At the time, not only did those two places have the higher house fees, they were also trying to gouge for Tampa-Area-High-End tip pricing of 160 as their rock bottom minimum (while often starting out ASKING for 200 tip!) ... which was so outrageous for that market that I struck them off my list and haven't gone back. Since that time, I would not be surprised if that high-priced management and talent found that they couldn't sustain sufficient business volume to stay in business and packed up their Golden-Pussy's and moved on to some other location/market. With the vacancy, perhaps a more reasonably price-minded management/talent group has moved in and is starting out at the 50/70 house fee price-point.
Two other places that at least USED to get 60/80 house fee are the two that are in the strip plaza on the south side of Gulf Gate Drive just east of US41/Tamiami Trl. The names of those places are (or at least used to be), Siesta Key Massage and, farther to the east, Gulf Gate Massage (the orange storefront with the short "garden wall" in front.
I don't recall seeing any recent reports that comment on tipping requirements, nor quality of talent, at any of those four places, so if you, or anyone, has the scoop on that, please feel free to share liberally.

The amount of work necessary to make a dent in the need would take a small army, but with that many people, we'd never get a consensus on what to fix/repair/improve FIRST!
I suppose I'd get rid of the carpeting (all over) and replace that with waterproof composite plank flooring (that looks like wood... that 6" wide stuff), then paint the walls, replace/update all the doors and doorknobs, and put in new/updated lighting. Of course the shower area is a major "gut" project to enlarge (just a bit), to provide more room for the attendant to "join" the client for a soapy-slip-n-slide quasi-nuru experience, and also totally re-tile, replace all the water fixtures, and maybe update the shower area lighting. The two places where you "step down/up" don't bother me too much, but while we're at it, we may as well try to get all of that on one level to eliminate potential tripping over those steps while frolicking back and forth from the shower area to the massage room. Then, we need more wall mirrors in the massage rooms, and maybe some newer/nicer room furnishings (side tables... I think the actual massage tables are probably fine as is), but I do like it that they have the towel warmers right in the room rather than having to leave to get a "warm washcloth" for clean up, etc..
Not to be forgotten would be some much-needed improvement in the private "lounge" areas where the attendants spend their "off-time". We don't get a good look at that area, but from what I've briefly glanced around the "curtain" that separates that area from the hallway, I don't think it's very luxurious now. I recall one girl, from years ago, telling me that she hated that area because it was so unpleasant (she used stronger words to describe that, but since I haven't actually inspected it closely myself, I'm ok "lightening up" that description a bit).
Everybody else chime in with what else would be a good improvement that I may have overlooked. We know that Sunny reads this forum, so maybe she'll look into putting together a plan to assemble some of us as volunteers to complete the work! LOL!
Went to Oriental Massage by Peache's for the first time the other day. When I left their were two undercover police vehicles outside on the side street. Good idea, but the challenge would be trying to decide WHERE TO START! The amount of work necessary to make a dent in the need would take a small army, but with that many people, we'd never get a consensus on what to fix/repair/improve FIRST!
I suppose I'd get rid of the carpeting (all over) and replace that with waterproof composite plank flooring (that looks like wood... that 6" wide stuff), then paint the walls, replace/update all the doors and doorknobs, and put in new/updated lighting. Of course the shower area is a major "gut" project to enlarge (just a bit), to provide more room for the attendant to "join" the client for a soapy-slip-n-slide quasi-nuru experience, and also totally re-tile, replace all the water fixtures, and maybe update the shower area lighting. The two places where you "step down/up" don't bother me too much, but while we're at it, we may as well try to get all of that on one level to eliminate potential tripping over those steps while frolicking back and forth from the shower area to the massage room. Then, we need more wall mirrors in the massage rooms, and maybe some newer/nicer room furnishings (side tables... I think the actual massage tables are probably fine as is), but I do like it that they have the towel warmers right in the room rather than having to leave to get a "warm washcloth" for clean up, etc..
Not to be forgotten would be some much-needed improvement in the private "lounge" areas where the attendants spend their "off-time". We don't get a good look at that area, but from what I've briefly glanced around the "curtain" that separates that area from the hallway, I don't think it's very luxurious now. I recall one girl, from years ago, telling me that she hated that area because it was so unpleasant (she used stronger words to describe that, but since I haven't actually inspected it closely myself, I'm ok "lightening up" that description a bit).
Everybody else chime in with what else would be a good improvement that I may have overlooked. The massage was average the first time as well, I only went back because they could take me as a walk in when everywhere else was busy. The quality of the talent here was at one time not too bad, but it has slipped and has stayed at that lower quality level. To demand more $ for declining quality just seems really silly, especially when there's better just across the bridge, up in T Town, and if you want to go really nuts, Orlando (one of the best places in the Big O charges 2 and that's for the whole magilla and then some with gals that will knock your dick stiff.).

Gives all the details!Author of that "Guest Column" is none other than the crusading Manatee County Commissioner for the southern district of the county that was initially elected in 2018 on a campaign platform of "cleaning up the massage parlor mess!" This column reads like a "Hey! Look at me NOW!" pseudo-accomplishment memo intended to support a RE-Election effort. I'm not a resident, but if any of you guys live in the appropriate ZIP Code to run for that office, please let us know and we'll support you (or at least I will... with campaign donations).
In any case, all of the hubbub here seems to be horn-tooting over an inspection and issuance of ordinance violations regarding the Crusader Ordinance this commissioner pushed through a couple of years ago. The 'violations' appear to be related to lack of state issued Massage Licenses (whereas MANY of the AMPs do, in fact, operate with attendants with said license), and other 'facility violations' issued by the fire inspector. These facility violations are easily remedied, and I know several of the Manatee County AMPs implemented measures to modify their facilities when that Crusader Ordinance was first passed.
My personal assessment (and opinion) is that there's nothing to see here and all of the media attention is part of a RE-Election Campaign by this nuisance commissioner. That said, it's always good to be aware of the landscape when we approach an election cycle. So, with the November 2022 election ramping up, this commissioner may well be out there pestering the local LE to make some news she can use for her campaign.

Usually, if a place improves dramatically, someone will note it in a report here. Absent that, I can only purely guess that nothing much has changed, even if there is new talent.

Most places don't want a "scene" like this and you'll get your cash back. If they still don't provide the refund, you could escalate further by letting them know you're calling LE to report them for taking your money (I've never actually heard of ANYBODY getting to that point).
You have to have some major cajones to escalate to that level and, frankly, most guys are going to walk and forego the House Fee as lost funds rather than enjoin in a confrontation. In any case, if you're walking out under any terms, you may likely be persona non grata afterward, but then you probably don't want to go back to that place anyway.

Visited Star on 26th yesterday. Mamasan let me in and took the house fee (. 80). Masseuse was not Asian but gave an okay table shower. Once back to the room business as usual from my experiences at Star. She had large naturals, a bit saggy, but great nips! Standard service for the location, CBJ, followed by covered positions of my choice. Didn't last as long as I would have liked to, but service was standard for the location. Tipped $.20, but tip wasn't discussed prior to the events. I'm back in Cincinnati now, happy hunting!

There have been busts and guys are nervous. We all know about Venice last month. North Port had several busts earlier this year. Moka has closed under suspicion, but I cannot find any arrests. If caught or stopped don't say anything. Remain silent. Do your research, check the internet for previous arrests at your favorite spa. If it's been hit before, it's a target. Also if your favorite spa has glowing reviews on Rubmaps, it's also a target.
