steam with the human trafficking accusations that never seem to materialize from all their efforts spent on our favorite vice, and so since murders and violent crime are running at all time high around here while they waste their time chasing guys trying to stick their dick in a willing at least paid partner; they may need to make the prostitution efforts look like they are more serious and somehow tied to murder and mayhem so they don't look like such incompetent buffoons chasing people giggling while people are bleeding and dying all around them. Either they are hiding something or they really are ignorant to sound so clueless about such a serious accusation unless there is a hidden agenda.

INDIANAPOLIS. The victim of Thursday night's murder-suicide is being remembered for her service and dedication to the community.
RTV6 went back to the archives to learn more about Officer Kim Carmack.
Her name and face appeared in several stories over her 20-year career with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Carmack was dedicated to cleaning up the streets and keeping neighborhoods safe. She was the kind of officer who knew the importance of walking the beat and was dedicated to the people she served, whether she wore a badge or not.
Her work as an undercover officer during prostitution stings helped to nab more than 700 men over five years.
She cared about reforming the person behind the crime too, telling RTV6 in 2002 how prostitution affects a family and a neighborhood.
Carmack proved she wanted to improve the lives of kids in the community. In 1994, she and other officers in the West District pooled their money together to raise $300 to help a family in need. Otherwise, the family would have gone without celebrating Christmas.
Even back then, Carmack knew what protecting and serving was really all about.
"Somebody has to make sure they have a Christmas. I have a big soft spot for children and that's what it is all about," Carmack said.
Carmack's selfless contributions earned her recognition by community organizations.
In 2001, the West Side Weed and Seed honored Carmack, among others, for making the area a better place to live through volunteerism and community service.
With all due respect to the dearly departed, as a taxpayer, I would like to see stories on the IMPD regarding cases like how much taxpayers spent on the former IMPD officer who drove over motorcyclists while he was drunk (on having the trial moved to Allen County, lawsuit settlements for the deceased and injured, FOP contributing a quarter-million bucks to his defense attorneys, etc). The FOP denounced this former bad IMPD officer, who had another DUI while he was out on bail from the first mess he caused, yet the organization still backed him with funds donated by us citizens, not to mention the tax dollars that went into these trials after he pleaded not guilty. And why wasn't he convicted of the second DUI?
As a taxpayer, I also would like to see a breakdown of the suspensions and leaves of absences of the IMPD sergeant and the murder victim (before he killed her and himself Thursday night). This puff piece on his former wife arresting 700 men during prostitution stings over a five-year period is garbage. Furthermore, prostitution, directly, affects only the parties involved. A man and a woman. NO ONE ELSE. I will not disagree with the fact that prostitution can lead to other crimes. Much like sitting at a bar or at home and getting liquored up (nothing wrong with that) and then getting behind the wheel of a car and driving over and killing people on motorcycles, which is the first case I mentioned above.
Also, as a taxpayer, I would like to know how much was spent on the former husband-wife (the murder-suicide cops) in regards to psychiatric sessions with therapists, because that obviously was a waste of our taxpayer dollars, too.
Plus, I would like to see a story on the hiring practices and procedures ensued by Indianapolis city leaders when it comes to hiring police officers. A complete breakdown on what they are looking for in officers, past training, a history of internal affairs issues, etc.
As a taxpayer, that's what I want to read about.
Incidentally, when a post or someone leads off by saying, "with all due respect," that usually means the opposite. I have ZERO respect for the IMPD, and I'm sure the mess that occurred Thursday night between these two former officers will be swept under the rug. I know cops read this site and I know some will not agree with my opinion.
But us taxpayers deserve answers. And Indianapolis journalists need to ask the IMPD and city leaders these questions. Instead, we're fed this crap about the number of prostitution arrests she had, which NO ONE cares about.

Most of them are brought in by high end contributors and influencers. They are very high end providers, much higher priced than the Jimmy Swaggart type of escorts. They don't get reported because they don't get caught. Was there once about three months ago. Met the chick in the lobby because she didn't have enough to pay for room. People at front desk then told her she was kicked out because she was with someone who did damage to a room. As we were leaving (we were heading to Red Roof) a cop pulled in the parking lot. I said to the chick politely to stay away from my car and keep walking straight. She asked if I was a cop and I said no and to stop hanging around people who damage hotel rooms. Then I got in and pulled away. No issues. Don't know what happened to the chick and don't care. Went to Brad's strip club for an hour or so and drove back through the area, and the same cop (I think) was sitting at the empty filling station right in front of Motel 6. Haven't been back. What sucks is the chick was hot. White, dark hair, Italian looking, 5-4 about 110 pounds.

The owners are working with LEO to 'clean up' the place. At least two providers have been asked to never darken their doors again and one was told that LEO had the big eye on her. However based on BP ads I would say others have moved in.

I'm just trying to help others. When I stayed there on Thursday night / Friday morning LE was in the parking lot. When I drove around to my room I was followed by a SUV with dark windows. He parked and sat there. My hookup didn't come over for several hours later. So I was not watched the entire time. I will find another place for hooking up that's all.

I work around the corner from the one in Beech Grove and more often than not, there is LE in the lot. I had a provider tell me that the front desk tipped her off to the fact that LE was asking about her comings and goings. I would never see a provider there and shy away from the Red Roof as well. The struggle is real people.

Now, instead of losing a bit of cash, you have to worry about losing friends and family, maybe losing your job. Almost certainly you're paying a lawyer a lot more than you would have lost, just to keep out of jail. And that's if things turn out in your favor. The worst case is the people at your funeral knowing you died doing something they don't approve of, and your family losing everything because of a wrongful death lawsuit.
There might be situations where you can pull out your gun and walk away with no problems, if the other people involved don't panic, if you don't panic, if there's no accidental discharge, but that's a lot of if's for a few hundred dollars.
Do your research, take precautions and leave everything, except your donation + tip, in a safe and secure place.

-The vast majority of handgun owners are not violent, don't have a criminal history, do not seek out trouble or confrontation.
-If they did, they would not be able to legally obtain a License To Carry (or maintain / keep that License).
-If done well / properly, nobody is ever going to know if a firearms owner is CC at any given point in time or not.
In the event of a rare and unfortunate circumstance in which someone is threatening another life, at least one would have a chance at surviving.
Realize that those few that would rob someone / jump someone / have a "thug" waiting in the wings to do bad things to someone may very well be armed. Maybe with fists, maybe a knife, maybe a baseball bat, or maybe an illegally carried gun.
In that rare instance, I personally wouldn't want to be armed with only an empty pocket and nothing but dryer lint to defend myself.
I have to ask, is it really worth it? There's plenty of crime in this hobby, but from the customer standpoint, almost every time you are only risking your donation, especially at an incall. That's if you're taking precautions, and only bringing the necessities to the meeting. Is $150-$200 worth dying or killing for? Is it worth jail and / or having your face on the evening news? Once that gun comes out, all of that comes into play.
Now, instead of losing a bit of cash, you have to worry about losing friends and family, maybe losing your job. Almost certainly you're paying a lawyer a lot more than you would have lost, just to keep out of jail. And that's if things turn out in your favor. The worst case is the people at your funeral knowing you died doing something they don't approve of, and your family losing everything because of a wrongful death lawsuit.
There might be situations where you can pull out your gun and walk away with no problems, if the other people involved don't panic, if you don't panic, if there's no accidental discharge, but that's a lot of if's for a few hundred dollars.
Do your research, take precautions and leave everything, except your donation + tip, in a safe and secure place.

There's no such thing as a "perfectly safe" gun with a round in the chamber. If the gun lacks a firing pin, it's pretty close, but in that case the gun is useless. The only perfectly safe gun is one you've verified is not loafed, and have maintained control of, since that verification.
Two examples, 1 fatal, 1 funny.
A friend's father had a gun collection. He had no problem with his son showing the collection to his friends, because none of the guns were loaded. One day, two of my teenaged cousins were looking at the collection, 1 of them was clowning around with a pistol. He died a few seconds later.
A few years ago a certified instructor, who gave gun safety training for state and local law enforcement, was giving a CC class. He pulled out his own gun and accidentally shot and wounded a student.
A gun requires 3 things to fire, a live cartridge, a firing pin and some means to cause the firing pin to strike the primer with sufficient force to explode the primer (the primer explodes, the powder burns). With a round in the chamber you have 2 out of 3. The force usually comes from the hammer, after pulling the trigger, in the act of firing. However, it's possible to accidentally pull the trigger, it's possible, but unlikely, to drop the gun and have it accidentally discharge, it can even occur from falling down, or being in a car wreck.
While these are unlikely, they are possible, meaning the word "perfectly" doesn't apply.
As I said, what anyone does, whether or not they CC, is up to them.

I just read this article in the Indy Sunday star, and it clearly takes a strong side. Their are young victims who are taken advantage of by evil men. Interestingly they do not mention any instances of substance abuse, or the girls lying directly about their ages. I do not doubt there are some who are drawn to the underage, but I would bet a lot of money that almost all recognize the boundary drawn by the concept of consenting adults. It saddens me that to get momentum for their cause the champions of the victims have to heavily bias their facts, since they embed their morality in these facts. Just another example of a group distorting reality to get its way. I don't fault them, I fault those that will not consider other ways of thinking, like maybe stop vilifying people for acts among consenting adults, and the underage thing will be diminished greatly. Unfortunately here in the great state of indiana, we still can't by cars or booze on Sundays due to antiquated blue laws, let alone trying to move our thinking into the 21st century.

They cannot sell cars on Sunday due to state law. They have a satellite lot across the river in KY where they do open on Sunday and do a lot of business.
I've been in therapy and my therapist considers all prostitution to be "human trafficking". There is clearly a concerted effort to make the two concepts synonymous. Unfortunately I don't ever debate it. Even with her and she is the only one I ever talk to about about the hobby face to face. This spa has been in Kendallville for quite a while. I worked with a guy in the late 90's / early 2000's who was an ex-cop. He told me vice was busting girls there on a regular basis. That does make me wonder why it took so long for a full-on raid like this.

It was a local USASG type board. Some of the mongers started a club called the "League.net" and met at local bars to discuss the Asian ladies that were providing sex. The Asian ladies were brought to the US by the traffickers and were forced to sell themselves for to pay off their debts for being brought here. The problem is LE, mainly the FBI, joined the review board and the league and met with the guys in bars and participated in the discussions even video taped conversations about the groups sexual experiences with the Asian ladies. Thus by sharing this info on the boards, in public in the bars during meetings, and through e-mails Uncle was able to get them for promoting prostitution.
What we all should learn from this:
1. Trafficking does occur. Mostly within the ethnic groups they come from. This is a case where Asian women were trafficked and it was not kept in the Asian community but was out in the open. Not long ago there was a case in Indy where Latin women were trafficked but the sex for sale was kept within the Latin community and the ring was busted up. So some of the BP ads could be trafficking but not very likely, it's more behind the scenes. Does this happen in local AMPs? I don't know but it would be the type of place for this to occur.
2. Undercover Mongers. Yes Uncle is on this board, so don't kid yourself by thinking they aren't. That is why it's very important for providers to verify a monger on this board. It's even important for mongers to verify each other. This is why long standing mongers are very careful with the info they share with Newbies. Just because you said you saw a number of providers doesn't mean you really did. Your review is fiction until it can be verified that what you said happened really did happen. That is why if you are meeting with a new monger it's very important to make sure they are not Uncle. That is why providers and mongers work together to keep each other safe. That is why having a trustworthy community is so important.

Legalize prostitution for both the buyers and the sellers. Then both parties will have nothing to risk in reporting exploitive or violent activity. The alternative is to maintain the lucrative status quo where LEO and pimps win, while providers and customers must still weigh the risks before reporting anything.
A half step in the right direction would be something like the Nordic model, where it is legalized for the sellers. Another half step would be to give full immunity or a "get out of jail, free" card to anyone who reports trafficking.

I just don't get it.While I get that they aren't going after the handlers, there is nothing wrong with getting the guys who are admittedly trying to have sex with children off of the streets. This is NOTHING like adults agreeing to a commercial transaction that the law should have no bearing upon. Book 'em and get them in the registry. It did say in the article that it was made clear that the provider was a juvenile, did it not? Of course, that would also depend on the local cops and DA telling the truth, which can be up for debate at times. But if it went down this way, then these guys are where they should be.
