Well, I stumbled upon Carrie around 1:45 am this morning. I was cruising down Westford heading out and approached the Cumberland Farms on the left. We cruised Lowell thursday night 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Light LE, saw them a couple times but nothing heavy. Came across 1 Latino sw on middlesex, 4 wsw dotted along appleton, and 1 bsw on middlesex (stuck back in a doorway).

The only real stand out was a heavier blonde I've seen written about on here. She was across from Store 24 sitting on a small wall with an older dude. We did a couple casual trips around the block just to make sure she was working (being totally new to Lowell, felt it was best to take things veryyyyy slow.) Third trip around, pulled along side of the Store, and looked back just in time to see her getting scooped up. Oh well, maybe next time.

A funny note to add, as we were parked at Store 24 saw a very skinny bleach headed crack ho walking appleton, LE pulls up in a parking lot behind her. She gets spooked and starts to cross the street, then realizes they aren't there for her, so starts back across the street. Then they look at her, she's now in the middle of the road again, and can not decide which way to go. It may be just me but she looked like a squirrel when it gets caught in the middle of the road, left, right, left, right, panic. No real point to that, it was just a funny observation. Come to find out the cops were going to some apartment house totally unrelated to her.

All in all it was a good first trip to Lowell, though there was no score but, learned the cruise and had a good time. Look for a post on our first Springfield cruise after Monday.

LOWELL - A retiree who says he was just trying to fill the emptiness left by the death of his longtime wife now finds himself at the center of a prostitution ring allegedly run out of his subsidized apartment, and charged as a pimp.

``I know what I was doing was off color, was wrong, but it wasn't that I was making money,'' a puzzled Robert E. Geary, 63, tried to rationalize yesterday inside his rundown love pad, where police say he co-opted hookers to satisfy their johns.

``My wife died last year. I was living alone. These young girls paid attention to me - that's the God's truth,'' he added.

But police say at least two 20-something hookers were paying Geary more than just attention. They say Geary, who also faces eviction, had essentially been running a brothel since August, skimming $20 off the top of each hooker's trick.

``There was a lot of foot traffic in and out, questions about females coming in there with males, and (police) suspected that the prostitutes could be bringing their johns in to do a transaction,'' said Lowell police Capt. William Taylor.

Geary - who took early retirement from his career as an exterminator to care for his dying wife - admits to offering the unsavory women shelter, taking their phone messages, and on two occasions, accepting $20 for groceries.

``If I was running a ***** house, as they say I was, wouldn't I have a few more bucks?'' he asked, looking around at his dilapidated apartment. ``This isn't the place you'd run a ***** house, and I'm behind on my rent.''

Geary said he started to get suspicious of the ladies, however, when they began bringing their customers to his place and asking to use the bedroom. After the third request, he said he stopped it.

While neither prostitute has been arrested, Geary was charged with deriving support from the earnings of a prostitute and keeping a house of prostitution.

Dolores Donnelly, the manager of the 47 units at Bishop Markham Village, said she had confronted Geary about a similar issue in November 2002, when neighbors complained of a woman ``going in and out.''

Geary denied the woman, also in her 20s, was a prostitute, but her visits stopped after she was arrested for trespassing.

Gary Wallace, the executive director at the Lowell Housing Authority, said the eviction process is under way.

Neighbor Mona Gendron, 47, said yesterday she'd see women trying to come in at all hours of the night, asking for ``Bob.''

Geary, who survives on $800 a month, maintains he was the victim and fears eviction.

``To put me on the street would be to (literally) put me on the street,'' he said. ``This will never happen again.''

Although, Geary admitted, he'll not soon forget the excitement he felt around his hooker friends.

``I hate to say that, but it was interesting, you know,'' Geary said. ``I had never been exposed to that type of life.''

Your point is well taken Senior Citizen. When I look at it that way, I have certainly benefitted from clear and simple methods of steering clear of Lucky Eddie.

Of course, my point was more along the lines that NO ONE should be arrested for this. I have always been very sympathetic to residents complaining about SW activity in their neighborhoods (hey, we have to live here - you just drive in at night), but its all completely unnecessary. Every town on this board has industrial areas which are deserted at night. Similarly, if very small areas were designated legal SW areas, the area could be miniscule since no one would fear arrest or harassment. And every hour worked by every cop on hooker patrol could be devoted to patroling residential areas for crimes that dont involve consent. It is simply infuriating to me.

Cruised Lowell twice last night. Once between 7:00 and 9:00. Then again late between 12:00 am and 2:00 am. Both times nada. I mean, the streets were really bare. LE seemed to be out but not around the Appleton/Middlesex spots. Looks like they really did a clean-up in that area. Struck out in Lawrence Satuday and yesterday, so I mosied on down to Lowell yesterday afternoon. LE was staked out on Appleton, and nothing was going on at Jays, but I picked up Linda. Although I live in denver now, I still read your post as Boston is where I had my first SW. So I thought that I would drop a line and give my stats on my first. I made a huge mistake and went to that place in Malden. I saw it on Craigslist. It's in this strange little section of town. I paid $100 to get in, and then it was $20/dance. Started in East Boston, ended in Lowell - report for 2/22/04

I must say, this has got to be the driest spell I have seen in a few years. Went out yesterday afternoon around 1:30 which took me through Lawrence and Haverhill. Nothing to be seen, even if there were, I had company in the car so I couldn't stop. That foray only wet my labido for some action. I took to the streets last night. I started off in East Boston, cruised over the bridge into Chelsea, drove around the Stanley a couple of times, and went down a few side streets. Not a soul around.

I proceeded up Broadway through Revere (I picked up a couple of SWs over the years along this route) and over into Lynn. Spent about 45 minutes cruising Lynn - never saw it so dry - even the street people were not around. A couple of cruisers but not much police activity. I then drove up to Lawrence and spent about 30 minutes in all the known places - again, nothing except a really drunk guy on a bicycle and a few LEs. By this time I figured the night was a wash, but being the addict we all are, I decided to go for broke and hit Lowell. Wow, 0 for 5! Lowell was perhaps the quietest of all. Granted it was getting pretty late, but I didn't see one LE in the 60 minutes I spent there. You could literally walk down the middle of Appleton without getting hit by a car. I found myself asking/singing "where have all the hoowahs gone?" Well, I'm sure some LE monitor this board. So, hats off to you guys. The streets are bare - too bare!

After looking over the sos in lawrence i hit lowell,at about 3:45pm. I saw BROOK she looked pretty sick and in need of a fix.
