He's out and about in the lot so be safe.Cruised heim after a meeting in bensenville last night. Drove by all the local bars. I'd say the busiest given the weather was scores. Carls also looked ok. Not much at louie's or j's. Did not see uncle tom's son, however just an FYI there is a little hiding place I noticed what must be stone. Once one starts heading north on heim after turning off lake on the east side of the street just past the motorcycle place the retail stores are really tight along there. There is a little driveway in there and what had to be stone just peeking out enough to see the activity on the street. Other than that did not see much. Rolling uncle frankie was around further north. I may have to rethink my proposed spot for take out as my owner friend rolled up just as I was leaving. Since we know each others' rides even in the dark we stopped to chat.

As I mentioned in a previous post one has from south to north- northlake, melrose, stone, leyden township (which is unincorporated and the reason we see uncle tommy's boys so much), franklin and schiller. Now as far as snooping around that immediate area I would say it narrows down to- dart's boys, stone, melrose and franklin. On occasion one of the schiller boys will check around those hotels closer to the airport north of addison. Lots of franklin, however mostly cruising up and down and through the strip centers on the east side of heim. As far as straddling between lanes and sitting I have seen tommy's boys, however I also have recently seen northlake which means there has to be a little section that is in their village. The main thing is day or night do not come close to exceeding the speed limit! I mean never! Also watch for the no turn on reds and the photo enforceds. If you are allowed to turn on red come to a complete I mean complete stop with tires not moving at all count to three slowly and turn with signal on. With all of the bars in the area and car dates known to them they are looking for any reason at all to stop. From there they go on to wherever one leads them.

So, I just found this out (and never knew in my whole life frequenting this area often), you're totally right, Northlake owns a tiny piece of land that straddles Mannheim right where the Speedway is near McLean / Major. So I was driving north on mannheim around 1 this afternoon. Went past Bobbys and the lot was empty. It looked closed. Continued north as I was passing Tony's food store a Northlake squad passed me and as we crossed Armitage he turned in to J's parking lot. There was an unmarked there already.

I went around the block and both squads were parked like they were inside for a drink or dance.

Hope. The business I always talk about on the west side of heim south of fullerton I was told by the owner of said business that he is technically in leyden which of course is unincorporated cook. I lived in an unincorporated area for several years and really what it came down to was who your fire and po po was (in my case it was dart's boys) and other things like you might be responsible for your own water with wells and septic tanks and also you may not get sidewalks in front of your house. Also your streets will be plowed by the county and not the village. I was literally within inches in the back of my house property line to the actual village. Only thing good about it was the tax guy had not been around in years so my prop taxes were still low. Back to the subject of the heim stroll though. There are so many villages and municipalities in such a little stretch of land that the entire area has to be unique in that regard. Yea what I saw was a northlake guy way up near j's just recently. Also today I saw what had to have been stone making a stop. I think what happens is they don't poach other's areas, however they stop where they stop. It's rare you see schiller even come over the hill south bound at addison by 294. Mostly schiller sits up by me waiting for the truckers to make mistakes and turn off irving and then because of weight restrictions they jump all over them! Also I agree in that in my mind I thought northlake was more like west of heim on north or west of heim on lake. Actually a flea market vendor at the corner over there told me that stone comes over and checks for stolen merch and technically I believe that is melrose or at least that is what the flea people say it is. Again that area has to be unique in many ways. It's my opinion that those concerned about us would be of course uncle county, stone and uncle frank.

He went west bound by blowing the left turn signal onto grand and I thought wow something is going down or it was a late turner or truck issue. However, as I continued south bound on heim who do I see come out slowly without the lights but uncle thomas. He rolled into the shell. The same guy cruises that area all the time as I have never actually even seen two cars over there at once since threading up and down heim. Maybe it was a canceled order or who knows? I just found it interesting that we might think oh great he's gone and then he drops back out of the sky. Now that I have seen first hand. Watch uncle he gets crafty! Quoted this post only in that I see the member was strolling in a vehicle.

So northlake and county for sure sits between the north and south lanes. Also uncle has been "dart"ing in and out of the shell and new speedway. I really think that the uncle thomas is just one dude. I mean we've posted about it here many times that there are so many villages and the city of northlake and unincorporated cook the cruisers are around all day and night. It just is with or without us. I mean just be careful with your speed and don't blow yellows into reds and come to a complete stop on your right turns on reds.

The girls stay in one spot, they clearly have cop written all over them and guys get desperate don't follow the rulers of the road and that's when bad things happen. I remember my first month in that area. I too was almost a victim. I pulled over and she walks to my car. I ask her do she need a ride. She says, hell no I'm looking to make some money, you going to help me, what do you want to do baby. Lucky big head took over and realized she was saying this through my car window. So per the rules I said no just offering you a ride thought maybe you were waiting on the bus and I was going that way. Have a nice day. Needless to say my little head had me doubting my intuition so I stashed across the street in the car wash and watched for a good 30 minutes, was also answering some emails as well. And it didn't take long before some poor mope fell for it and LEO came out in a swarm.

So I say all that to say. Stop panicking put your big boy pants on follow the rules and you will be fine.

The speed limit between Lake and North is pretty low and I see the most police cars trying to get someone there.That would be stone and they are always sitting there. I think how recon on where LEO is actually relates to the hobby as well because unlike most areas and imo even in the city the SW scene is not really so integrated with the bikini bar and strip club scene like it is on heim. So totally agree that because uncle tommy has a small satellite cop shop there and stone is literally right on heim there will be more cruisers around. also cruisers from the city of northlake are present only because right there at heim and armitage is a slice of northlake. And of course up closer by me franklin runs along heim even though their cop shop is along the east west railroad tracks just east of 25th and belmont. However as far as speed limit goes yes once in stone it goes way down so I like to crawl just south of north going southbound and from lake to at least north ave northbound. I do believe that the presence of LEO all along there and all of these pull overs for speeding and vehicle infractions are also being done as they are trying to pull dui's from the bikini bars. As we know, those places do a great deal of their business during lunch and after work. Not to mention the guys trying to pickup car dates from the strip centers on the east side of heim.

Dwill.Totally agree. When have cops not been there? I have personally seen guys do stupid things. Late at night when there are 2 cars in sight, guys will make you-turns in the middle of Manheim. Don't do that. Turn down a side street and make a turnaround there. At 2 in the morning, you can't make 6 trips back and forth, no matter how horny you are. When there are 3 cars on the road, you don't think you will get noticed? Don't pick up stupid girls. Most of them are on crack. They are supposed to act stupid. Mongers should know better. I never pick up a girl on Mannhein. Drive by her, get her attention and find a safe side street that you check out first yourself. Don't go to her spot. "Don't worry, honey- I have never had a problem here. " Well, there's a first time for everything, isn't there? Yes I know cops from time to time run stings. Now not to post something that will start a trail of "paranoid monger outings", however this would be opinion from someone that has a very local nearby window village sticker as well as a scooter medallion. Also both my rides (not counting my bicycle of course!) have the plates registered to this local village as well. If uncle and we all know several jurisdictions in a very short stretch of road (which imo has to be some sort of unique situation anywhere) suspects you of cruising it is my opinion that they will get close enough to you to run your plate. If you come up outside of the immediate villages or cities (again many as we all know of course) then you will be trailed. As you mentioned ump unless you do something wrong (easy to do on that stretch) they don't have probable cause and know you are looking back through that mirror hoping you get spooked and leave the area. Now all of that said the guy I speak about that owns that little car wash on heim told me that even he was told to move along when he parked over in the salvation army lot on grand just east of heim to make an emergency call. When? I don't know because his business is 24/7/365 and with machines there are always issues so he has no regular hours. He was stopped by uncle frankie. So say what one might and yes I know cop shops on the actual street, I do believe the area is extremely unique. Sorry for being so long winded. I'm old!

I wonder what will hapoen legally when someone simply passing through gets stopped and harrassed. It will happen. It's more than just out of town mongers that pass through. And a court case on someone that has not committed any infraction could be interesting followed by a lawsuit. I also wonder how local business owners will react when out of towners get nervous about even driving that stretch of road.

Now over here say from foster to rt. 72 on river yea those guys are pulling them over left and right because of all the pretty buildings and functions going on in that strip. If a monger drives back and forth half a dozen times at 1 am, someone will notice because there are less cars on the road and less reason to be there. To Bitter: I get your points. I got pulled over right there on Irving (by HIP), but for tail lights being off at night. No ticket. I was just asked if I need help to get them to work.That's norridge and generally speaking they don't sit. I have lived over here on the southwest end of the big airport for over 2 years now scooting around and for the last year with my junky little pickup truck and really the only guys over there that sit are harwood heights over near tha busy intersection at harlem and lawrence. I just found it interesting that all the times I have gone in and out of the hip I was never really tailed until recently. However, like on heim I am local and know all of the limits as well as the lights. I think heim gets so cruised not so much for the cop shops on the strip, but because they know there is some questionable activity happening in pickup areas right near all of the lingerie bars. Usually right around up here on irving most of what one sees west of river are cruisers laying back for trucks to make wrong turns and then they immediately pounce on them because the ticket is 250. Sucks but really makes sense. The roads just can't take it and really unless one spaces or doesn't know the immediate area it's kinda dumb to even be stopped with a cdl. When I drove the big blue bus down the street I was never stopped. Guys that were did just plain dumb ass maneuvers.

Next time look just next to the shell to the north and you see what looks like a former stop and flop type place that is now a private apartment place, I believe. So at least I can put up two observations. That place on the east side lido it's similar to ambiance place heavy heavy dart boys just a half hour or so. They had a few black dudes out in front of a door so do not know what was going on. On the way back up from lake it was all gone except another one of dart's boys who was further up straddling the median pulled in afterwards as well. I did see that one black tall chick with the long red braids on the west side of heim and I think it was at one of the stop and flops with the doors that lead right to the outside. She was taking a smoking break from something so don't know if she lives there or was working there or both. Keep safe. Since I don't want to get commented that oh I saw fuzz! Here I just keep traveling up and down heim on a regular basis as I live so close up near the airport so when I see what I see I like to think I would just pass it along to the guys that look on melrose here.

Tints are legal in IL if you follow certain rules regarding back vs front etc. In any case the fact that they're legal at all means cops are far less likely to pull people over for them now than they use to be as they need to determine opacity percentage whereas before it was as simple as some vs none. Not saying that they won't do that but I've had them for years driving through the area every weekday without issue. Just my opinion / experience but don't think it's really an issue unless your car looks sketchy for other reasons in addition to tints.

What special plate do you need for tints, first time I have heard that, thanks.As mentioned in a post here on this subject there is a limit to tints as even on my old junky pickup there are tints on the sides in the cab where the jump seats are. What I was told by sos is that technically there is a limit to the degree of deep tint ones vehicle can have and beyond that they do need to have a doctor's order and then take that to the sos for the special plate (which they will issue). However, as mentioned in the other post fuzz does not want to or can not tell for sure what that line is so the likelihood of getting stopped just for that I would believe to be slim. On heim it's mostly speeding especially through stone or hollywood rolls through right turn on reds. Stay safe. Stosh.

I also agree with Stanley: watch your speed on Mannheim, especially through Stone Park, where it drops to 30 mph. It's only about a mile or so long and very heavily patrolled by the municipal cops. You'll see all the locals and folks in the know immediately drop to that speed and precisely maintain it through that section of Mannheim Road--I've never seen anything like it apart from watching drivers in Texas drive *exactly* 20 mph through school zones.

The plate is patterned after the regular passenger car plate, but has black characters instead of red characters and ends in "WT" for "window tint". In my experience it's not a very common plate: I only see them about once a year as I drive around Chicagoland.

I also agree with Stanley: watch your speed on Mannheim, especially through Stone Park, where it drops to 30 mph. It's only about a mile or so long and very heavily patrolled by the municipal cops. You'll see all the locals and folks in the know immediately drop to that speed and precisely maintain it through that section of Mannheim Road--I've never seen anything like it apart from watching drivers in Texas drive *exactly* 20 mph through school zones.As I think the only reason it was brought up back a few months ago was someone did get pulled over that strolls up here as well as on 47th and got cited for it. Yea, there is rarely a day that I am not up or down heim and see the Christmas lights flashing from one of the many local fuzz. Mostly they pull over south to north for some reason and yes most of those are right in or just past stone. Lot's of times drivers fly over that over pass south of lake going north, make the light and keep rolling. Right into a speed trap by stone. I rarely see more than either, dart's boys, stone or northlake making these kinds of stops. The reason I even brought up the tints this time is again another pull over going northbound just at north or maybe even just shy. They will tell them to pull into a side street. Other than those fuzz I occasionally see eastbound on north ave the melrose guys making stops and I think those are speeding just after the heim overpass going east into melrose. On another note has anyone seen anything interesting in or around the speedway? I like that place for a coffee stop and just wondering if anyone has seen any other possible activities. Sorry but been busy as hell hasn't been able to get to this topic or for those that hit me on the burner I've been trying to keep up. With this health situation I have been staying up in the village and getting more exercise on my bicycle. I think I saw one of the heim strollers way over here just east of 25th on lawrence. There's that one older woman that is usually on the east side of heim usually near those stop and flops or those shabbier apartments. She usually wears a baseball cap. It was nice yesterday, however she did have on heavier clothes so that caught my attention. I went by, however I did not stop. What she was doing over here I have no clue. Possibly just wondering around or got off the bus up by the airport on heim and just started walking this way.

Since my fleas are opened again, thankfully I can make a few fresh observations. Today the 4th first off I can see and say first hand dart's boys are around. I stopped very early, however sun was coming up, at my friend's car wash. Some dude I believe on a bicycle was hanging around. Don't know if he was hitting on the few people washing their vehicles or not, however dart's boys landed on him very quickly and told him to get along. After that I stopped at the newer speedway for breakfast and as I parked that one cubbie fan dirty blonde was walking behind me. She was showing it off as she was walking southbound. Like I say I think she works out of that little apartment complex just to the north of that shell. When I see her she is usually coming or going from there. Other than that yesterday I was down my louie's but further to the corner at lake and heim. While coming back from the flea I was in the lot going to my truck and I noticed a younger black woman with long braids in the passenger's side of a flatbed. I didn't see the dude until he got out and walked over to the taco place on the corner eating his food that looked like he took with. I think what happened is they did not know if I saw her head going up and down in the front seat of his truck and since the truck was clearly marked as a business he got out and walked back to the taco place as if to go in for food. I didn't really turn specifically to look back at the truck as this was all within 10 feet of me. Mind you this was like 1 pm so I believe I spooked them. Pretty funny is all. Stay safe, folks. In a way maybe your friend was blessed by leaving the cash on the table as it might have escalated later on when they were either doing the deed and he was already in his birthday suit. She's always been very cool laid back and simply just reliable. 15 mins from me on any given day and always answers my text. Sad thing her BF was killed in a hit and run. But she's a great girl. Long brunette hair wearing a baseball cap. About 10 minutes later I see walking along Mannheim going south. Now you know how hot it was on Tuesday as well. So I made a couple of passes but could not catch her attention.

So I started to head south and something kept telling me to go for it. So I circled around and still could not get her attention. So I figured time head out. So I continued south and got almost to the Ike and turned around and headed back north. As I get to the bridge between St. Charles and Lake here she is walking across the bridge. I was thinking this girl is a trooper in the heat. So I get to Lake, go to 25th and come back up St. Charles. Turn left on Mannheim to go south again and I see she has made it almost to Butterfield. So I pulled down a side street and decided to wait and just ask her if she wanted a ride to get out of the heat. Finally she appears walking across the side street and I yell to her if she would like a ride. She comes up to me and I mentioned where I had seen her and mentioned she had walked a long way. Apparently she lives in Bellwood and not far from where we were. She was honest and said she was looking for a date.

So she hopped in and off we went and found an apartment complex and she got down to business. She had a shirt on with no bra so easy access but they were definitely A to a very small B cups. As most know I am up and down that strip just about daily and know most all of the east west side streets on both sides. That description is way too clean for that area! Lately I have seen two african american homeless guys at the lights with signs and on occasion both females and males hanging around those stop and flops on the east side of the street. Almost the entire Mannheim strip that spans just past the bridge down to Grand has been a dead scene. Going back to when the Playpen went under there was a big dent put in the small bars and clubs where we knew a lot of the regulars. Not that the Playpen was a high society place by any means, but the couple of remaining bars on Mannheim are gatekept by the local regulars now. Mannheim used to be a great, late, post-bar-night destination, but now it's just a depressing street that should be nuked and paved, unfortunately. There is a movement in leydon township (of which my village is part of) to clean up heim. It's being called "mannheim moving forward" I believe.
