I agree with all that Rat. Even now with my ads I post I get crap responses for 19 of every 20 replies I receive. It's either crap ads, or crap replies. There's not many girls I'd pay the prices they're asking on CL to begin with anyway. I certainly wouldn't pay Brittany any more than what I would pay a SW on 1st. The only thing you get with Brittany is someone in her early 20's, and I can find that riding down 1st. The way I look at it I'd have to have a complete GFE if I was to ever pay any girl what these CL ads ask for, and more often than not you're not going to get that. GFE requires the girl act like they actually want to be with you, and that they're turned on by you, doing things intimately other than sex as if they want to be with you. Unless some guy shows up looking like George Clooney or Brad Pitt, these girls aren't going to want to do that. I can get more GFE by calling party lines and getting girls to reply to my ads than for me answering escort wannabe ads, and those don't cost anything. Sure, alot of the type girls you get like that will be overweight and some will be in an unhappy relationship or something. But those can be some of the best experiences you can have because those girls are hungry for attention and will show the same in return.

Clark - I too have tried to meet "non-pro" ladies through CL, but all I end up with are stupid ads or obvious attempts to get some kind of personal or financial info from me. I think I am desperate enough now that I would even be happy to meet up with an overweight girl ;-)

Well I've said before how to beat the fake ads and all at their own game. I hardly ever respond to CL ads. I post ads here and there and let them come to me. You get as many fake responses by posting ads, but if you post ads frequently, they're pretty easy to spot. Most fake ads lately put a copy of your ad at the bottom of their reply, plus they always have some website link mixed into their response. They also most always have a gmail account. It's also funny how alot of the responders have a male name as the sender, yet a girl is supposedly replying inside the message. I also use an email address which I have nothing but CL replies sent to, that way anything I get I know it's something sent to me as a result of my ad. There's also this dude from Pell City that replies to every ad I post wondering if, while I'm waiting on replies I'm seeking from my ad, if I'd be interested in letting him service me. He must reply to every guy that posts ads. You'd think there'd be enough ads in the gay section to satisfy his needs, lol. I tend to have better luck, though, by calling the local chat lines than CL ads, because most of those who I talk to on chat lines are ready to meet up right then. CL responders seem to want to chat forever and ask inane questions, like it's less safe to meet someone you talk to online than it is to meet someone from a chat line. I will say I do have occasional luck on CL, and that makes it worth it to me to continue posting my ads here and there. I had this black girl respond to me who lived in LA and was coming to the area to visit her family, and was looking basically for someone to meet up with her at her hotel and have a good time with her while she was here overnight. We met up at her hotel and had a good time, and I went home the next morning. She reminded me of Mandisa from American Idol, and it was just a meet up for sex, and nothing was ever mentioned or thought about in regards to her wanting payment. She just wanted to have a good time. It was an all night GFE experience, and I totally enjoyed it. Those are the type girls I look for on CL and chat lines. I wouldn't say I was desperate as you said you are in regards to getting with an overweight girl or getting with girls who answer my ad on CL. I'd just rather get with an overweight girl who acted like she was having a good time and wanted to be with me, than pay $200 to some ditzy Britney Spears lookalike for what amounts to 30 minutes of her all-important time. Especially when that ditzy girl is more interested in checking her phone for messages, don't want you touching her or doing certain things to her and acts as if she's disgusted if you try to kiss her or get close to her. I am not interested at all in dealing with those 'escorts' when most are really former SW and current/former drug addicts on CL and want 3 or 4 times the amount of money they'd get on the street. I'm also not interested in dealing with the hassle of fake pics, multiple ads for the same number, and the stupid LE trying to catch you in a trap. Even if I had the amount of money to throw away for stuff like that, I'd still choose other avenues to spend my money.

I have been watching this ad on CL for quite some time and have been skeptical because it just looked to good to be true. I even talked to her once before and didn't get a good vibe so I passed. Today though I saw her ad was advertising morning specials so I TOFTT. Guys she's the real deal. Pics are accurate as well as the description of service. I did the thirty minute service and paid what was advertised. Of course to each his own, but when I meet a provider and like what I see I pay the asking price and tip if I like the service. Which is what I did in this case. Think about it,if you start negotiating from the very outset you set the provider in a in a lack luster mood because she feels haggled. If I don't like the service I don't return and notify other hobbiest of the poor service. If the provider is of ANY quality, like in any other business, they will remember and the mood is set for her to be eager to repeat if not beat her previous session with you. On the other hand if I'm dealing with a low quality provider, such as a SW or a provider I'm not attracted to, I may try negotiating. Because for me LOOKS is the first reason I pick a provider, you know the whole fantasy thing, and service is the reason I return. Again that's just me and I'm sure there are those that feel differently. Really it comes down to whatever floats your boat and what you're willing to pay to set it assail. Actually the board has been a bit dry lately in regards to good providers, SW or otherwise, that have been had. I know I have found USG to be very helpful in the past. All it takes is for those of us that are partaking to take a few minutes to share the experience, good or bad.

Usually when they look too good to be true or the price is below market that is the case. Throw in the lack of a phone # and I would say odds are it is fish.

Saw a documentary on MSNBC today that dealt with Oakland Cali PD running stings based on CL adds. Also told about PD decoys on street and showed customers being arrested. In any ads they will have pictures but no nudity and no facial shots. Also they have a deal with the cities cellular provider to get simm cards with any area code they want. So you might see anything from a 205 to a 909 and anything in between. And the ads will be written in a way to entrap and will all be "incall" only as we all know cops are too chicken to try and make a bust in unknown territory. They might do something street level also so keep a watch out. As I find out more I will pass it along.Not sure how the CL busts works in AL, but, in the state I'm from they did CL busts and had nude pics in the ads? Not only that, they used pornstar pics (nude bodies and face) to advertise. The thing was they had these great pics and very low prices. The best advice I could give you to avoid this is "if it looks to good to be true, it probably is". The sad thing about this is, it entices otherwise innocent guys into thinking they can have this beautiful babe at a discount price? Is that right, just, or fair? I wanted to let everyone here know, just because it has nude pics in the ad, don't assume it's not LE. Never underestimate what they will do to catch you. Don't expect them to be fair either. The thing about nude pics in the ads is a myth, but, I'm sure the laws are different from state to state.

Especially incalls. The economics are such that BDP and most PDs do not have the resources to track down Johns. Its much easier to book a room and let the johns come to you.

Even then unless they get specific funding, I just dont think they are likely to bother with it because Roper seems to be all about getting the most arrests and its a lot easier and cheaper to just stop people on foot on first ave or do roadblocks and haul people in for various things.

This actually happened to me many years ago, but I got extremely lucky. I've been meaning to post this story but have never have gotten around to it. And I can't just now as the lovely/ nosey wife is just feet away from me. I'll try and tell this long winded-story tomorrow.

Sorry but federal money means they get to play like federal agents till the money runs out. So them setting up more stings in Hoover is possible again, even Homewood.

Are the feds giving money away to police departments to go after CL offenders ?

It just seems like even the feds would have better uses for money.

And whats this about BPD arresting a girl in Hoover ?

Its hard for me to believe that Birmingham PD is going to go after CL hookers all over the metro area.

Can they ? I guess they "can" but it just does not seem practical when they have plenty going on in the city limits that they cannot control.

Someone please tell me this is not how "stimulus" money is being spent !

First: this is not the appropriate directory for this, but as it has now been brought up here, it’s where I’m going to post it. Exact details are beginning to get fuzzy, so I may be somewhat in error, but the gist of the story is still accurate.

Location/Date: Downtown Dothan, AL, the self professed Capitol of Peanuts (and also Condoms) /about early summer 1997. This was back in the “Bad Old” days; back when the SW was thicker than summertime gnats.

As I approached an area known for easy pickups – with a typical density of 0, 1 or 2, I observed 8 -10 ladies in waiting. I had previously dated virtually all of them at one time or another. I immediately thought that this large assembly was most unusual.

One lady (unknown to me) approached and GOT IN without any discussion of what I might want or money. She didn’t stand out; she was a typical plain Jane, blending right in with the other known street gals. The single biggest thing here is this: as I was driving off - I heard a weak voice from the crowd. What I thought the voice said was “she’s a cop.”

Knowing the law from a previous arrest/ but ultimately un-arrested and released, I knew what not to do or say. And with those “possible words” and my prior experience I was playing it extra safe. As we drove away, she asked me what’s up. I told her I was headed to Sears – about a quarter mile away. A lie – of course, but that’s exactly what I did. As we rode I was carefully watching for anything following me - I never once saw anything!

Once parked at Sears she did her best – trying to get me to do/say anything towards the goal that she knew I was after. After my continuing to play it stupid, she got tired of the game. At this point she told me that I was smart by playing it “safe” like I did. SAFE were her words. I asked her what she meant by that and she said that I’d shortly know the answer to that question.

As she got out and started to walk back – I did a very stupid thing. I told her that someone from the crowd had shouted out that she was a cop. She didn’t acknowledge that, just continued back toward the original pickup point. Of course I went in to Sears and killed some time/ heart pounding. When I left Sears I backtracked past the original point. ALL the ladies were gone - there was nothing left at all. I guess that I spoiled it for them, cops and robbers both.

The following day: the front page of our newspaper was all abuzz about the big sting/ plus they ran pictures. As I recall - they nabbed about 7 guys. Putting it all together, it was a close call for me. Thank you to whichever lady gave me that shout out!

Follow up: about 3 years later I found a gal in the same general area. I offered her a ride and once underway I asked if she was a working girl. She said that she was but that she needed to go home and shower first. She asked that I return in about an hour.

I kept thinking that she looked familiar/ then it dawned on me. I BELIEVE it was the same lady. However, as there were no following headlines, I may have been mistaken.

Dothan police must not have been very smart back then, not saying police are very smart now, lol. If that WAS a decoy, they sure were putting her at risk, and she really must have been sure about her ability to take care of herself. Regardless of whether she had the words from you for an arrest or given the code word for her Hazzard County backup to gather, they should have at least been right there waiting to swoop in if something bad happened. It would have served both her and Dothan police right if she had gotten exactly what she deserved for such a boneheaded ploy as they were doing.

but perhaps she/they had it covered in ways that I wasn't aware of. As I said, I never saw any followers or observers (and I was watching) but that doesn't mean that they didn't see me. She did not carry a purse and her hands were free; she may have had a concealed weapon.

The important thing to remember is the idea that decoys won't get in with you is NOT correct. Some just may.

Maybe she taught Chuck Norris all that he knows. Or maybe - she was a he, and had a pair of "her" own.

There has been no news story I have seen about it and lately they live to do those stories to make the Ham look better.

And how would they work the whole county area? Damn they can't get along with each other to make things like craw daddy fest work smoothly. And hell how many times have there been problem and debates and busts dismissed on city lines because one or another couldn't let the jurisdiction thing slide. The onwer of a titty joint here got off on having enough drugs in his car to run another woodstock and it was all due to a jurisdiction error.

The first thing that would come up is jurisdiction, unless you are saying there is now a federal task force that the officers working this are on?

I find that to be interesting for what amounts to a misdemean'our for most and mostly a quick fine and time severed. And the fine is the most important they let them go with bigger fines all the time after many bust. Hell about 50% of them get dropped down to nothing or dismissed all together anyways if they get a good lawyer.

Just curious how this is all working? And where the funds came from while the state can't get federal funds to get enough troopers to cover the state when talladega is happening?

Sorry but federal money means they get to play like federal agents till the money runs out. So them setting up more stings in Hoover is possible again, even Homewood.

And yes they busted a girl in Hoover last month and it didn't get any press because they were working on more (which thankfully didn't pan out for them as the girl refused to play along).

But then again with Bishop out of rehab and passing his drug tests who knows what is going to happen.

If these girls were real they would have reviews. The vast majority are not real.

How would we know when we have others encouraging people not to post reviews and to send them PMs about their experiences. People need to think that this forum is to help others and to share experiences, not to pass private notes back and forth. Have you ever thought those people who ask for private messages relating to experiences might be the very people they're trying to make you think might read it on the forum ? As Jackson has said time and time again, the forum is on a server outside of the US, so there's no way to get information about anybody that posts here, plus any information posted here would have to be proven. Things that happen when you pick up a SW or visit an escort, once it's happened it's past and no way to prove. It's just like things that happen on the interstate, cops have to see it for them to be able to do anything. Giving facts as to the happenings of a meeting isn't anything that couldn't be posted, as long as it's general. I will say as no one seems to have seen naomi it may not be a photo of her. But the ideal that anytime the pro has professional photos they are fake isn't always true. I can think of several that have quality photos and look like them. Mandy yes they are from a few years back but back then when she started and for a few years she looked spot on them. Nikki looks just like the photos she had posted. Cj looks just like her playboy and modeling photos on her site. Evey looks just like the ones she had taken to use for modeling and post now in T-town. Kara with the tatoos looks just like the photos she took for that tatoo magazine and used for dancing at furnance here in town. Same goes for fantasy she looks just like the photos they used for her at sammies. So that would be like the statement made by a few on here that any pro not posting their number in an ad is fake. It may be true most of the time but not always! I have found some real gems answering ads but you have to fish and pay attention and trust me I have had better luck fishing in erotic than I ever had fishing in casual posts. Read the answers you get back. Does it ask you to go to some site asking you to pay or sign-up or just a good website with a direct number to call them and how fast it comes back is a sign it is fake. Hell I got one named heather to drive down from Tn. to me in March that doesn't post her number in her ad on Chattanooga's c.v. board. Sometimes they just don't want to waste prepaid cell minutes on people not serious like that one or want to play possum to keep away whomever. It know it blows and not in a good way when you book with someone and they don't look anything like the photo so I always do walk unless they look as good as the fake or better and say sorry your photo is miss leading.

Although it did cost me on two sites when it was pros who post and run ads on them. I had two times on one site and one time on another sites I got blacklist on D. C. And E. So, it has to be confirmed for it to be true? I may be different, but I can figure things out without someone having to go through a big investigation. Some things might not ever get 'confirmed', but sometimes you just know that it's going on. Kind of like underhand, dirty dealings with college athletic programs. Just because they don't get caught, doesn't mean it's not going on. My point was the news acting like they found a cure for cancer or something. It was like a big discovery. The cops arresting 30 people, I thought was real low. It's not hard to arrest someone for blatantly advertising for sex. And if your really observant, you can read between the lines on the ones' not directly advertising for sex. The providers can put all the disclaimers in the world on there that they're not, but anyone with half a brain knows differently. I could arrest people all day, every day if I was LE. Bujt your right about facebook. That's just for asswipe people who already know one another, letting the world know, that they already know another.

I agree with Clark's comments about the changes to Craig's List. People will try and use any possible forum or section in which to post their ads. It will just be more confusing as to which are professional versus "amateur" ads.

There is no sense to shutting down a section of CL because one sick jerk used a post to find his murder victim. Many people have met and or been tracked/stalked through traditional newspaper ads, personals, TV/radio appearances, college bulletin boards, etc. Will we as a society decide to shut down all forms of media in order to prevent another such crime? These are the sort of people who rush to pass laws before they even have an idea of the problem they are trying to manage.

What it makes me think of is the way the so called moderators on the al dot com forums censor things way more than they should. You'll have people there that will delete posts just because they disagree with them regardless of whether it's against forum rules or not. Sometimes there is just too much other chit chat to wade through. The way I see it when we find that 'rare jewel' among the many rocks out there and she travels here from elsewhere, it behooves all of the hobbyists to treat her right so she'll be inclined to return.

Too many people seem to want to pass things privately instead of sharing the information, and lately you even have people asking that the information be sent in PM's. I have long been an advocate for sharing most information on the board, because the things they're trying to keep from LE and the like, they more than likely already know anyway. In my opinion it's more pertinant to share information about CL ads and escorts than anything else because of the possibility of ads being stings. If someone can tell you for sure an ad is real, then that helps you with a major concern. But then you always want to look at who is posting the report of the confirmation of an ad and make sure it's from a trusted and longtime member, and not someone who recently joined with only 2 posts. Relating to the CL and escort side, I speak from a novice aspect relating to answering CL ads and visiting escorts, so I'm relating what would help me if I was to decide to visit one. And I'm sure it would help many others who might think about visiting them but never have.

Also, the name of the sender is usually different than the person talking to you in the email. It's alot to wade through, but I'd rather wade through all that than answer an ad for a sure thing quickie meet-up for pay and show up and it be cops.

The "age verification" is BS, I think. They will either charge your card or sell it to someone who will.

That crap can happen even if you dont fall for those kind of things. I am very careful with mine but found a bogus charge for a $25 phonecard on there. Had to cancel my card and get a new one. There was another one for $20 and an approval for $5 and change also.

I have no idea how they got it. The company that sold the phone card said they also had the 3 digit code on the back. I find that very hard to believe. But they were willing to reverse the charge with just me telling them it was bogus which suggests it happens a lot. Thats the phone card company, the credit card company made me fill out the form and send it in.

And now they have moved over to other dating and pay to get info on pros sites. They figure since many sites are asking to pay to advertise they have moved over to the escort sites that we pay to be on and I'm guessing the escorts don't have to pay to be on there. I ran in to it several times before the summer on a couple of sites I shop for tail on and got two of those verify or screening B.S. since Monday on a website I pay to be a VIP member on and have had pro's post that I'm ok on lol. So I send that I'm already verified by pros on the site that I'm real back to them after they ask for me to verify or prescreen and all I get is a nasty ass reply back calling me an dumb ass ect... like what justsomedude got lol. One thing I've learned to watch for is the email it comes from the name will be some chicks name but when you look at the name attached to the email they seem to miss the fact that they punched in a guys name lol. I started noticing that when I was answering post in the casual encounters stuff on CL lots of foriegn names and many times get a hi it's (insert girls name) but at the top of the email it would say a guys name. Which I suspect most of these aren't even women working this scam just some computer nerd selling a website. My advise is to get to know some pro that will post a review of you letting other pros know you are ok to see. Since they all seem to ask that we post good reviews for them.

EDYes, that's true, and since I post quite a few ads here and there, I get all the crap replies. It's easy to tell what replies are BS and what's real especially if you post multiple ads. Most fake replies come in bunches if you have several ads, usually from different names but the body of the email will be the same. Alot of the fake replies will come from gmail accounts. Other fake replies post a copy of your ad at the bottom of the email. Then some go right out and say in their reply that they want you to join such and such site to verify yourself, or to chat with them through some other website. Another way to tell is the address the email comes from is different from the reply email, and then might also be different from the email they list in their reply for you to reply to. Also, the name of the person replying is usually some odd sounding name, like Cameron Linguini or something similar. Now if any of you reply to ads, I'm sure the replies you get are basically the same as the ones I get for my ads, as they're all trying to get you to do the same thing. I used to reply to ads, though it wasn't ads for escorts just ads in the general personals section, and it got to be so much crap and a waste of time that I started just posting ads saying what I want and let them come to me. It's just like fishing from the shoreline with your line in the water, eventually you'll get a bite, lol. Generally, when I post ads I'll get those bites within a day or so of my ad appearing, and after that it gets too bogged down by newer ads. So when I'm actively posting I tend to delete the ads every couple weeks and repost them.

So he asked if it was a mastercard or visa. I said Mastercard. He asked who it was with. I said Capitalone. (I lied). He said I need the phone # on the back of the card. He said he would wait while I went to get it.

I made up an 800#. He said, you're card starts with a 5 right ? I said yes. (All mastercards start with a 5)

Then he said please read the rest of the numbers slowly.

I said "What do you think I am, stupid ?" and hungup.

I bet if they get 100 people, they probably get 10-20 idiots.

Even if they only scam $30-200 each before getting shut down, its a nice little scam. And what they probably do is go with small charges followed by bigger charges and probably make some several thousand dollar hits.

He sounded American. But, it could have been done from anywhere.

Ed, did you notice upon your return that you're now a senior member so your posts more than likely appear immediately now ? If they post immediately, then you're an unmoderrated senior, but it is possible you might still be moderated if they don't appear right when you post them. That happens if your posts had to be corrected any when you first joined. Immediate posts are much more helpful than posts which take half a day to appear, so it's always good when someone becomes a senior member.
