I will put them to good use. I never worried much about Uncle Leo before I was stopped. Now I will always keep an eagle-eye out for him.
Your detailed contribution will definitely go a long way towards helping out all newcomers to the hobby.
Because I'm a little concerned about encountering the officer who stopped me, I called the Columbia police department and asked about the department's shifts. I'm going to try to avoid looking for ladies during this particular officer's shift, or I'm going to be extra careful during his shift.
Anyway, the front desk told me that the 4 shifts are:
from 7 AM to 3 PM
from 3 PM to 11 PM
from 11 PM to 7 AM
and the fourth shift, the SWING shift, is
from 6:30 PM to 3:30 AM.
The Swing shift (which overlaps with 2 other shifts) allows for a larger number of officers to be out patrolling the streets.
"Re-bids" on shifts usually happen once a year, I was told. I am assuming this applies to the 3 regular shifts. If I understood correctly, officers take turns working the swing shift, so the officers working that shift change more often than once a year, perhaps much more often.
Anyway, be safe out there, and take El Apodo's advice to heart! I must have re-read his post at least 5 times over the past couple days.
Incidentally, I'm guessing officers probably take electronic notes on their stops (on networked laptops found inside the cruisers). So I wouldn't be surprised if I were stopped again but by a different officer--that he probably would read the first officer's notes about the prior stop.
So when you talk to one officer, I guess it's like you're talking to the whole department.

Hi guys!
Making several trips to Columbia in the next two months and was wondering about the activity climate since the LE stings the last few months. I'm not interested in the street scene, or Lynn's, but have vast experience in the AMP scene in Columbia. Haven't tried any girls in the paper yet, although I've made a few calls to "feel out" the situation.
Whenever I'm in the area, I hit Sunny up at Foxy. Haven't seen her for nearly a year. I hope the LE troubles haven't changed her program. Who's "Kim" who previous posts have identified as a worker there? This isn't the same Kim from Tokyo, is it? If you don't want to post any details on here, then PM me. At 7:45 or 8:45 PM, I saw an HWP WSW on Providence Road of all places, a block or two south of Business Loop. First she was on the east side of the road, then the west.
I drove back to get a closer look and turned onto a side street she was near. She came to the passenger door asking if she could get in. But the door was locked as I always like to get a look at the lady first. Once they're in your car, things can get complicated if you change your mind, I think.
Nice enough lady, nice enough face (pretty good actually). The only problem was she seemed a bit past her prime. She seemed a litte worn, not too much but enough that I decided it was a no-go. Some other gents might think differently though. I'd say she was between 45 and 55 years of age.
Not a motel date, but who knows, maybe if I had picked her up I could have talked her into a $25 handjob in the back seat at a safe parking spot. Yeah, I guess I should have picked her up, but I keep looking for motel dates. And since there don't seem to be /any/ hourly motels in Columbia, renting a room for two will cost about $40. So the girl has to be fine.
An identifying mark on the lady appears to have been a large, roundish, 1.5-inch diameter brownish birth mark on her face just to the side of her chin. Any of you gents know her?
In related news, almost everytime I pass that house on Wilkes between 7th and 8th Streets, I see 2 or 3 ladies sitting on the porch. Most are black and one is white. I get the impression the white lady has a black skinny boyfriend who also appears on the porch occasionally with her. Are these porch ladies working or not? Hard to say. They've never approached my car when I've stopped on the opposite side of the street a little ahead of the house.
And how about that thin white brunette babe on 7th Street between Wilkes and Hickman Avenue? She's very HWP with the best legs in shorts. I occasionally see her standing on the sidewalk with and without a fatter blonde friend of hers. It looks like they /could/ be working the three or so times I've seen them, but I don't think they /actually are/ working because it seems one lives in that house right there on 7th. I never noticed hobbyists driving around before, but now that I hobby myself, I think I've begun to notice other hobbyists. There's that guy with the late-model cherry red pickup. And those 2 guys hauling around in their slightly older, two-tone white and silver Chevy Tahoe-like pickup. And that guy in the older light brownish Grand Lemans-like car (this guy has a reddish beard and mustache--or was it strawberry blonde--I can't recall). And let's not forget the taxi cab driver who rolls around in a dark blue cab with light bulb on top. I saw him honking at a slightly chubby blonde walking on Ash, but she does not appear to work because she yelled something back at him. I think he must have asked her something that she didn't like.
Am I describing any of you fellers? [chuckle]
I guess you can tell I've burned $200 worth of gas the last 6 weeks.
Incidentally, Monday evening an older fat black lady on Garth yelled something at me as I passed. I think she figured I had passed once too often and was looking for hookers. The lady probably lives in a house on Garth a couple blocks or so south of the Biz Loop.
Dang, I hope they're not copying down license plate numbers and handing them to LE? Whatchya think? I wonder what the consequences could be if they are.

Would you believe a few weeks ago, as I was driving downtown on Broadway, when I passed McNally's Pub at Broadway and 6th Street, an older black gentleman sensed my vibe that I was lookin' for hookers, and he yelled "Hey" while pointing to a tall, HWP white lady about 10 feet away from him. Right on Broadway of all places! Now this is Columbia's Broadway, not St. Louis' Broadway.
But that's been the only action I've ever seen on Broadway since I've been looking in Columbia the past 6 weeks.
The problem with the lady was she was a bit older, and I was looking for a hotel date. Since there are NO hourly motels in Columbia, a room for two costs $40, so the lady has to be fine.

It would be naive to assume that only other birdwatchers read this forum.

I think Roscoe was responding to CB's use of the phrase "I didn't even try to jew her down". This can be offensive to a lot of people, in the same way that "Indian-giver", "welch/welsh on a bet", or "gypped" can be. For lots of the people who use it, the phrase is just another part of language and not offensive or intended to be. If it wasn't intended to be insulting, it is easier to choose not to be offended -- and I say this as a man with Jewish ancestry.

As a member of the tribe, I too take offense at that verb. You hear it a lot in the country, but not so much in cities, at least not where someone might be thought to take offense.
It's not political correctness we're talking about; it's just plain, common decency. I've lived overseas, both in Asia and the Middle East, and that has made me a lot more sensitive to words that might offend, much more so than where I grew up in rural Missouri.

As I said, I happen to be Christian on both sides, yet even I was offended by someone's use of the phrase "try to jew her down" in price. CB #3 is a great guy (I love him and his posts), but he could have been a bit more judicious in his wording. Sorry, CB #3 :)
I just think we should all be welcoming of each other's religious traditions, and not try to step on any feet.
In all truthfulness, I'm actually atheistic/agnostic today even though I was raised as a Christian. However, I still try to respect folk's silly religious beliefs, no matter what they are [chuckle] :) : - )
In my mind, religious beliefs are just superstitions, and today's religion is tomorrow's mythology. I suppose I just think too scientifically nowadays.
I do think it's important to be HumanE to one other--in other words to act
ethically and with good will towards your fellow human beings. But that can be
accomplished without succumbing to religious fairy tales / fantasy.

I picked up Danielle today at about 1:45 PM on Ash. She was hanging around that small apartment complex just east of Mcbaine.

Then she said her brother had been a cop, then she said her brother later worked for the C.I.A. Whew. I just didn't know what to believe with this lady. Had she been to prison for 12 years? Oh well, at least I learned some good intelligence about the neighborhood from her.
By the way, yesterday (Thursday) at about 6:15 PM, I saw a young 20-something WSW standing right at the intersection of Ash and Garth. I agree with you, in that it is best to avoid using potentially offensive phrases. It just makes sense to not risk alienating people if you don't have to.
However, it is also my belief that a person can choose not to be offended when someone does use an offensive phrase. To me, it is a way of empowering myself. I can decide that I will not allow another person's words to make me feel bad about myself, my family, or my life choices. If I choose not to be insulted, you can't insult me.
But that doesn't mean that I will insult someone else. Like you said "act ethically and with good will towards your fellow human beings." Or to quote Abraham Lincoln, "Be excellent to one another."

Cops in most towns know EXACTLY where the girls are, but most realize that they have higher priorities in law enforcement than busting a few SGs. Any self-respecting police force has their ears firmly wired to the ground and know more about the nefarious activities of their citizens than you and I will EVER know.
Of course, Columbia's finest might be the exception to this rule and devote hours combing through the posts on this website. If that is the case then that makes them one of the truly pathetic police forces in the nation. If you are a citizen of Columbia and this is the case, I pity you.

As someone noted recently on another board re Columbia, Fuji Sauna existed quite openly for more than two decades until a few months ago.
During the last three years or so, an amazing Thai woman there was the main draw. I saw her many times, as did others who have commented on this board.
She told me more than once that she had a number of customers who were in local and state government, including the Columbia Police Department. Among her clients were ranking members of that department.
So one just has to wonder what changed to bring the crackdown. These places never exist without law enforcement making a judgment about its priorities. In the case of Columbia for years, providers in AMPs and elsewhere were easily available, yet the police left them alone.
And why not? Who was hurt? I think even a few marriages were saved. These women provide a great and needed service.
A lot of the women who worked with my friend at Fuji sent money home to their families, made better lives for their brothers and sisters and parents, etc. That woman herself left the business about a year ago and, last time I checked, was living comfortably.
The hypocrisy around this incident a few months ago is simply staggering. That's why what happens between two consenting adults should be a private matter and nothing else.

I still insist this change came from the city administration. The Police Dept. has to respond to the wishes from above, it's the way of life in municipal government. I know for a certainty that the former manager stayed away from many cans of worms, I've heard him expound on this (not directly about mp's, I wouldn't go there.) I did have a conversation with a policeman on mp's once (Fuji in particular) but that was over a decade ago. At that time, if they weren't causing problems or complaints, they were allowing them to be there quietly. They were kind of like the Olde Un after its first 5-10 years, they just blended into the scenery. And, I don't think anything ever changed on this policy until the long-time city manager retired. That being said, the remaining amps seem to be co-existing inside the city limits again since the first of the year (as long as they have a valid license.) I believe priorities have changed once again in city government and there are different fish to fry (see: two new anti-development councilpersons, several car-to-car shootings, and how about the near-riot at Breaktime on Smiley Lane this weekend)
You know what I like best about this board the past month or so? Actual reports of encounters with providers!

1. I have attended a few sessions where LE has spoken about computers. I have a feeling that LE is a lot more computer savvy then he lets on. It is a risk I assume posting and reading posts. It is quite possible that LE is reading this and chuckling. But, yes everyone should assume LE knows what we are witting about and what happens.
2. Police departments also respond to citizen's complaints. A new preacher in town could focus unwanted attention on the businesses that where quietly serving the community 20 years ago when I was a college student. How Lynn's, the most anonymous of the MP was one of the first busted still puzzles me.

The question: In about three weeks I will be in Columbia for training. Which MPs would be open in the late afternoon? I feel I will need for some relaxation after several hours of powerpoint.

Guess what I just learned. The Tuesday evening STD testing clinic is available to absolutely anybody in America (probably the world, for that matter). You do NOT have to reside in Columbia or even Missouri to take advantage of the sex clinic's free services.
So if any of you out-of-state travelers passing through our fair city want to avail yourselves of important STD testing, Boone County and the city of Columbia welcome you!
Just remember the testing is only once a week between 5 and 7 PM on Tuesdays.

I just wanted to let you fellas know that there are 3 buildings at the intersection of Ash and Garth that serve as a drug rehab facility for women (only for women, not men). The first 2 buildings sitting on the northwest corner of the intersection are part of the drug rehab facility. These are 2 large, modern-looking, brick buildings on Ash with a small parking lot in front of them. The third building sits at the northeast corner of the intersection (directly across the street from one of the big brick buildings). This third building is an old-fashion-looking, wooden, white building right next to the Imani Center.
For heaven's sake, please do NOT try picking up any women hanging around these buildings because they are NOT SWs or providers. They are in the drug rehab program. These buildings do not have any signs describing their purpose, so I thought I'd let you know in case you were unaware.

I don't know Lauren's last name so I can't say whether she is the lady mentioned in the arrest report for prostitution and stealing. Like Headfirst says, it's unusual that the lady was arrested for both offenses. Usually ladies mentioned in the Tribune for prostitution are arrested just for that offense.
I guess if someone really wanted to know what happened, they could go to the police department and ask to read the official police report, which is a matter of public record and available for $2, the department told me over the phone. Any intrepid souls willing to undertake that mission?
An odd thing about Ms. Spurling's mention in the Tribune is the absence of her address being printed. Usually addresses are printed in the Trib's arrest reports. If I saw the address, I could tell you if it is "our" Lauren or not.
Finally, I don't think the police department sent out "the strike force" just to arrest little ole Lauren, who is a mere 20 years old. If you go up and down Garth and Ash (especially Garth) late at night on the weekends, you'll see prostitutes hanging out there in numbers: 5 or more easily--most are Black.
It is possible, however, that somebody in the neighborhood may have complained about her, but I really have no idea. Somebody should consider going to the police department and buying a copy of the official police report.

Edited Update: Well, I called the PD's records department today, and they told me something quite opposite of what I was told by the PD last night. The records department told me police reports are property of the court and may or may not become public after court proceedings take place, depending on what the judge decides. So, here, we have the PD contradicting itself, depending on who you talk to.

When I happend to see Lauren the other day and spoke to her about her arrest for prostitution and stealing, she seemed to want to avoid discussing the stealing, so I didn't press it. The facts seem a bit tangled to me. She says she was bringing a John to see Danielle since the John wanted a session with Danielle (why somebody would want to see Danielle over Lauren, herself, I have no idea).
Anyway, Lauren says the John told the police that Lauren is a prostitute. I asked if the John had been arrested, too. No, she replied. Like I said, the facts seem kinda tangled, but the best picture I can piece together is Lauren may have tried stealing something from this fella, and he called the cops on her. And when the police showed up, he probably mentioned to them that Lauren also is a prostitute, and that may be why the police charged her with both offenses.
As I mentioned, Lauren said the fella was never arrested, so I have to wonder if he was actually a John seeking services.
The bottom line is it sounds like she wasn't arrested while in the act of committing prostitution, but, instead, on an accusation by the gentleman that she was a prostitute, in addition to the gentleman's possible accusation that she stole something from him.
But like I said, it's all fuzzy, and this is just a guess. It would be interesting to read the police report.

ADDENDUM: Lauren does not appear to have been kicked out of the Ash complex for prostitution, but for not being on the lease when her step-mom (who was on the lease) went to jail. Someone I spoke to said the step-mom went to jail for DUI or something like that. As for Danielle, who has been described as a wacky crack-head, she was kicked out for not paying the rent. Not sure why I'm doing a history lesson as this goes way (way) back but I believe the Hong Kong was in the Forum Shopping Center, close to the Forum Theater at the time (not where the Forum 8 is now). Bryson reduced the charges from promoting prostitution to attempting to promote prostitution, but offered a word of warning to Rowe before she left.
“You would serve jail time if you come back,” Bryson told Rowe in court.
The business no longer maintains its Web site, which advertised a “businessman special fantasy” and “fantasy showers.”
At the time of her arrest, Rowe was in possession of cocaine, police said. Rowe was not charged in Boone County with possession of cocaine, according to Missouri Case.net.

Honestly, I really must doubt she uses cocaine or any other drug. If you recall from the original newspaper story in December, three ladies were arrested in addition to Lynn. Two of the ladies, 19 and 21 years old, were charged with prostitution, and
the third lady was arrested for possession of cocaine. Lady Number 3 was 23 and arrived at the parlor after police were already there.
So it is possible the cocaine found at the parlor did not belong to Lynn at all, but perhaps one of the prostitutes. That would explain why police didn't charge Lynn with possession of cocaine because they honestly couldn't determine who it belonged to.

The drug possession thing kind of reminds me when police arrested legendary St. Louis musician Chuck Berry and charged him with possessing child pornography at his restaurant when really there was just one image on a computer located somewhere in the restaurant, or something like that. I've forgotten the details, but they were quite bogus. Maybe somebody remembers the details. Something like that makes sensational headlines, but may be far from the truth.
Don't get me wrong. Child pornography is bad. Very bad. But having read the details of the story several years ago, I came to the conclucsion that Chuck Berry was not at all guilty of possessing child pornography. The charge was more of a smear, than factual.
We've seen what some prosecutors are capable of with Mr. Mike Nifong.

I don't know what characteristics you expect to see in a person who uses cocaine, but they aren't always tweaking or acting twitchy. It isn't like in the movies. Lots of people use cocaine (and meth, and heroin, and pot, and even alcohol) with no one the wiser except them and their dealer.
It is entirely likely that the cocaine was not Lynn's but rather belonged to one of the other people at the house. However there is no reliable way to look at someone and know that they are or are not on drugs.

Yes, that was the place at the east end of Columbia, south side of the road, next to the Asian grocery store. That's where I first met the incredible Vicky, before she moved to Fuji about 2003. We had a couple of sessions there in 2001 or 2002, and they were absolutely mind-blowing.

It appears they spent just about all the cash I gave them on an illegal substance, except for $30 they spent on food.
He tells me for 40 dollars, I can have full-service with Sarah.
I say thank you, but I'm spent for the night. I politely ask him to give me a call again next Saturday or Sunday.
I guess the moral of the story is to stay away from drug addiction, because addicted people do unusual things.

LT: What I've observed is pretty much what you've said except I'm pretty sure I saw the open sign lit one night last week and a customer-type car parked about in the middle of the lot. That particular evening, Sunny's ride was not in the lot, so I thought maybe someone was filling in...or getting their fill. The open sign barely shows when it is lit the past few months, so it's hard to tell. Sunny's car has been gone for 2 to 3 weeks, I thought I saw it there one afternoon about a week ago but maybe not. My travels take me through there one to three times a week during the day and two or three nights a week. I had planned to pay Sunny a visit but never could find her there, weekends were best for me and I checked several times in June with no luck. If Foxy's goes by the wayside, we're pretty much left with the girls from the Tribune and whatever offerings Shogun and Tokyo put out, which in my view are way below what the closed enterprises put out. From other reports, it sounds like Shogun only has the aged-challenged Mamasan and Tokyo's veteran rubmaster. My first ever encounter with an Amp was at Tokyo a number of years ago when it was in the red building on the eastside. I felt like I got ripped off as a novice and the lady had very little in personality. A month or two later, I tripped across Sunny and can't say I ever left there unhappy.

Sobo: You may be catching Columbia in the middle of the worst drought we've had in some years, see earlier posts today about Foxy Sauna. My advice would be to check at Foxy and see if they're open but it could be a dry run. There have been a few good posts on girls from the Columbia Tribune in the past few months if you want to consider an alternative to a MP or AMP.

I can see two great advantages for her in this line of work: 1) I might have to switch hair stylists. The clinic currently has enough funding to offer the free Hepatitis B vaccine (which is a series of shots totaling about $100, they told me). But I declined the Hep. B vaccine. Maybe I should have accepted it? What do the medical types here think? The clinic offers the hep. vaccination to everybody who walks through the door.
They also offer free treatment/drugs for gonorrhea and chlamydia.
The one test that is not free over there is the one for herpes. If you want that test, you gotta pay for it. I have never seen any unusual signs of herpes on myself, so I skipped that test.
And, of course, the HIV/AIDS testing is free, too. But they won't tell you those results over the phone--only in person. Everything else, they'll tell you over the phone.
Look your best when you go there. You'll run into a number of young, good-looking women who are also there to get tested.
Another good place you can go on short notice is the Urgent Care clinic at MU (near the MU hopital parking garage). It's a same-day, walk-in clinic, but it's not free like the Tuesday evening Columbia/Boone County health department STD clinic.
I think Mediquick on Providence is a same-day, walk-in clinic, too.

Hep B is serious and easy to catch. Any body fluid can transmit it. It is impossible to cure. That is because there is no cure.
Hepatitis B vaccine is a must have for the active monger or provider. Definitely go get it. Be sure to go back for the second shot too or it won't work.
Saw the girl in the Trib who's # ends in 8172. She is about 4'11", maybe 120, but is older. Certainly older than the 26 she told me over the phone. Long blonde hair, and pretty good at what she does. Quoted rates were 80 for the half, a hundy for 45 minutes, and 120 for the hour. Full service is available at all price ranges.
I would say she is a 6, with a nice demeanor.

Hotel policy leaves customer seething

With the wood floors of his Moberly home wet from a coat of polyurethane, Don Larimer tried to rent a room at the Best Western Moberly Inn but was surprised to learn the hotel doesn’t rent to locals.
Frustrated and confused, he peeled out of the parking in his minivan and drove to Moberly’s Holiday Inn Express, where he got the same answer: Guests have to live at least 30 miles away to rent a room.
Still upset, the 52-year-old drove all the way to Columbia at around 9:30 p.m., pulled into the Days Inn and asked the desk attendant whether her hotel rents to locals. "She gave me the funniest look," Larimer recalled, "like, ‘That’s a stupid question.’ "
Although Larimer was surprised by the practice, local refusal policies are a common way for hotels to deter drug use, prostitution and other criminal activity, said Columbia police Officer Tim Thomason, who works with local hotels on crime prevention.
Thomason said he’s unaware of any hotels in Columbia that practice the policy, but he said hotels can refuse service to local residents if they can establish a pattern of local guests causing problems. He added that most crime at hotels is local crime.
Best Western Moberly Inn General Manager Dianne Griffith declined to comment to the Tribune about her hotel’s policy, but she explained the reason in an e-mail to Larimer.
"We had a problem with locals renting rooms, having parties and destroying them. They have also conducted illegal activity in them, such as drug use and distribution," Griffith wrote. "In order for us to maintain our property for our out-of-town guests, I had no choice but to implement this policy."
Thomason, who has taught the crime-free hotel program offered by the Columbia Police Department for almost eight years, said criminals might choose hotels for their activity for various reasons. For example, they know that for some crimes, their property can be seized if they’re caught, he said.
"People don’t want to have their property taken away, so they move their illegal activities to" hotels, Thomason said. "Typically in drugs and prostitution, you don’t want clients to know where you live, so you run your business from those types of places."
Thomason added that some criminals choose hotels because they can move quickly if they feel law enforcement is onto them, and some hotels have a reputation for being lax in calling law enforcement about illegal activity.
As a result, Thomason said, he teaches hotels to ask for items at check-in such as vehicle registration, ID or a credit card. He also encourages hotels to post rules for its guests, such as how late guests can stay in an occupant’s room. In turn, he said, those deterrence methods can be used as a marketing tool for legitimate guests.
Once someone is arrested in a Columbia hotel, Thomason e-mails all the hotels in the city so they can put the offender on their no-rent lists.
Still, crime in Columbia hotels continues to be a problem. Thomason said he could come across prostitution in Columbia at "any hotel, any time of the day."
He added that drug transactions and usage are found at hotels a few times a month but probably happen more often than that.

But if Prostitution is against the law and the good police Captain is aware of these business' isn't he complicent (sp) in the crime as well?
I wonder how much time she'll get if found guilty.
I think that they should let it go, allow them to do business behind closed doors,keep the ads and the girls off of the street. License the girls,get them tested and tax them like they do in Nevada. Plainly put it is a personal choice to seek these women out, we have done so since the dawn of time. It is not going to change if they put all these business out. Reap the benefits from legalizing it and allow the police to go after those that commit armed robberies,home invasions and those that sell drugs to the school kids.
Odds are, he isn't fighting. 99% of people charged with a crime who hire a lawyer plead not guilty at their arraignment. This gives the lawyer a chance to negotiate a plea with the prosecutor, and also to do discovery (see the arrest reports, etc.). Boone County doesn't give out discovery until after the arraignment. So, these folks likely aren't fighting, so much as they're waiting to see if they have a good enough case to fight, or if they need to cop a plea.

One day after I mentioned here that the Tribune still hadn't reported Lynn's guilty plea--even though she pleaded guilty almost 4 whole weeks ago--the Tribune finally runs a story today mentioning the plea and the 2 years probation she received [chuckle]. The Missourian reported Lynn's plea and probation 4 weeks ago (almost same-day news; the story ran the following day). We should thank Headfirst, again, for reminding us of The Missourian, a paper I hadn't read in years. I would always just turn to the higher-circulation Tribune.

I'm so glad I erred on the side of caution. Something just seemed wrong. Why would I have to go to a site, charge a buck to my CC, just so I could get the woman's number? Shouldn't the provider have given me a number via E-mail if she, for some strange reason, didn't feel comfortable doing so online? Vicki was, by far, the very, very best -- so attentive in the shower, so thorough at the massage, even down to massaging each finger and toe, and then the rest of the time with her was unbelievable. Obviously set up and at a private club but a lot of the action is so nonchalant.
Sunny is sure alive and well. I tried repeatedly to get in tonight and there was always someone there. I thought I had it made at one point, I was heading south on Paris and there was a car in the parking lot. I made the wide circle past the porn shop on Old 63 and headed back North on Paris. As I was passing her place, I saw a guy getting in the car that was in the parking lot. Must have been someone already there or else, she was tired out. Drove off, came back again about an hour later (this was 3rd or 4th time) and just as I was getting to her place, a Caddy made a left turn into her drive. Damn! I turned around again and headed North, made the big circle around Heriford to Vandiver and decided to make a pass by to see if Mr. Caddyshack got in. Car was gone! Hooked a left into the Dino's shopping center and as I was coming around, who do I see parked in the D&H portion watching Foxy but Mr. Caddy. Called out on stikes, went home without again.
I had looked there a couple of times Sunday, also. In the afternoon Sunny's car was gone and the place looked vacant. In the evening the Open sign was on but both times I was by there, there were cars in the lot.
She must be booking some hair appointments in her preparation for her career as a stylist and to become Columbia's most experienced expert for full service of the head.

Two months ago I reviewed a new girl in Columbia named Taylor.

Two months ago I reviewed a new girl in Columbia named Taylor.

While I was cleaning up today my thoughts went back to the Tribune in the not too too distant past with the ads. Those ads for a certain kind of service served at .60 a pop. Those were the days. I wonder what ever happened to them? Scanning the paper today I only see 6 ads.

A little more about Barry, from a couple posts ago. I don't know Barry very well; I have just spoken to him a few times, mostly at his old massage parlor (Kneaded Relief) before he went on the lam, and flew the coop. This was back in the late 1990's. All it took was one person to ruin it for all of us. There was no need to report any wrong doings at Fuji. It was a private and concentual business transaction between 2 adults. If he didn't like the terms he could have walked away and gone elsewhere.

Children’s proximity to porn riles neighbor

An early childhood development program is taking flak for leasing space for an activity center next to a pornography shop.
First Chance For Children’s Lend and Learn center is slated to re-open Aug. 21 in a rented building across the street from Bocomo Bay, an adult video store on Wilkes Boulevard, between Fay and Pannell streets.
Lend and Learn, previously located in the Parkade Center, is a library that lends toys and books to low-income families. The facility, open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., also has a large playroom, infant and toddler area and an on-site parent educator.
"We wanted to be closer to the folks we serve," said Cande Iveson, interim executive director. "Obviously we knew" Bocomo Bay "was there. We obviously don’t think it’s ideal, but our options were pretty limited."
First Chance has been moving into the building for the past month. Iveson said the neighboring adult business has posed no problems. "Our hope is our program will be operating at a different time," she said.
At least one nearby resident fears the center will put needy children at risk.
Lana Jacobs, who lives in and runs the St. Francis House homeless shelter catty-corner from the business, pointed out that Missouri law forbids sex offenders from living within 1,000 feet of child centers. So it doesn’t make sense to put a child care center next to a pornography store, she said.
"I don’t know any scientific studies, but I think most people with common sense realize that there is a link between pornography and child sex abuse," Jacobs said. "You don’t put children next to a shop that their business is pornography. I’m not saying that everybody who goes in there is a pedophile. I’m not saying that at all. But we know that people who are pedophiles engage in pornography. So if the potential is high, then you don’t put children in harm’s way."
And customers go into Bocomo Bay at all times, not just at night, she said.
"I’m looking out my window at my desk, and there’s people going into that shop right now," Jacobs said. "I see cars parked there, and people going in and out. And this is - what? - 10 o’clock in the morning? So tell me why it’s not a problem."
Bocomo Bay owners did not return a Tribune phone call this morning.
Iveson stressed that First Chance For Children will monitor the program to ensure that the business does not endanger children.
"We’re not going to put families at risk. That would defeat our purpose," she said. "We help families at risk. If it becomes an issue, we’ll have to consider our options."
The Wilkes Boulevard location has some advantages, such as being located near Boys and Girls Club and a neighborhood park, Iveson added. "The positives of the location outweighed the negatives," she said.
Eleanor Farnen, past president of the First Chance for Children board, said other not-for-profit organizations are located nearby and are working to improve the neighborhood.
"The only way you can change a neighborhood is if you actually live in the neighborhood," she said. "It’s impossible to make changes if you’re not there. If we all just run away from a neighborhood that needs positive change, it won’t change."

Saw the girl in the Trib who's # ends in 8172. She is about 4'11", maybe 120, but is older. Certainly older than the 26 she told me over the phone. Long blonde hair, and pretty good at what she does. Quoted rates were 80 for the half, a hundy for 45 minutes, and 120 for the hour. Full service is available at all price ranges.

The news report said a not-so-smart fella held a knife to the neck of a female employee and demanded money.
Police are looking for the robber.

I saw a possible WSW near Westlake's, at the corner of the Bus. loop and old 63 south, around 8:30pm Fri. night. She didn't look like she was walking to get somewhere. So JC, did you drive all the way to Jeff to get stood up (or does the JC, mean you live there?) Or, were they supposed to meet you in Columbia? I think we all agree, Kendra looks pretty good and Ariel's not too bad either in the pictures that have been shown on CL in both Columbia and St. Louis. Although, a St. Louis poster seemed to be pretty taken with Kendra and her actions.
Better to have them flake out on you before you compensated them, I had one last fall (or maybe it was this spring--where did my memory go?) that got a phone call about 5 minutes into the session that led to her spending 10 to 15 minutes in the parking lot and then claiming she had been robbed and that she had called the police. This girl is still advertising fairly often in the Tribune. In two previous sessions she had been pretty darn good but I'll never call her number again, which by the way ends in 5643.

By the way, I saw 2 deer the other day in Rock Hill Park, near the Wilson Street entrance, long before you reach the creek bed. Never, ever seen deer while hiking in that park before. Also saw a deer a couple months ago in the Car Barn parking lot off Rangeline, while I was cruizin' for ladies. And a coyote much further up Rangeline as it was walking by that small, narrow tunnel that travels under and across Rangeline. Guess it coulda been a fox, but I think coyote.

I haven't been there but from what I saw on KOMU when it opened up they are going to watch it very closely and at the first sign of any trouble they are going to shut it down.
Being close to Columbia and the Lake as well I can't imagine them being able to get many quality ladies to work there as well.
This may be nothing but then again, the last time I saw cop cars in a parking lot, it was the end of Lynn's Reincornated #2.
I finished a little run or jog for posterity's purpose and figured I'd manage to drive up Old 63 on the way back as I've managed to do a few evenings to see if the reported spinner ever reappears across from the Adult Book Store.
There in the parking lot of the book store were two of Columbia's LE pulled next to each other in their B&W's and having a conversation. Sorry to hear about that. Things change and not always for the better. Look at the pits, it was fun but that fun ended last year. I guess it was a good ride while it lasted and it might only be awhile til the Trib and Craigslist activities are gone after as well. I have moved on myself and only play over on the eastside of the river. Things are a bit looser. They tend to sweep the streets clean but allow certain things behind doors. I guess they got tired of the behind the doors activities in Columbia.

Actually, I ran into this operation in June at the TA Travelcenter in Concordia, and posted about it in the "Other Areas" forum. No one ever responded, and I never got to check it out. By the time I was through there again it was gone. At that location it was in a semi-private area just off the Subway/Pizza Hut counter, separated with a curtain, so I would be surprised if much went on there. It sounds like maybe it had moved to the motel at Midway.

Ins, As far as I know she has only been here once during 2007, sometime around the beginning of the summer, possibly early June. I had a weekend alone at home so I decided to make the best of it. Thursday and Friday I saw Amber and Candy (now Deanna). Both I have reported on earlier. On Saturday I decided to meet a new friend. I called every number that I found in several days papers and not one answered the phone. This was about mid afternoon so I waited untill early evening and got the same results. About this time I was sure missing Lynn's.
At about 8:00 I got a call back from the 0729 number that Roscoe reported on Friday. Now her name is Mandy instead of Becky but it is the same girl. ( sometimes you need a scorecard to follow the game). She said she could be ready in about half an hour and would call me back with the location. I got ready and about 20 minutes later I got a call back from another lady and had to tell her I was very sorry that I had plans with someone else and would call another time. Well as you can probably guess this turned out to be a big mistake . ( see my next report) An hour later my phone still had not rung. I tried calling her but it always went straight to voice mail,
I cruised the streets for another hour and headed home.
As I was passing by Peppers I decided to go in and talk to Karen and see If anything was new. When I pulled in there were only about 12 cars in the
parking lot. They wanted $5.00 cover charge at the door and I didn't see Karen. I am sorry but I didn't see the necessity of paying five dollars for the privelage of purchaseing a drink at an empty bar. So I left and the bouncer wished me well.
I was sitting at home with my friend Jack Danniels when the phone rang at about 1:30 and it was Mandy. ( Becky for the slow ones, please keep up). She said she saw I had called earlier and was there anything she could do for me. I told her she could have done a lot for me if she had called me several hours earlier as she was supposed to. She said she had trouble with her phone and then forgot what number she was supposed to call back, said she was very sorry and would make it up to me. I asked her if she would be available on Sunday and she said yes.
I called back today and she offered me a full hour with her and her friend Danielle (Kaylee??) for $.5. Now I am usually not that much on doubles,but the price was right so I agreed.
When I arrived I saw that Danielle was my old friend Madison. I should have turned around and left but you guys all know how the little head works so I didn't. Mandy wasn't to bad but I think Roscoe was very kind in his review.

LOL (sorry).
Madison finally got the job done with time to spare. Because of the reasonable price and being able to last longer than usual it was a good deal but I would not do it again. IMHO these two are just streetwalkers who know how to place newspaper adds

I did not have a chance to see her there but from the little I have heard about her I think I really screwed up . She did not have an add in the paper, someone else referred her to me. Well, I'm nearly certain today I saw Lauren. At 1:40 PM, I was driving southward on Garth Avenue, a couple blocks south of Biz Loop, when I saw her walking southward.
I didn't stop because I was driving *right behind* a police car. The officer and I turned onto Garth in one-two order.
After the officer finally turned onto a side street, I didn't have enough time to drive back. However, I'm nearly certain it was Lauren. The only very slight doubt I have relates to seeing her face in the rear-view mirror as she was lighting a cigarrette--her hand partially obscured her face, but I'm 95 percent sure it was her.

I too sent her an E-mail. She might be legit (she might want to know about roommates for safety reasons or simply for privacy reasons). I 2nd your opinion. Not a smart move on their part to close up these business that were working for the most part under the radar. I stopped going to Columbia early this year and started to frequent house parties till they started to charge too much for single guys. My time now is spent east of the Mississippi in Illinois.

No, it's not like the good ol' days when Fuji and Lynn's were wide open, but still, a little discretion goes a long ways.
I took a spin up Rangeline a few days ago and if you could see all the new housing and shopping centers going in, you could understand why some things are no longer acceptable to the authorities.
To be realistic, I think the money we mongers spent in Columbia is chicken feed to what developers are spending. The tax base is expanding, and besides, it's not as if the ladies we patronized reported all of their earnings for tax purposes.
Times change, and I agree with LT: The east side of the Mississippi holds more promise now.
But I find myself longing for the fun times in Columbia. What a town it was there for a while!
And I cannot help but think that all the bragging and telling that went on on this very board helped to bring it all down.
As Vicky told me more than once, Fuji had been open 25 years, just chugging along, providing a fantastic service -- until she "retired" and others came in and blew it.

Got into Columbia late evening, only spending one night in town. Did my first trip report here, not been back sicne last year so here is my second! Got my hotel and called all the numbers in the Tribune that I found in the lobby.
It was two days old.
No luck a bunch of voice mails & voice mail fulls. First girl who answered told me to call back the next day after 4PM. Told her I would be long gone by then. This was the redhead who never seems to want to see me. I have tried calling her everytime I have been in town for the past couple of years. Only street names I recalled were Garth and Ash. crusied both of them their entire length a few times. Figured the point where they cross would be the most likely area. Along with Garth just south of Business 70. It looked to be the "right" kind of neighborhood. Saw nothing in almost 2 hours of cruising. Was I in the right area?
Called it a night. Tried the no answer Tribiune ads from the hotel again and still no luck.

Robber empties man’s wallet, takes minivan

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday night in central Columbia.
Officers were dispatched about 9:45 p.m. to the 500 block of West Ash Street, where a 35-year-old man reported being robbed at gunpoint by two suspects after giving a woman a ride down the street, police said.
The victim told police he was driving in the 1500 block of West Ash when he stopped to give a ride to a woman. The victim then let the woman use his cell phone, and she asked him to take her to the 500 block of West Ash, police said.
The victim stopped there and was approached by a man with a rifle, police said. The armed man took the contents of the victim’s wallet and his van, a green 1998 Ford Windstar with license plate number 2CA-41A.
The male suspect is described as a bearded black man between 25 and 35 years old, last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue-jean shorts. The woman is described as white, between 20 and 30 years old, thin and with blond hair. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and white shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.

The only possible out for the insurance company is the exclusion for criminal activity. But then the insurance company would have to prove he was engaging in illegal activity. Unless the police charge him, the insurance company would have little to go on.
Most comprehensive claims do not result in a rate increase, or a claims surcharge.
Since the victim reported the crime to the police he must be single, or already dealing with his family knowing where he was. That pretty much eliminates the only leverage the insurance company could have. All they could do is make it clear that they would have to speak to his wife (if she was a named insured).
This would put many of us in a bad spot. A police report means questions from spouse, family, and others about what we were doing. Leaving out details could mean legal trouble with filing a false police report. Doing nothing means explaining where our vehicle went. Very sobering.

I just searched the Tribune archives for Lynn's last name and saw that her son was arrested for domestic assault this week at a Rangeline address. Your contact was probably confused.
