I would imagine it's the same Lisa, but who knows. That's one of the few sw names I remember. This was I guess 2 years ago during the fall. I remember it was cold and she was about the only person out that night. Besides that cat suit or whatever the hell that thing was, she was wearing a big coat. I've seen 2 white girls walking together 2 out of the last 3 nights around the Woodlawn area. Both look pretty good, and I've not seen one of them before, and the other I'm not sure about. No, that wasn't the way I was intending to sound back then. I used to feel I needed to explain why I reported such and such about said girl, especially if someone would come back and make it appear that it was just 'my' experience, and no one else had had such experience. Not all sw's are rip off artists. Personally I've never had any of them rip me off. Certainly not in the way of taking my money. Some of them have been too high or drunk to really give an effort to what they were doing. You could probably pick up the same girl each day for a week and she would have 7 different personalities. I've had plenty where I just dropped them off in the middle of nowhere, because they were acting retarded or whatever, and I had had enough. I would never try to physically get it back unless I was stopped still, otherwise it might be a little tricky getting it back and trying to drive. I just got back from the Super Sauna and now remember why I have been avaoiding the AMPs for so long.

I've had to same experience at an AMP or two but have also had many more experiences where the haggling for money was quick. I know Giggles. I've known her for some time now, and knew she was around lately, but haven't bothered with her as she's one of the ones where you might/might not get what you pay for with her. You may have seen the story out of Syracuse in which Andray Blatche yesterday told a TV station that he was not arrested and charged with solicitation in DC early last Thursday morning. Problem is, I'm looking at a police report and court documents right now which outline that Andray Blatche and a man name Gregory Palmer were indeed arrested and charged with solicitation on the morning in question.

Not sure why Andray would deny the charges when they are documented, filed and on the record. According to the document titled: "United States vs. Andray Blatche, the event occured on 8/2/07 at approximately 12:11 at 10 Thomas Circle NW in Washington DC. Blatche and Palmer were both accused of solicting an undercover officer working in the prostitution unit.

From the document, here is how it went down: Blatche and Palmer were in a vehicle when they pulled up at Thomas Circle.

Defendant 1 (identified by police as Blatche) : "Hey, what's up with you?"
Undercover cop: "You tell me."
AB: I'm trying to see what you're doing."
UC: "Do you want (Blank) or (Blank)?"
AB: "Well, I want both."

At this point, according to the document, the cop gave a pre-arranged signal to other officers and Blatche and Palmer were arrested and later charged. A hearing for Aug. 31 has been set. Now, I'm not trying to pile on Andray but I did feel that it was important to show that myself and other reporters who worked on this story did our job correctly. Again, this doesn't mean that AB is guilty, just that he was arrested and charged.

Then last election she beat Frank Matthews, the local radio show host who's always into some controversy. Thise shaded car tags probably are at places like rim shops, maybe Walmart, possibly auto part stores. I remember when blacks had those crowns in their cars and you saw them EVERYWHERE I found them at Walmart and they ended up being air fresheners. That type stuff like the tinted car tags are usually going to be at places people that want 'bling bling' on their cars can find it. What I don't understand is why those tinted car tags and the real dark tinted windows aren't being enforced more than they are. People have real dark tinted windows everywhere it seems lately, and any SUV that comes out has extremely dark tinted windows, and having such is supposed to be against the law.

The council elections are in 2 years. The mayor election is the only one this year. That's how council members are able to run for mayor and still hold onto their council seats, whereas most cities if a council member wanted to run for mayor they would have to give up their council seat to run when they are held at the same time. There should be some risk for council members to run for mayor that if they're willing to they have to choose to run for council or mayor and if they lose they aren't even in the city government till the next election.

Brother they make one better which is clear and makes it so you can't read the plate unless you are directly behind the vehicle and 15 feet away. Something to do with imbedded prisims of something like that. I had to get one when living in Florida after getting a ticket mailed to me. That and illegal tint including the windshield.

Here’s a not-quite-so hypothetical situation. You’re drunk. You’ve hurt yourself and you’re bleeding. A Birmingham police officer asks you a question: “Councilman, can I call you a cab?” In that case there would normally be two answers: Yes (the correct answer) and No (the wrong answer).

But if you’re Birmingham City Councilor Joel Montgomery, then there might even be a third answer, according to a Birmingham police report.

“Fuck this. Go ahead. Take me to jail. I want to go to jail,” the police report quoted Montgomery saying before he was arrested for public intoxication almost two weeks ago. Well, actually that first word was marked over in the report leaked to the Birmingham News this week, but if you know the councilor like we do, it doesn’t take much imagination to fill in the blanks.

At least Montgomery didn’t blame all the wars of the world on the Jews, the way Mel Gibson did.

Montgomery was arrested in the wee hours of the morning Saturday, April 7, after a Birmingham police officer found him in a Five Points South Parking lot adjacent to Cobb Lane. According to police, the councilor was badly bleeding and apparently drunk.

“The [defendant’s] eyes were red and bloodshot and his breath and person smelled strongly of alcoholic beverage,” the report said.

The last half of that sentence could be key as Montgomery’s case moves forward. One defense attorney we spoke with recently, before the report was leaked, predicted “strong smell of alcoholic beverage” would be somewhere in the report. When police officers are trained, it’s all but tattooed on their arms, he told us. Absent a breathalyzer, blood test or eyewitness testimony, it would otherwise be difficult to prove the suspect was in fact drunk.

Also a prosecutor would have to prove that Montgomery was a danger to himself and others (see picture above). Montgomery’s defense attorney, Tommy Spina, has said that Montgomery had only one drink and that he had disoriented himself after tripping over a curb.

According to the police report, Montgomery refused to give police his home phone number and place of birth, but he did remind them where he worked.

“Fuck all you police and firemen,” Montgomery said according to the report. “You owe me. I got you your fucking raise, *****.”

Last year, Montgomery led a council decision to give a substantial raise to police officers, firefighters and rescue personnel. Mayor Bernard Kincaid has challenged the council’s decision, saying it did not have the authority to pass a raise, at least outside of the normal city budget process. The matter is now being litigated in court.

One thing that had not been reported yet was that the arresting officer was a woman. According to the report, Montgomery made several sexually suggestive comments to the officers “both while in the van as well as when in the jail.” The report said that Montgomery told the officers that, if they took his handcuffs off, he would give them “something good to look at.”

Another source familiar with the arrest this week told us that Montgomery told the officer to shut up or he would put something in her mouth to shut her up. The source asked to remain anonymous because he is not authorized to speak to media and would get in trouble with his boss.

Four years ago, Montgomery threatened to sue Birmingham Weekly after we wrote in a column that council staff said he was a sexist. In his tenure on the council, Montgomery has gone through three female council assistants, firing at least one. That assistant, Betty Alexander, later sued Montgomery for sexual harassment. The matter was settled out of court, when the city agreed to pay Alexander $10,000.

In depositions taken in Alexander’s lawsuit, she recounted under oath how Montgomery had used abusive and profane language with her, including calling her a *****. Much of what Alexander said in that case about Montgomery’s language and temper is consistent with the remarks included in the police report.

In a letter then to Birmingham Weekly, Montgomery said that he could not have been a misogynist because he loved his wife. That wife has since left him after it became public last year that Montgomery was having an affair with a neighborhood officer.

As police had said before, Montgomery was taken to Cooper Green Mercy Hospital for observation. According to this report, though, Montgomery refused to leave the police vehicle and refused medical care after hospital nurses tried to talk him out of the car. Montgomery refused treatment but also refused to sign the treatment refusal form.

This would seem to support his attorney’s claim that Montgomery was not given medical care before being taken to the Birmingham City Jail.

At the jail, Montgomery continued to cuss and make sexually explicit comments, the report said. He told the officers that he couldn’t find where he had parked his truck.

“Yet the [defendant] was unaware of his location when he started this,” the report says. “[The officer] stated that she would look for the [vehicle] and, if necessary, would do a report for him when he was sober.”

If Montgomery was in the kind of condition the report says he was in, then it is some wonder that the police didn’t arrest him immediately. Another hypothetical might be, if he were not a councilor, would the cops have offered to call him a cab?

We could extrapolate from the leak that at least some Birmingham police have not been happy, raise or no raise, with some of the defense rhetoric coming from Montgomery’s direction. As a criminal case, this one is somewhat atypical. It is common for defense attorneys to accuse the police of overreacting, but in this instance the police seem to have done the opposite, even offering to call Montgomery a cab.

The report does do Montgomery the favor of putting to rest some of the wild rumors that have been running rampant since his arrest. Some of our favorites included that he was found naked in his truck, that he had been found with a prostitute and that he had been injured fighting off an attempted rape by members of the “gay mafia.”

Still, some questions linger. Were there video tapes from any of the police cars or the Birmingham Jail? And, was this a crime of “moral turpitude”?

The Mayor-Council Act, a kind of constitution for the City of Birmingham, says that a councilor will be removed automatically in that case. The law says (emphasis added):

“Councilmen shall be qualified electors of the city, at least 21 years of age at the time of their election, and shall hold no other public office except that of notary public or member of the National Guard or naval or military reserve. If a councilman shall cease to possess any of these qualifications or shall be convicted of [a] crime involving moral turpitude, his office shall immediately become vacant.”

Perhaps the most bizzare Montgomery comment in the report has something to do with being in Iraq.

“I haven’t been this drunk before I fucking went to Iraq,” Montgomery said, according to the report.

Maybe he’s been on secret missions on behalf of the Bush Administration, but if Montgomery has served in the military or been to the Middle East, he has not mentioned it during his tenure in office or in either of his campaigns.

According to the report, Montgomery threatened to sue the police officers arresting him. Mayor Bernard Kincaid has remained mostly mute on the subject, wishing the councilor a speedy recovery. However, the mayor has said that the incident puts the city into a peculiar legal predicament. The municipal court would have to recuse itself, as would perhaps all of the city’s attorneys. The city council supervises the municipal court. Also, Kincaid has appointed a special prosecutor for Montgomery’s case.

On the council, Montgomery is the chairman of the Public Safety Committee.







Frankly, I think most people would have gotten the charges dropped on the first offense upon going to an alcohol education class or something like that.

I made a trip over to Atlanta on Thursday, and before I headed home I spent the night riding around town looking at the SW sights. Has anyone been following this trial of the Ham LEO that was accused of raping that girl. Well I see where he was aquitted of that charge. What a piece of shit. Here is a guy who, like ALOT of cops picks up a girl who was probably a sw, because he rolled up on two people half clothed in a car by the airport. I have to agree with Spider Man. The streets are full of crooked cops. They prey on the mongers out there. I know this to be true. I was stopped by some the finest and told it was for a broke tail light. Not true until after they stopped me. Gave me a citation. Told me I was in the wrong part of town. Took my cell phone off the car seat and proceeded to go through the directory asking me who the different names were. I was naive and told them thinking they would just leave it alone. I find it really odd that a nurse would be walking on 1st Avenue at daybreak, basically, and be looking to be picked up, and yet not ask for any money. I could understand if this nurse had gotten caught up with drugs, and was needing a fix or something, that she might still be holding onto her job as of the moment, yet be getting more and more hooked on dope. I spoke with her this morning for a little while and tried to be interested without being nosy. Moat areas around town you can usually find some type action, even if the pickings aren't what you're looking for. Ensley is no exception. Search around Avenue E and Avenue I in that area, and in the areas in and around Jackson Olin High School, and there's always somebody walking around at all hours, especially late at night as well. Time and the patience to look around usually will help you find the areas where girls walk.

As for the finds such as you had last week, those are the luck of the draw usually, as whoever happens to be in the area at the time and is lucky enough to happen upon the scene gets the prize. I find it impossible to defend any law enforcement agency anymore. Several months ago, several friends were checking out bars in Lakeview and happened up these two black guys who were being extremely pushy with a few younger girls outside one of the bars. Observing the elevated voices common in Africa, we moved in to see what was happening. One of my buddies was trying to ‘move in’ on the girls to diffuse the situation (it was obvious that the girls were ready to be somewhere else) and was cut-off by a bruva. Not ones to step down from a fight, the rest of us surrounded the small crowd and acted as if we knew the girls-they were barely smart enough to realize what we were doing and play along. Each of the guys immediately pulled out their badges and tried to turn it into a scene.

Without incident, I asked for their badge numbers and would be filing a formal complaint for their behavior. They just walked away. I feel safe in assuming that all cops are bad cops.

Yes, I heard an update on the 'shame' campaign ordinance last night on the news. It seems it had to be sent to the Public Safety Committee for review, then to the law department to make sure it was constitutional I believe, then back to the Public Safety committee for a vote before it was sent to the council for a vote into law. It seems it's passed the first step as the Public Safety committee sent it to the law department. I might have all these departments and committees all wrong, but there were several places it had to be sent through before it got to the council. I've started watching replays of the council meetings just to see what type attitudes they all have, and I'm certain when it gets before them it'll pass, they let things pass without much knowledge behind it anyway. They denied a business licence to a club in Avondale for no real reason, and the only reason such a big deal is being made over the Texaco in East Lake is they had a bunch of black women come before them and do their best Abraham Woods imitations spewing stuff that really couldn't be true about the owner of said Texaco. Anyway, the thing I see this ordinance causing is it's going to make people like us feel more wary about having a SW in our vehicles, as the cops will use that as an excuse to stop us for no reason other than having a SW in our car if they happen to see such a situation. I had a conversation with a SW the other day about such a situation, and she still holds the idea that they always do that'we're not doing anything wrong'. She was saying they'd hav to have decoys out there and have them do stings for them to get a 'john' to fall into that type of trap. I always try to convey upon them that the cops aren't going to think that way, that they're going to use that to their advantage as they know who the SW are, and just by knowing they could arrest a 'john' and have his picture posted on a billboard, TV or a website it's going to make them feel alot more comfortable harassing the 'johns' than ever before. Just by that ordinance passing, it's going to make the cops feel that if they happen to see you pass them and a girl they know as a SW is in your car, they're now going to more than ever use this as an opportunity to stop you for no other reason than that girl being in your car. The SW's don't think that's good enough reason, but they can't seem to realize that if they've ever been stopped and questioned before by cops and found to be a SW, that they are then forever branded by said cops as a SW regardless of what they're doing- even just getting a ride from someone. Those that you saw along 70th probably were as you suspected, at that time of day. In the daytime it's more harder to figure out who is a SW and who isn't than at midnight, especially during the summertime. You're more likely to run across women walking back and forth from the store or bus stop, or school age girls walking home from school or someone's house, not to mention girls that are actually out there trying to make a little money on the side (and not uncommonly maybe a combination of any of the ones I just mentioned). When I used to be out more in the daytime, I'd usually use a small toot of the horn and eye contact to figure out who might be and who wasn't. That's generally all I would do, and if they didn't bite, I'd move on, because I was always afraid I might run upon someone who had some attitude or thought I was trying to attack them or something- both sure bets the cops would be called. Also, 2nd Avenue South is one of the main thoroughfares in the area, as it runs by old Cascade Plunge and comes out on Oporto across from the active Chevron and heads on into East Lake. Someone looking at you does not necessarily mean they're dating, and not knowing your race, just by someone white driving through a predominantly black neighborhood is going to gather stares alone. And honestly, I wouldn't worry about someone's age if they're out there doing the things SW's do, as it's not likely anything you might happen to do is going to corrupt them any less than they've already been or will be corrupted. To each his own, and like I said, daytime is always much harder to scope out and figure out who is and who isn't 'working'. If you're ever out at night, say past 11, you'll be surprised how easy it is to figure out who is a SW and who isn't, because 95% of the females that are out at that time and past that ARE SW. All the side roads you mention save 50th Street are usually dead around that time.

Another comment about the guys who wander around. Not all of them are out selling dope or waiting for someone. Some are just out there for no good, and waiting for a potential unknowing person to pass to take advantage of. The best point of action is to try to ignore them when you pass, and not stop any longer than necessary in such area that they're hanging around.

Paid a visit to Ocean last evening and must have caught her closing early. Her name was 'Early' and said she was Filipino : I cannot gauge asian women's age or cunrty of origin, but she seemed to be probably 40-45. She was anxious to get me in, but I declined since she was older and hurried.

There hasn't been much happening for me to report on either. I usually don't say much about things when others report on SW not being out, etc because usually it's nothing more than that person not cruising long enough to see girls out or just not being in the right place at the right time which both are probably always the case. I will say that I thought of girls that used to always be seen out recently who I haven't seen in a few weeks or many months and they include Ebony, Lesley, Wanda/Wendy (the girl with the blonde hair and big boobs), Grandma, Angel, and a few others who I know by sight but not by name. I noticed in recent city council meetings they had a few mentions of SW activity and related topics. William Bell reported there were 'problems strolling' on 8th Avenue West around 10th Street and Center Street. Fellow council member Royal then reported that he was in the same area and saw that problem strolling and he was at the intersection right behind one of the city's finest who proceeded out on the road and passed right by the problem, all the while 'eating something in a wrapper'. Royal followed the cop and got his car number, basically to see if he was going to some other call that might be pressing. What he fails to see is even though cops can be pains in the asses for SW on many occasions, alot of them will simply pass by a SW if she's doing nothing more than walking- especially if it's daytime hours, because they know that talking to them will do nothing more than get them off the street for a half hour at most and it's not worth their trouble. Last week they also had an item which was related to the 'shame' campaign, though I couldn't tell what it actually was as it's not supposed to appear before the council as a whole untill it gets forwarded through several committees. All I understood was it was soem sort of item where they would have passed something supporting it, but Councillor Pock-face Carol wasn't in attendance so they postponed it to today's meeting. If they'd spend more time on more pressing issues than the sex trade and harassing store owners trying to curb lowlifes stealing from their stores, then maybe they could get some real things done.

1. The popo department will hold people detained or arrested for traffic violations or other minor crimes: normally transferring more serious violators to county.

2. There are a number of business owners in eastlake who want the sw trade to go away: they are placing pressure on the city to do something about it. The city really has bigger issues to worry about, but will go to any extreme to keep the peace-especially if these business owners continue to bark loud enough.

You can usually question the validity of someones age on sites such as Craigslist, Matchdoctor, and the like, especially if they're 18,19,28,29, and so forth. Ones trying for a hookup in their 30's sometimes portray themselves as in their 20's and ones in their 20's sometimes portray themselves as in their teens, even younger teens try to pass themselves off as older. I know if I was her and thought I could pass for 28 and was posting an ad I'd certainly say I was 28 instead of 37. She's getting to the point where she'd going to have to up her fake age I believe, lol. Though now if she was walking the street she'd be some prime rib on some people's lists. And come to think of it, streetwalker prices is more what she's worth, especially with that arm fitting inside her, lol.
