Last night around 1 AM, I went around the GNL loop a couple of times, anyway I stopped off of Greenfield & 25th to check out a possible BSW, her pimp seeing that I was at an odd intersection and could not pull out quickly, seized the opportunity to make a quick sprint over to my car and then at gunpoint demanded my money!

Late this afternoon I was on the hunt. After driving Lincoln ( I stay off of Greenfield) for aboput a half hour I spotted a blonde walking eadt from 18th. Not sure how you are equating a sting operation in Seattle focusing on CL listings to being more careful on the chat lines in Milwaukee....

In my book similar common sense rules apply to chat lines as they do to picking up a SW. For example one girl I met off of the chat lines just seemed too good to be true so I offered to take her out to dinner and discuss plans, not quite as direct as a boob check but just as effective as no cop would go through those hoops for one small bust. I completely agree with the remarks from 225mmk regarding Quest. Absolutely. I will move on, but would like to add this as a general statement regards to many posts referring to LE. There has to be some insight into LE in general. MANY LE are from a military background, because hiring practices give preference to them. We all know what occurs with military personnel when stationed away from home and have a night on the local town/country. Eventually they are discharged, back home, and now working for LE. They will tend to have a fairly bias view on hobbyists, for the most part. Now this isn't inclusive to all LE, of course. LE has specific precincts and squads have specified zones. They are ALL KNOWING of what goes on around the ns loop and ss loops. That is their zone, they are there every day. Just because you may see a squad pull up behind you as the skeezer jumps in isn't a guaranteed ride to the pokey. LE discretion, as they think back to their military days. They know, believe that, they do. PeeWee mentioned hobbyists are targets because of cash.. yes completely, and also because of the reduced chance a hobbyist will call LE after getting jacked. I've been hobbying for SWs in Milwaukee and Madison since approximately 1988. Since the late '80s the one thing I've noticed more than anything is the increase in cops on the streets. Back in the late 80s and early 90s the cops were a pain in the azz but there simply were not as many out and about as there are now; it seems that today they're everywhere and it has really caused the quality of the SWs to go down hill.

Seemingly more and more only the homely crackheads are willing to risk the SW trade. (Of course, you can always find the occasional proverbial diamond in the rough, but you usually gotta search for hours.) I remember in the late 80s you'd stumble across some quality stuff all the time that wasn't emaciated and dirty. I don't mean to romanticize that period of time, but the SW hobbyist could honestly stumble across a lot better stuff than what's generally out today.

Any old-timers have any stories on hobbying for SWs in the 70s? Where was the stroll in the 70s? Was it Wisconsin Ave? I remember Wisconsin Ave was the stroll ever since I've been hobbying but sorta died down in recent years. Do any old-timers know if the GNL strolls were operational in the 70s?

Was up guys I did a few routes last weekend and there is nothing out there this city is sad for mongers like us we deserve better!! I get so jealous of other citys reports and pics. Back in the mid 70s streetwalkers were abundant in a few different locations in the Milwaukee area. North 3rd Street (now MLK Drive)from Center Street to North Ave was probably the busiest along with North Avenue from 27th Street to 33rd. Also downtown Milwaukee usually between Plankinton Ave and 6th Street was also a great spot to look too. There use to be a strip club on 5th and Wisconsin called the Voom Voom Room. On 5th and Wells a 24 hour restaurant was a great spot to pick up a girl after bar time. Also on 5th and Michigan another titty bar and adult bookstore were next door to one another. Always alot of activity around those also. On the North Avenue stroll there were two bars on North between 28th and 29th called Cals and the other was named Club Detroit. Stop in for a drink and take your pick. Very open and the women were mostly all made up and wearing short skirts and heels. Wow! There also were streewalkers on 27th street from North Ave to Lisbon Ave. A bar on 27th and Lloyd was also a popular pick up place. Farther south on 27th from approx State Street to Michigan Ave you could find girls also. On 28th and Wisconsin the Leprecaun Lounge was a working girl hangout and still is today. Back to 3rd Street there was a 24 hour George Webb and if you stopped in front girls would run out to your car. Wes's on 3rd (still there)a place on 3rd and Vine by the name of Little Johns that was a dancing place and Curlys which was located a block south never had a shortage of girls loitering around looking to make some money. Great report on days of gone by, guess I wasn't that well informed as I thought I was back then as I was only a occasional hobbyist sometimes hanging out at the bars or strip clubs.

In recent years of high crime you may sometimes wonder if it's that safe to play the hobby game in those intercity bars and nite spots.

On the other hand, playing the hobby on the web or phone chat lines seems physically safe but many scams and role players that really don't work out to the real thing.

Thanks Ojwin for getting on the topic of what it was like on the streets of Milwaukee years ago. I cruised Milwaukee from about 1974 to 1985 and it was fun to start recalling what it was like back then. As far as the places to cruise ScooterAllCity seemed to hit it right on the head. I never remember anything happening on the south side. 5th street just S. of Wisconsin was a good place, but that was always where MPD would have there stings. You would never see any LSW'S mostly BSW's with an occasional WSW. Wisconsin Ave from 24th to 28 th and 27th and Wells was also a couple good spots. North Ave between 27 th & 35 th was also pretty good. I wonder if anyone remembers there used to be a house on 27 th st. about a block or so South of North Ave. on the West side of the street. Girls would always be out on the porch and would wave at cars. I am almost sure these girls were working, but I was pretty young and I was not brave enough to find out. this went on for a couple of years in the late 70's. I will add more shortly.

Sorry I was interrupted in the middle of writing my post.Getting back to the good old days I also remember some activity in front of the Wisconsin Hotel.That was I belive on 3 rd st. right off Wisconsin Ave. That was the hotel all the sailors would stay at and I guess the girls would stand out front and wait for them. But the one place you could always find a cluster of girls was on 3rd st just N. of North Ave.There was a phone booth right next to where the girls would stand, and of course we had the phone number. One night we called them up and pretended to be a foreign ship captain. We told them our ship had just docked at the Port of Milwaukee and had a boat load of horney sailors. We asked them if they accepted rupples, of course they said no so we told them we would check the safe to see if we had any american money.We told them we only had about 9 thousand dollars. They were like tell us how to get there were coming.We didn't belive they would come but we went down to the dock and just hung around. About 45 minutes later 2 taxi's pulled up .And about 10 BSW'S piled out. We never laughed so hard watching them stumble around in there hi heels trying to figure out how to get on the boat and causing quite a comotion.

That house that Hugo is referring to is I believe two houses north of Brown Street on the west side of the street. They lived in the upper flat and were actually crossdressers. Yes those were guys. I remember a tall white "girl" with blond girl and a few black CDS. There also was a tavern on 27th and Lloyd St on the north east corner that was very popular to pick up a lady. The bar was called Browns I think. Also years ago I'm guessing the late 70's to early 80's Lisbon from 27th to 35th became the new track for the girls. Two new bars opened then. One was Wes's Chit Chat on the corner of 27th and Lisbon and Geralds on 32nd and Lisbon. Geralds had dancers also. The reason that all this activity came to this area was because of the building up and cleaning up of the 3rd Street area to become Brewers Hill. They closed most of the problem bars in that area so the people went elsewhere. More to come.

Also club owners in downtown Milw sent buses to the Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois to pickup the sailors on weekends. The USO was on 3rd Street between Wells St and Wisconsin Ave right across the alley from the Wisconsin Hotel. A great hang out for the ladies. Also the Princess Theatre was on the same block with its xxx films. There was on bar on Plankinton Ave where Mo's is now that was quite a popular hangout for the ladies. Had a couple of what you might call unsolicited experiences in the early 80's. One was walking at night toward my buddy's apartment near Marquette U and a black gal asking me if I had any money. I was one of them! I remember it was the spring of '88 and I was a rookie mongerer. She was posing on 27th Street about three blocks south of North Avenue. Me and my buddy pull up (I was driving, he was in the passenger seat), we got way too "talkative" with her be/see she looked so damn good in her skirt, etc. , incredibly sexy. I was the same age as one guy and he had a sister a couple years older. My sister was her friend and we all used to play as kids. As we got towards adolescence our games became more "intesting". What can I say:) I think there's nothing wrong with a little Tuna down at the harbor but when they smell so bad it seems they need there diapers changed or been working out in the hot sun all day giving service it's time to dump them.

I might have seen this Bobbie also sometime back strolling along N. 27th St. but LE was in the neighborhood so I drove on. The Bobbie I encountered was always around Hampton & Hopkins short to medium legs with a bubble butt nice short hair do or wig also clean.

Bean Snappers and Stars are okay, but unless you're staying around for a while to get to know the dancers, it's a waste of money. Paradise has turned into a rip off. I have, but with all the action from LE in Milwaukee, Racine & NE Illinois, several of us have been forced to take a break. One can hope things will cool off in the next couple of months. With all the press CL has been receiving, LE has little choice to turn the screws (there's a pun in there somewhere) until the next hot item draws their attention somewhere else.

There are some quality providers in CL, but the majority of them are in NE Illinois. And most of the quality regulars are keeping silent for obvious reasons, so pickings are slim and all the new posters are suspect.

I learned a long time ago to keep three things in my hands at the same time while simultaneously receiving the BJ. The three items I keep in my hands at all times are my cell phone, wallet and keys. I know it's not fool proof but it's something.

I sure as heck didn't expect what I got last night. I an getting a little specious of one of my long time SW contacts who seems to be getting allot more greedy lately maybe a drug habit or pimp seems she has been moving around to different neighborhoods. guess it's time to scratch one from the address book.

I also want to say, I been cruising the north side for several years now I would avoid North ave. when ever possible for the known reasons to this board but I still like to cruise through just to have a look. The rest of the north side areas seem ok but don't carry more cash than you expect to spend cause they like to shake you down for more sometimes and most will ask for 40 to begin with but I have gotten some quickies for 20 but full service with follow up phone numbers dose usually run more.

Indeed, congrats on the yahoo score. I havnt tried yahoo in a few years. I did though meet with a few off of there, not sure what its like these days though. CL casual encounters.
