SunSpa is now the second massage business in Buffalo Grove to lose its license amid prostitution charges against employees.

Sun Spa's business license was officially revoked during a public hearing Thursday at village hall presided over by Village President Jeff Braiman.

Two female employees over the last year have been charged with prostitution while working there.

The ruling was made after an hour long recess for private negotiations between the village attorney, prosecutor, president and Sun Spa owner Do T Kim and his attorney.

The agreement gives Sun Spa 90 days to continue taking clients while beginning to close up operations.

That agreement will remain valid unless either of the employees charged step foot in the establishment or perform employment activities during that time period.

If either were to occur, the doors of the business would be shuttered immediately by the village, Braiman said.

An additional stipulation of the agreement is that once the 90 days are up on Aug. 30, Kim will never again be allowed to obtain a business license, have a financial or other interest or management responsibility at a business located in Buffalo Grove.

'We won't tolerate criminal activities—we take these issues very seriously and act accordingly as we did here, ' Braiman said.

The latest prostitution charges were waged May 3 against 55-year-old * * * of NY. The woman was arrested after a sting operation led by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

The case against * has not yet been resolved in the Rolling Meadows courts, Buffalo Grove police Chief Steve Balinski said.

'We are alerted to this type of criminal activity in a number of different ways; upset customers will report to us or concerned citizens will notice suspicious activity—we even find information online through various websites, ' Balinski said.

The original prostitution arrest occurred July 13, 2011 when, of Arlington Heights was charged.

She was convicted and received a one year discharge with a $365 fine, Balinski said.

* also was charged with prostitution in January of 2010 while working at GQ Spa, the first Buffalo Grove massage parlor whose license was revoked in September 2011, according to Balinski.

The business shut its doors in October of 2011.

Braiman said after the first offense, the village worked closely with the Sun Spa.

'Village administration contacted the business last year and worked with them to remedy the situation, ensuring the employee charged was no longer working for the business, ' Braiman said.

He added the business owner was given a fair chance, but after the second prostitution charge, it became evident action needed to be taken.

Sun Spa is now required to surrender its business license to the village no later than 5 pm Aug. 29.

Penalties for failing to give up the license, or for violating other noted stipulations would cost Kim $500 per day per violation.

'Community safety issues are priority number one and we hold people accountable for this type of behavior, ' Balinski said.

Police execute prostitution bust.

Three in custody in undercover operation.

Police busted a prostitution operation at a local motel on Thursday, taking three people into custody, according to court records.

Officers started investigating Wednesday after an anonymous tip.

An employee at the Value Inn, 7221 122nd Ave., told police that at 1 pm Tuesday two women and a man had come in asking what the per-night charge was. They rented two rooms, one for the week and the other for the night. The man handed $340 in cash to the women and went back out to their car.

Officers checked a website, www.backpage.com, and found advertisements that appeared to show the two women who made the reservations soliciting customers for sex.

On Thursday, detectives set up the sting operation.

An officer called to set up an appointment. The woman — later determined to be XXXXXXX, 33, of Joliet, Ill. — requested vodka, cigarettes and condoms. When the officer arrived, XXXXXX confirmed she was alone and was arrested.

Officers next went to the second room, where they arrested XXXXXX, 18, of Chicago, and XXXXXXX, 31, of Waukegan, Ill.

XXXXXXX told officers she came to Kenosha to make money through prostitution with her boyfriend, XXXXXXX.

XXXXXXX said she had made $500 to $700, all given to XXXXXX, by having sex with five to seven men at the Kenosha motel.

XXXXXXX said working out of a hotel was "easier than walking on the street.".

XXXXXXX was charged Friday with one count of pimping / pandering.

He could be sentenced to seven and a half years in prison if convicted of the felony charge. Charges have not yet been filed against either of the women.

XXXXXXX and XXXXXX are in custody; XXXXXXX's bond was set Friday at $500 cash.

Never use the Value Inn they will turn you inn (ha), you are better off if you use a cheap hotel or motel where parking and rooms aren't so visible from the office. Also don't give or take cash in view of any hotel / motel employee, what they don't see they can't be a witnesses for.

Remember that LEO are encouraged to lie to get what they want out of you, it doesn't matter if it's the truth or not if you say something that they can use against you they will. LEO and the courts rely on "Guilty until proven innocent, and then guilty anyway" to get people to say things to incriminate themselves. Innocent is never on the court documents, only guilty and not guilty.

Additionally if you end up in court with charges, even if you get the charges dismissed they still stay on the court website (Wisconsin) for a number of years. The details of the case remain up on the site until it reaches the time frame indicated by the court for it to be removed, even if it has been dismissed the court details will remain visible to anyone who wants to check it, including potential employers.

I usually make an attempt to read all of these articles, just to keep appraised of what LEO is up to. A few things that bother me about this article.

There are many out there who have turned to prostitution as a means to generate income, since the government screwed up the employment scene so much. Although the article alludes to the fact that some are independent, it implies that most are drug addicts or being forced against their will to partake. From the ones that I've seen regularly this is not the case. An intentional mischaracterization to make all of the girls seem like victims and the mongers as the deviant ones.

"I think it's important to go after the johns," he said, explaining that it's a way to reduce the demand for prostitution. "It's one of the great evils.

Right, I'm paying women for sex more than they would make flipping burgers. While cops set up stings while allowing a multitude of other crimes go unchecked, and we praise them for this.
