Any old-timers here remember Rainbow on State St in Rockford, on the lower level of what is now Happy Wok? One of my all-time favorite happy places in the late 90's / early 2000's.I remember that place. It was the first massage place I ever went to. It was also the first table shower I ever had. I didn't know what to expect going in, but it got me hooked. Unfortunately I lived over an hour away and the next time I was in Rockford by myself, (years later) it was gone. So sad. You always remember your first!

What's place in sycamore?Most people refer to it as Zen Spa, but I'm not sure what name it goes by these days. It's part of the strip mall at the end of the cul-de-sac across from the Farm & Fleet on DeKalb Ave. Turn left instead of right like you were planning on going into Fleet. Go to the end of the cul-de-sac and enter the parking lot. There are two sets of building facing the lot, one of the right, the other on the left. Spa's on the right end of the left-hand set of store fronts, and has a flashing "Open" sign in the front window. It's not cheap, but if you make it clear what you're there for, a full menu is available.

Stopped by this place today at lunch. It's down a couple from Oscars on Mulford.

Wasn't a bad massage, but like Mann216 said, she left the room several times, would stop to answer texts and calls. All in all, I'd say she was actually in the room for maybe 45 out of the 60 minutes. Lots of calls and door bells during that time too. Not very relaxing overall and not exactly a great first impression.
I don't think they've been open long, so I might be willing to give them another chance soon.

Stopped by at lunch today when I saw the neon sign lit up.
Place smelled a little funky, but not too bad.

Anyone tried Sun Spa on Phelps? Had no idea it was there.
Had another visit today and have now gone 2 for 2 on BBFS. She's older and rounder but a great massage after a good release is well worth the trip. In such a high traffic area though I'm guessing YMMV on this one. No up front haggling. Straight to business and sort the tip out in the end. I left what I felt to be fair but easily could have been a jerk and left no tip at all. Thanks, Slav.Went a few weeks ago when they opened on the weekend. Kind of a strange setup where the rooms are a straight shot from the front door. Had an excellent massage for one hour. She left the door to the room somewhat open during the massage, which was kind of weird. After the massage, she grabbed my pants and I assumed she wanted a tip for what was going to happen next. I obliged and then she was motioning me to service myself, which I politely declined. After pretty much no negotiations, she gave me L1. After that was done, she said "massage only". Kind of strange and I won't be going back. The place in Beloit is much better. This is really unfortunate because the old place in Loves Park a few blocks from there was absolutely amazing.
