Oops. Sorry DMZHost. When joining a forum, try reading the 'rules' if any. I know it sucks like reading the instruction manual to something that sounds easy enough but it's there for a good reason.
Now let's try to have some real info here and enough about this crap with Ally. All parties involved should just drop it, especially all those new members that just joined and never posted an ounce of USEFUL info.
Sorry, I am still fairly new here and don't know the protocol. Most of the posts i've seen just have the links to the ads and not much else so I assumed that was the way things were done. It would have been nicer if you just told me to do so instead of calling me "lame". I know you're one of the more respected posters here, but did my post really warrant that reaction?
FYI, I came on to post that I attempted to TOFTT. Two call system, but she never answered on the second call. I called three times first rang 6 went to voicemail, second rang 3 then to vm, third went straight.

I agree with Click, we need to go on. Nevertheless, when a provider uses a different nom de plume du jour that is fake to fool you about this over priced service we have to bring it to light. One of the great things about CL, and the internet in general, is the free flow of ideas, commerce, you name it. The govt hates that. I think the feds are chomping at the bit to get in your face on this deal. You go almost any place else in the world and you feel much freer than in the US. Just a quick follow-up on my last rant. You go to the totalatarian states like China and Cuba and you'll see what control is all about. The Chinese do this by having 2 systems. If you go into a hotel there, they have a "general" system in place, for the masses, and another for the foreigners. When I wanted to use the computer, I had to have one of the trusted hotel personnel come over and use a "key" to get into the www. On the other hand in Cuba, the masses are not allowed on to the internet. There were signs over the hotel computers saying not for use by Cuban citizens. I don't think we need a similar system in the US
You know a guy posted the same thing on the LA board. What you have to do is search one area....north county, city of SD etc. Look at the difference between yesterday's posts and a few days ago, before the change happened. In the 562 area of LA, there were 36 ads yesterday and 190 on 11/5.

They claimed that they gave all of the previous $5 fees to charity so if that was true they weren't getting any revenue from erotic ads. They have backed off that statement for the new adult section but do say that they will continue to contribute much of the fee to charity.

The first ad costs them $10 once it is "approved" they can then repost that same ad for $5. If they want to change it or run a different ad it goes back to $10 again. The other thing, CL is limiting their posts to 1000 characters, that includes any html characters, spaces between words, etc. It's hard to say a whole lot in 1000 characters.
When CL rejects an ad they don't tell them why, they have to guess and then resubmit the ad and go through the approval process again and again until they do approve it. They also cannot link any pics from anywhere, imagedeposit, photobucket, etc. All pics have to be downloaded to CL with the ad, and of course they are limiting that to one pic only. Also, they cannot modify/edit the ad in any way once it is approved.
Seems as time goes on they are getting a little more lax on what they will approve, so it must depend on the individual reviewing the ads. There seems to be a lot of inconsistencies from city to city on whats allowed and not allowed. My advise is go to Backpage, its still wide open there as far as what's allowed.

First thing I do when I enter a hotel room is check it out to make sure that there are NO surprises waiting for me. Look behind the door, under the bed, and in the bathroom.
Had he done this he would not have been taken by surprise and could have gotten out of the room without loosing any money.
As far as the age of the girl goes, if she presents herself as an ADULT in the ad, and looks to be of age, and since he did not do anything he is in the clear for now. The one thing you don't want is to have your name put in the system. If this goes to trial it could get uncomfortable for him.

If it's a sting, at some point they have to get you with intent and some overt attempt of solicitation. To all those with this on your record I highly suggest you google "criminal history cleaners" the guys name is Ron and he is based in Orange County and for $120 you say adios to that conviction. So long as you have lived a clean life since the arrest. You will thank yourself after the 6 week process is finalized.

Wow, I always hear about people getting ripped off and so far I've been lucky and only had one bad experience. Well, this one easily topped it off. For escorts, I usually go with the rate they post in an ad. Sometimes this actually differs with the rate they'll quote you over the phone. So I usually say, "I saw your rate for $ in X ad." They're usually like "Oh okay."
Occasionally, I may say, "Will you see me for $80?". They usually say "Yes for 15 minutes." or "That's too low."
But I NEVER mention specifics over the phone. One time when I was with a provider, she answered the phone (Ugh) and they were negotiating rates for specific sex acts. That's a recipe for getting busted. If I do negotiate, it's based purely on the rate for her time.
With AMPs, it's a little different. Depending on the girl and place, you may have to have more explicit negotiations. But at AMPs, it's mostly the providers who are at risk (I hardly ever hear about mongers getting busted at AMPs). It's just negotiations take you out of the mood. I prefer when the girls just say "what do you want?" and then let me leave the tip afterward. This usually only happens though if the mamasan gives you the "thumbs up".
I agree too that aggressive negotiations will most likely net you rushed or poor service. She'll just see you as a tight-wad and will have little interest in having you as repeat customer.
