Finished up work late. Did a couple of loops in Pawt and while I saw a couple nothing interested me. Swung bt atwells, valley and etc not much. Finally hit Westminster by Messier and found six of them. At 2am? Go figure.

Last night around 9 Elmwood strolls were quiet--didn't even see LE. There is no usual way to accomplish this outside stopping, making contact, engaging in conversation and making a decision to pass or not. All of which is tough to do while driving 25-30 mph.
Regarding my hobbing practices, have not been driving much since gas hit 3. 25. Its better on CL as the prices have dropped to 80-100 AND you get to see it before doing it and some even come to my place. Not to pick nits, but the average wage in 1968 was about $2.75 per hour. Now it's about $19 per hour. On that basis, their wages are about keeping up with ours.
The IRS did a study of the underground economy in 1984 that estimates that streetwalkers made $10 per transaction in 1966 and $20 in 1979. By those standards either RI was an outstanding buyer's market, or Gansett's uncle was remembering the Good Ol' Days as slightly better than they actually were.

I happened to be in Providence yesterday mid-morning. Elmwood had no action, so I tried Olneyville. I have been saying this for a long time now, ever since it hit $3. 00 a gallon (well, perhaps it has not been too long when I think about it).
CL has or is becoming the street with a cheap camera. Also, when you factor in that although they ask for 80. 100 for a quickie or half hour, when you call and offer less, they usually take it, the deal becomes better and better.
Street shit is a lot of fun for those who do have the "need to hunt", but it becoming really expensive factoring in that many of us only have limited time and so much to blow on a combination of gas / mongering. If you cannot get someone's digits for the future, its even worse to go through it again and again.
All in all, the street appears to be in rapid and sharp decline, not due to LE's doing their best to rid the street of these ladies and their customers, but do to economic conditions which the street cannot overcome.
In order to make it worthwhile, you really have to score right away and pay nothing, or next to nothing. While I used to pick up an ice coffee and stroll for a bit, I find myself simply trying to coordinate a stroll into another errand to try, on the off chance, to kill two birds with a single tank. More often than not, failing to see anything at that precise moment of that day.
When gas hits 4. 50, I think mongering will become an endangered sport, kinda like taking the power boat out to Block Island for the evening. Now, my friends with power boats simply eat on board, at the dock due to expense.

Ventured down rt 10 to hit Cranston Street. The thugs, rats and small children were all out. NOTHING looking to get in. Spun around and headed back to Cranston for the night.
I note no activity on the RI board last day or two. I'll tell you, between the gas, inflationary costs (made some sausage and peppers: sausage $9.00, peppers and veggies, $14.50 more) of everything and the stock market, seems like a conspiracy out there to get you. I have always voted republican, but this is one republican who will not miss GB when he is gone.
On Elmwood this afternoon around 3, in front of the funeral parlor at the corner of sprague. Some recent strolls. I wasn't seriously looking the last two days but still went so i will know for later. Yesterday morning about 10ish hit the usual and LEO was heavy. Gansett, you made some good points to myself. At the time of my original post i was still a bit pissed and was a bit frustrated. I hadn't thought about the possibility of it being someone like Tara as Yadi isn't really a serious sw yet. She seemed very up front and honest about how she did find out. I don't know maybe she was acting. If so she did a very good job.

Tried to resize/cutdown a couple of pics. After numerous croppings hopefully they work. This just makes me appreciate all the work of the guys who do great jobs on the pics.

Phat, I actually have quite a few other pics and even two (2) video's of Leah as well. I'm sure le does read this forum. I've tried to log in at a public library, they have kiddie software that prevents viewing of sites like this. If a sw'er does read this forum, I've found several that do, she has access to a private computer just as you said.

Has anyone else noticed the cameras that have popped up all over the usual places? I haven't seen a report here, but the fact that they are in place may help explain why there hasn't been any activity in the usual spots lately even when LE is not around.
I think I saw a report on the TV news when the first camera appeared. They claim that the image from the camera is only transmitted to a nearby patrol car but they also reported that only a few of these things would be put in place. THEY ARE ALL OVER.
Take a look on Elmwood opposite City Gas at the streetlight with the small, black box and antenna sticking out of the top. Then try to count how many more you see along Elmwood, Manton, Atwells, Chalkstone, etc. If these are indeed cameras it would be no problem for LE to monitor what the camera is pointed at for activity and then swoop in from a block or two away to put a stop to it.

I saw a old, and I do mean old, friend back on elmwood this afternoon. Patty, a short wsw with big blonde hair. She was a regular, actually a fixture on elmwood for many years, rain or shine. I happen to be in providence for work today. Any way I'm in the field all day when its lunch time. So I go to the stop and shop on manton for a salad. Hiding in plain sight has always been my theory. The only car in a secluded place will draw unwanted attention IMHO. But you can't park right next to the door with people walking by. There's also a old dude in a white car marked security that cruises that lot which makes it not an ideal place.
Don't laugh but I once had the ultimate monger mobile, a mini van with dark tinted windows. You couldn't see inside until you were right beside it but I could see whoever was approaching. The Walgreens, Hess, and AZ parking lots all were perfect. So was the lot of the grocery store across from DD on Manton.

With my different hours of work I am learning new things. I have been doing rather well in Pawt. especially on Friday nights about 2300 or so and surprisingly enough on Sunday mornings about 0830ish. The last couple of nights have been slow. Maybe due to the chill??

Pawt was dead with just one old HSW on barton. I've brought some to my place AFTER I was with them in the car once or twice before and I got to trust them. I usually hide the valuables and cash when I go hunting just in case I bring one back. 1) Don't have snitchable stuff lying around or easily accessible. Watches, cash, jewelry, iPods, all should be locked up. When I was doing this regularly my apartment was always "ho-visit ready". Nothing accessible that's small, easy to conceal and would get resale value on the street.
