Are all the seedy little small clubs with the girls dragging guys into them still around the FQ?
If so, anyone been to them lately?
Can you still get FS there while being hustled?
What about the Boar's Head for picking up working girls?

There are essentially three "types" of French Quarter clubs in NOLa.
1. There's the "high roller" or "class" joint, mostly not very classy, but it's mainstream. These include all the Larry Flynt clubs: Penthouse, LF's Hustler, LF's Barely Legal, LF's Deja Vu, LF's Li'l Darlin's. Also Scores, Lipstixx, Temptations, Bewitched, Ricks, etc.
2. There's the "low roller" or "locals" joint ON BOURBON. These are pits, very high on the hustle-factor, but some positive experiences might be had. Includes: UniSex, Big Daddy's, maybe Stiletto's and Temptations and Bewitched (or maybe they go in the above category).
3. There's the "seedy" joints off Bourbon near the intersection of Iberville and Chartres: Dixie Divas, Artist Cafe, La Mieux / Frolics, Ritz, Don Juan's. These places sometimes (or often) offer 100% full service in upstairs rooms. But I have never felt safe enough, or excited enough, to take a dancer up on that offer, since the bouncers are generally very dangerous looking and the dancers are not generally very hot looking. Some of the non-strip-club bars nearby -- Boar's Head, Jimani -- seem to be good bets for escorts hanging out. The Marriott lobby used to be a good bet too. Can't personally confirm since the storm.
4. Also, there are the non-French-Quarter clubs: Visions, Passions, She She's are the only three left. I used to love the Roxbury but it flooded :(. Those are all out East, along or near to Chef Menteur. Passions is a full-service place, I can confirm.
Best places for guaranteed service are, IMO, Asian Spa on Canal at Dorgenois; and Tokyo Modeling on Chef Menteur Highway east of I-10. Excellent attitudes and girls, nice showers and massages, but they're AMP style places rather than strip clubs or bars, no alcohol or music or smoky dingy crowded rooms or all that fun stuff.

Alright, now I know you're a nice guy, but I take serious issue with this. Village de L'est had one of the highest and fastest return rates after the storm, and it's commerical districts have almost entirely returned. The businesses in the shopping plaza you're taking about have *all* returned: a reception hall, a furniture store, a market, a non-profit, and one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the city (Ba Mien). In the plaza across the street it's almost the same thing - a couple of empty spots on the top floor, but the rest has returned. Down the way on Alcee Fortier its the same - lots and lots of commercial activity. The Village is *the* place in the city for all things Vietnamese - even a couple of spots to get non-AMP girls for the night, at a reasonable price. And some of them even look good.
So give respect to the Viet community!!
You're right about Lily Pad though. Ugly girls, although occasionally they have a spinner. And incidentally, the rooms in the back are nice.
And FYI, Hong Kong is the worst in the city, except perhaps the Green Door, which is no better than doing a fat streetwalker in a Tijuana locker-room.

On my way out West, I had a bit of extra time, so I thought I'd visit the French Quarter (FQ). Never been there and I had to get it out of my system.
Got to the FQ at 10:30 on a Sunday night. It was larger and even more depraved than I had expected. An interesting oasis of drunken debauchery in this nation of moral righteousness. I stopped in one stripclub -- not sure of the name, maybe Temptations -- and a girl offered me a lapdance. She said there were 3 levels of privacy for $40, $60, and $100. I asked how long the dance lasted and she said one song (!!). When she saw my jaw drop in astonishment she quickly suggested $30/song with medium privacy. Well, in my experience girls who try to hustle like that aren't worth it even if you talk them down, so I politely let her go. I wonder if she ever sells a $100 lapdance ? Must be a lot of dumbass tourists.
I went into a couple other bars -- live music and such. I noticed the man:woman ratio was about 2:1 and most of the women were coupled to men. I remember a friend of mine who went to NO for Spring break (a long time ago) saying people would "check their morals at the airport". If only I were in the flower of my youth, or maybe if it wasn't Sunday ...
I drove around the city and noticed that much of it was abandoned or very dilapidated. I've read in National Geographic, I think, that in about 60 years NO will be under water because of global warming. Not sure if we can save it, despite all the rhetoric of politicans.

Interesting how you characterized my city. Pretty accurate, I guess. Bourbon Street is like a little mini-Vegas, except that (as you mention) fewer women are unattached than on the "Strip." You're accurate about the strip club options, too -- mostly we are pretty poor here on back-room options, except at one of the Af-Am places out in the locals-only neighborhood.
If I remember correctly, you're mildly inaccurate about the National Geographic thing, though. I (we all) recall that article. I think they said in that infamous article that the city would be SURROUNDED by water because of the loss of barrier wetlands coupled with a rise in global sea levels. I don't really see whether we should be trying to "save" the city. It's not "sinking" -- not any more than, say, New York or Miami, anyway. The sea is rising. Same as Den Hag and Amsterdam, London, anywhere else that is protected by estuarial water and land barriers.
Anyway, keeping integrity to the levees here is as much an issue for geologic integrity of the ports and refinery services for the whole nation, as it is for the dumb-asses who won't evacuate or who insist on rebuilding their houses in an area that's too poorly protected to prevent flooding. Enmired as we here in the city all are, in the endless political squabbles about where to spend the money, the only thing that can be said with decisiveness is that the Federal Government (by means of FEMA, Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Levees oversight, etc.) has shirked its responsibilities in a way it didn't in, for example, the Savings and Loan crisis or after 9/11. I guess it doesn't pay to be poor and black and Southern.
Just a reminder: if you vote for less government, you might get the kind of "less" that allows a bridge in Minnesota to collapse because of poor maintenance and inspection.

Authorities have arrested two women they say used sex to lure a man from Bourbon Street to a Metairie apartment last week, where a trio of robbers then beat him and shot him as he escaped by diving off a second-floor balcony.
Antoinette Carradine, 19, of Metairie, and Dionne Cooper, 18, of New Orleans were booked Monday with one count of armed robbery, according to a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report.
None of their male accomplices has been identified or arrested, said Col. John Fortunato, spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.
The unidentified victim suffered a broken arm in his jump to safety during the early morning hours of Aug. 7 from the balcony of an apartment at 4644 Fairfield St. in Metairie, a Sheriff's Office incident report said. The man was treated at University Hospital in New Orleans for his fractured arm and wounds from shotgun pellets. His condition was not available Tuesday.
No details about the victim were available from the Sheriff's Office.
Both Carradine and Cooper were being held Tuesday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna in lieu of $100,000 bonds. A woman who answered the telephone at Cooper's home Tuesday declined to comment. No relative of Carradine's could be reached.
The women surrendered to authorities at the Sheriff's Office investigations bureau in Harvey on Monday afternoon. Carradine and Cooper admitted to investigators that they planned the robbery with the three men, the report said. They set out with the intention of finding someone with money to lure back to a location where they could spring their trap.
Carradine and Cooper selected their victim in the French Quarter. The victim told investigators he met them at Conti and Bourbon streets, the incident report said. The man hung out with the pair for a while before they asked that he follow them to their home. The man said they got into a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee and led him to an apartment investigators later determined to be the Fairfield Street double, according to the report.
Once there, the victim told investigators that the three had sex for about an hour before he fell asleep. He was awakened by three men dressed in black with bandannas covering their faces, the report said. The robbers demanded that the man give up his clothes, his wallet and his car keys. When he refused, they began to beat him with a shotgun, a metal rod used to secure vehicles from theft and an unidentified object, the report said.
The man managed to get the metal rod away from one of the suspects, but he couldn't defend himself against the blows, and decided to escape via the balcony, according to the report. As he slipped through the doors and jumped, the shotgun blast partially caught him in the right shoulder, the report said.
Several neighbors called 911 just before 6 a.m. to report a suspicious man knocking on doors and screaming for help, the report said. A deputy found a man in the 4600 block of Fairfield Street, nude and covered with blood. The man didn't realize he had been shot until doctors examined him at the hospital.
Investigators tracked down the crime scene by following the man's blood trail back to the balcony, according to the incident report. Inside the apartment, they found blood spatters and evidence of a shotgun blast in the balcony door frame.
Neither Carradine nor Cooper lived in the rented apartment, deputies said. It was not clear Tuesday if the tenants have been implicated in the robbery. But investigators may have developed Carradine as a suspect after they found a cellular phone linked to her at the apartment, the report said.

Chefdog: I saw that story, thought about trying to post it. Thanks for that. I was thinking with the big head last night when I visited (what is now almost becoming) the most reliable "stroll" we have downtown, the block from Chartres to Royal on Iberville (really, just Iberville from Exchange Alley to Chartres). I got some offers from girls working those sleazy clubs, and I saw some white-trash-homie dudes with their trailer-park-style girls trying to make eye-contact with drivers. I drove on to Tokyo modeling, and I'm sure I was more satisfied and less impoverished after the experience there, than I would have been if I had tried to enjoy an experience in the French Quarter. But there's just something thrilling and irresistible about the "hunt" when you go bag the game in the wild in her native habitat, instead of culling through a captive herd at a zoo. :p

Things are getting bad out in New Orleans East. I might stay away from Tokyo Modeling on Chef Menteur for a while, get my jollies at Asian on Canal. I don't think Visions would be impacted, but Passions might be. I dunno. Your thoughts?

Seems like the Wild West out there. Those links might not last, but the gist is, there are robbers who bust into houses and do gunpoint robbery. Seems they were essentially crimes of "opportunity," in that the people were targeted for "just being there," and the victims were followed into their homes in one manner or another after becoming targets. I wouldn't feel as safe in the Tokyo parking lot, for instance ...

Other news: I've been to Passions recently and not found any girls to my liking, to take into a private cubicle to do the deed. Twice I saw girls who were smokin' hot, definitely above the usual caliber of the general crowd of dancers, but I couldn't talk either into any offer other than a $20-for-one-song type of deal. A friend of mine's brother was killed last week in a similar incident out there. Shit is kind of hectic. On the other hand, I'm more worried about the police presence. I was pulled over on both Friday and Saturday nights at random checkpoints, and hassled for 15 minutes each. What if I was pulling out of Tokyo or something? What would they say to me then?
I feel like Asian Health has fallen off. I just had a great time at Lily Pad the other night. New talent.

If I remember right it is painted purple and the side door has a wooden slat cover. Sure has an amp look to me. LOL I am sitting here thinking now I look at a building for amp styling. Next time I pass and not working I will stop and check it out. Will report later.

You're totally right. I passed it in the daylight and knew exactly which one you're talking about. The blackened glass on the front door says it all. I would've suggested that it could be an adult bookstore if I hadn't have seen a couple of Asian guys unloading supplies into the building.
Looks like we may get some healthy competition in the marketplace.

By the way - There's a whole lot of cops in the East right now. I mean a *lot*. Damn place feels like a war zone between all the murders and the general lock-down. I was cruisin Chef and was tailed by cops on each of my 4 passes and called it off because I knew they'd eventually pull me over... I have a bad brake tag. No good, no good.

For the first time in my life I'm actually happy to hear of an increased police presence on one of the "strolls." I would of course, like most mongers, prefer to be able to pick up a solution to the perennial problem with ease, and generally more cops means less ease, so I would usually dislike more cops. But nowadays, I'm gonna have to say, it had gone so far down the violence drain that more cops actually means MORE ease, in the sense of safety and not-getting-my-head-blown-off-randomly sort of experiences. Once in a while the cops are welcome. The hispanic and vietnamese laborers who are getting hit "just because they can" by city toughs out "wilding" it up ... things had become too dangerous for me to feel comfortable out there in the East. Anyone been to Tokyo since the increased police presence? I hope they aren't getting hassled. Also, I'm looking forward to a report on the new place.

I was wondering if anyone had checked out the club fusion in westbank. It advertises in the Vietnamese paper. Shows a lot of girls, open noon to 4am 7 days a week. (hint, not a real club.) Sounds like the Karaoke bars in Hawiaii. You can drink, sing, and there is a back room area ....
Any ways I can't get there for a few weeks and just wanted to see what was up.
I am new to this world and would like to know what a table shower is exactly, and is it worth the time.

Aspen: table-shower is a delightful experience, as long as the lady isn't totally incompetent at it. She takes you to a small tiled room that has a vinyl massage table on which you lie down naked, she runs hot water through a hand-held shower-massager, she scrubs you down with some soap and some kind of sponge or buff-puff thing, then she towels you off. This provides the lady the assurance that you're not wired, because you travel from one room (the one with the bed) to another (the shower room) in nothing but a robe or towel, and also that you're clean and decent smelling. It provides for the guy the enjoyable experience of being pampered and taken care of, and is like a little mini massage before the massage, and allows you to play around a bit with the soapy water if she's amenable to that type of behavior. With a girl who REALLY doesn't want to provide the service that you're there to experience, you can pretty much determine that she's avoiding touching you when you get started with the table shower, so it's useful as an information-gathering exercise, too. I haven't ever had a "bad" or just "mediocre" table-shower ever, since it's really not so rare a skill to be able to run hot water and to be able to scrub your back. I have had some lame-ass massages, in which the girl just had no bleepin' idea what she was doing and was just annoying or at best mildly amusing because of her pointless ministrations, but this can't really happen in a table shower.
If it's offered, and it's included in the price, I can't imagine NOT taking the table shower, unless you have a place to go to afterwards where you don't want to smell like the soap that they use. But then that would be an issue for the smell of the massage oil too, wouldn't it? One minor concern might be, that you worry about leaving your clothes and wallet in the other room while you traipse about the establishment in nothing but their towel and flip-flops. I don't find that to be of concern at Tokyo (Chef Menteur) or Asian (Canal) because those places are guaranteed good-service places. It might be an issue if you were drunk and at some place with iffy service.

2. Oh wait, dinner. Palace Cafe is at Camp (Chartres) and Canal. Plenty of other great spots, but this one is casual enough that you can get some NOLa food without high stress. Dinner $30-ish.
3. Walk from there to Bourbon Street. Look around. Drop in to any of the more upscale strip clubs -- Scores will have no cover and hot-hot-hot women, but only a low number of them. Penthouse (Iberville just off Bourbon) will be similar. Deja Vu, Hustler, Hustler's Little Darlings, Hustler's Barely Legal, will all have some good-looking women. Other places are likely clip joints. Cover $5, drinks $7, lappers $40. Unlikely anything more.

Thank you brother. I will be in NO Tuesday and leave Wednesday. I will check some of this out. In Vegas, there are a number of horny party chicks, where it's fairly easy to get one to come to your room and bang her brains out for free.
Since NO has a party reputation...what are my odds?
BTW, in your reports you talk about Tokyo alot. I will have a car. Should I try them instead of Asian. Seems like pricing maybe better....

About civilian hook-ups. I've read (I think on this very thread?) that the comparison between NOLa and Vegas breaks down a bit at that point. The Bourbon Street strip is a little smaller than the promenade zone in Vegas, and generally has (as reported, though I can't confirm personally) fewer unattached females than in Vegas. Depending on when you're here, there are a LOT of college groups visiting for football games, for example, but they'll be six to a room and looking after one another and often paired into their little couples before they even get here. One minor concern might be, that you worry about leaving your clothes and wallet in the other room while you traipse about the establishment in nothing but their towel and flip-flops. I don't find that to be of concern at Tokyo (Chef Menteur) or Asian (Canal) because those places are guaranteed good-service places. It might be an issue if you were drunk and at some place with iffy service.

I guess that is best policy. I usually leave about $60 in my pants back in the main room while I've been transported to and from the table-shower room, and haven't yet had any problems, and I can't really think what a wise method of bringing the wallet with me to the table-shower would be. Thank you brother. Since I will be returning in two weeks, I figured I would scout. I didn't make it down to Asian, but I googled it, and it seems it's only a short way from my hotel. I did go see Tokyo, pulled into the lot to check things out. Seemed to be a full house. Went back down to Passions, well I think it was passions, didn't see a sign. But the google map lead me right to the little club off downman, right cross Chef. Was that it? I stood out in the parking lot, but the gut said...not this time. Seems like it was too many oversized "white tees" in the parking lot. Guy at the hotel, told me to check it out earlier in the day.

But take heart, there's a pat-down at the door, so the worst is in the parking lot and standing along the wall. Too bad about Tokyo and Asian -- they're almost guaranteed to offer good experiences. William Hare of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office vice squad said he set up a date with Melissa Williams, 31, of Slidell, known as "Amber" on the popular classified advertising web site, after receiving an anonymous complaint that she and Amanda Williams, 27, "were working the River Ridge area on Craigslist."
Hare met Melissa Williams on Monday at her sister's apartment at 112 Mark Twain Drive, River Ridge. He said she solicited him for sex in exchange for $200, so he booked her with prostitution. Because Amanda Williams was present and offered one of her bedrooms, she was booked with letting premises for prostitution, Hare said. Both remained in jail Tuesday afternoon.

Since 1995, Craigslist.org has provided an online forum for Internet users to post regionalized advertisements for jobs, apartments, merchandise and other services. The site divides the ads by country, state and city, letting users search for goods specifically in the New Orleans area.
But over the past few years, flesh peddlers have begun marketing themselves in the service listings. And law enforcement agencies across the country are starting to pay attention. In New Jersey, Illinois, Washington and Florida, police have conducted stings netting advertising prostitutes as well as customers seeking to purchase a little pleasure.
The Jefferson Sheriff's Office vice squad has made a handful of such arrests via Craigslist.org and other web sites, said the unit's commander, Capt. Tom Angelica. Investigators would make more, he said, but they've been busy helping the rest of the department tackle violent crime. That leaves little opportunity to address online prostitution, where Hare said the market is ripe.
"It's like shooting fish in a barrel," Hare said.
The "erotic services" section of Cragslist.org's New Orleans page featured 34 advertisements Tuesday. Many of the posters say they are not New Orleans-area residents but would seem to be traveling prostitutes -- both male and female -- looking to line up customers for upcoming visits to the region. Some posters say they are tourists requesting services during their vacation to the area.
But advertising prostitution isn't a new concept, Angelica said. Before the spread of the Internet, prostitutes posted ads in local publications. In fact, the Sheriff's Office vice squad arrested Melissa Williams in 2004 after deputies answered an ad she had placed in a New Orleans alternative newspaper, Hare said. Williams pleaded guilty to prostitution and was given a suspended six-month sentence, according to court records.
The Internet has revolutionized the sex trade, however, Angelica said. Instead of prostitutes selling themselves for minimum sums to score drugs or a place to stay, investigators are finding nurses, teachers and sometimes business people looking to make extra money discreetly, he said.
"Sex is out there for sale, and nobody worries about it," Hare said. "They think they can do whatever they want."

In anticipation of other things to come, I blew off some steam at Asian Health for lunch today. Hooked up with Irene, the little tiny girl there. So, I've been stalking this place like a wolf looking for squirrels. They told me on Sunday that it would be open on Monday, but it didn't. Apparently there were electrical problems. Basically, all the girls negotiate their time independently. I don't think you should spend as much as $40 for a single dance -- try to get about three or five for that rate, depending on the girl. You are likely to find a very wide range of prices depending on the appearance of the girl, from a high of roughly $200 initial asking price for FS (includes booth fee) down to $40 for the same. Dunno. Have seen some reports that they're open on weekend afternoons, but I've driven by at 6 on weekdays and seen no activity. Probably best to plan on only being available at prime-time, but definitely seven days a week.

Faust: I think one reason you're not getting answers to these questions is that they aren't really answerable. It sounds like you're kind of expecting Passions to be a standard strip-club with extras available, maybe like Treasures in Houston or like MBOT in San Francisco. Passions is much less organized than all of that, so perhaps other people were unable to really give you the answers you wanted because you're asking the wrong questions.
Passions is in what I think is the old Onyx building on Downman, about two doors lake-side of the big light at Chef Menteur. At any rate, get to Downman and Chef, go toward the Lake a little tiny bit past the empty gas station, it's on your right, you can't miss it. Men grilling in the parking lot, lots of oversized white T-shirts, plenty of parked cars. Visions is a little further along in the same direction, on the other side of the street.
Basically, all the girls negotiate their time independently. I don't think you should spend as much as $40 for a single dance -- try to get about three or five for that rate, depending on the girl. You are likely to find a very wide range of prices depending on the appearance of the girl, from a high of roughly $200 initial asking price for FS (includes booth fee) down to $40 for the same. I would say you should try to spend less than you would at, for instance, Tokyo Modeling spa down the street, where FS will run roughly $160, with less services tapering down by $20 apiece lower than that.
There would be no naming particular girls. The stable rotates rapidly.
About 99% are African-American, though a larger than usual percentage are very light-skinned "creamy butter" type (formerly referred to as "high yellow," is this now an inappropriate term?). There is the odd Af-Asian mix, and a few Af-Hispanic mix. I have never seen a Caucasian white girl dancing at Passions.
You seem to want a cut-and-dried menu for this place. I caution you, that it operates so low down the totem pole that the likelihood of any such predictability is very low. The prices may range as much as $50 or $100 per service on any given night; the cover may be $5, $10, $20; there may be three ugly girls or sixty hotties. To give you a general idea, the bar only recently installed a "gun" for soda and mixers. Before that, they were pouring from store-bought 2-liter containers, or from six-pack cans, if you ordered a Coke OR A BEER.

BGI think I'm one of the first people to tell you all about passions. It is not some place where you have to watch your back at all times. Don't get me wrong this is New Orleans so be careful where ever you go but Book Guy is making it sound like a crackhouse. First of all I know the owners and they will do what ever they have to to keep you safe, because they want you to keep coming back spending money. There is very little violence that goes on at this club mostly because guys don't come there for that. They come for the girls. They did have a shooting about 7 months ago where a guard got killed but he was love sick cause his girl was dancing and other things and he could not take it. Don't blame that on the club. The cover charge is $10 dollars before midnight and $20 after. They do this to run all the assholes away who are not there to have a good time. This last statement might catch some of you off guard but the same guy that owns visions is a 50% owner of passions. He use to own Onxy before the storm. The guy that use to run Onxy for him is now his partner at passions. I have been out of town for a minute but now I'm back. I had dinner in the Quarter and decided to take a cruise to see if things have improved on the SW scene. Up Tulane onto Airline, across Central and up and down Jefferson, nothing. I decided to take a ride down Chef Hwy. When I passed the newly opened Sakura I saw at least 20 cars, one of them a police car, in the lot. It didn't look good. I hope none of you got caught up in what could have been an LE trap.
There weren't any girls on the chef either so I just road on home.

Sounds like Bama504 knows what he's talking about. Sorry to have given the wrong impression -- I didn't want it to sound like Passions was a crack-house at all, just wanted to send out the general warning because some people might get the impression that it's simply a "normal" strip club.
When in doubt, defer to Bama's point of view. Mine in general might be a little overly cautious. As far as specifics, he and I seem to be on the same page mostly, so there's little disagreement there.

I was in NOLA this week and hit a few of the strip clubs. I popped into one of those nameless joints on Iberville, just to see the wares. Some hag with terrible teeth flashed me to try to entice me to stay, but she had something like warts all over her tits. I got out of there quickly.

I tend to go there between 7am and 12pm. It's near my work, and I enjoy a pick-me-up when stuff is stressful. I can't really remember anyone's names, but I think that there's no real difference between day and night. The same girls are always there, except when they switch out for new ones. Passions -- it opens early evening, stays open way late. If you get there at 8 or 10 you'll be fine.
Drove by last night, roughly 9:40 pm. Lots of cop cars with sirens running. The door staff at Visions (half-block down the street) was watching, said they'd been watching 'em since 9. Cops sitting out front being intimidating? Or an actual bust? Don't know any more specifics. I left Visions at 1:30 in the morning, noted OTHER cop cars with lights blinking in front of Passions. They are both in East New Orleans (less than a mile apart).
Visions is my favorite titty bar in town. Dances are $20 and include full contact except for in g-string. Extras, generally, not available. Cover is about $8 but includes a beer.
All of the quarter strip joints are over-priced, with many being rip-off. Definitely stay away from any strip bars in the French Quarter that are not on Bourbon. Tokyo Spa has received excellent reviews from many board members with f/s generally running $1. 60.

The Quarter is pretty safe, though I'd never really go there. If you stay on Bourbon you'll be totally fine, and pretty much every street parallel to the river is fine. You can check out strip clubs and college drunks on Bourbon, art shops on Royal, and then a melange of shops, restaurants, and old architecture on N. Peters. If you like to walk, stroll down Bourbon to Orleans or St. Ann, take a right and check out the incredible view of Mary as you walk toward the cathedral. Then jig down Pirate Alley and stop at the bar where you can drink some absinthe. They do it really nice there with the fire and everything. Take another left on Chartres and check out Jackson Square, then continue down river past the French Market and Cafe du Monde until after 10 blocks or so you'll hit Frenchman St. There you can check out live music, and hit on possibly easy girls. If you're into hip hop or club music, the hookah bar on the corner is pretty decent. If you're hungry, go have a burger up the block on Esplanade at Port o' Call. At this point you can just take a cab back to VIP or Asian on Canal and wrap up your night with some fun. If anything, I wouldn't venture on foot too far above Bourbon - as you get closer to Rampart it gets dodgier (although if you're into dudes, there's apparently a lot of gay sex to be had that way).

I was just writing about this: here's what I PM'ed to a member:
I presume you'll be staying at a hotel near / in the FQ. Go dine at Palace Cafe, Canal Street at Chartres. It's casual (wear your jeans and your company polo shirt), $20 to $30 a plate, no reservation necessary, but excellent NOLa cuisine with all sorts of odd recipes. If you'd like other restaurant reco's, I suggest the following (but look them up, they range from hoity-toity to grungy): Galatoire's, Bacco (both high end), Felix's (oysters, trad gumbo), Bayona (high end), Herbsaint (out of FQ, expensive), muffeletta's at Central Grocery, coffee at Cafe du Monde of course (be prepared for utterly uncommunicative waiter), The Old Coffee Pot (early breakfast).
Don't go to these tourist traps, though the food will be OK: Court of Two Sisters, Gumbo Shop, Praline Connection, Mr. B's, Acme, Redfish Grill, Coyote Ugly, Hard Rock Cafe, Pat O'Brien's (except to the courtyard bar at "original" Pat's for drinks).
Beware walking. Stay in the "approved" pedestrian areas, don't stray. Neighborhoods change over a single street, muggers / murderers prey on this radical change. If you're familiar with Memphis or Philadelphia you'll be fine; if you're a twee Canadian who expects that people will look out FOR you and that you SHOULD have a right to walk WHEREVER YOU WANT then you deserve to die, and it will happen sooner than you want. :)

In general, waitresses are local, and in general, local girls aren't that hot. The hot girls are usually from out of town, and show you more than cleavage.
A few more recommendations, if you want to get out of the Quarter:
1) Cochon (on Tchoupitoulas): Great cuisine. Kind of modern creole. Definitely try the Old Fashioned. Best OF in town.
2) Dick and Jennie's (also on Tchoup): They do things with meat that you won't believe. Some of the best food around.
3) Dooky Chase (on Orleans): oldest African-American female-owned restaurant in the city. Miss Leah, the owner, is probably one of the oldest, most important people in town. Her gumbo z'herb is to die for.
Went to the Green Door late. Mamasan answered the door and asked for. 8. I said "for the hour? " She said "for massage". I should have left then.
The place was dingy and dirty and the table shower was quick. Once in the room there is a cursory back rub and then quickly to the flip. I could not talk her down below. 6 for french. It was fast and unremarkable. Very mechanical.
I would not go back. I am thinking of booking one of the tantric massage girls that advertise on CL.

I would definitely NOT suggest the SW scene in the French Quarter. There are probably some available, especially in certain regions where it might be more "accepted," but my guess is that the percentage of police stings is very very high relative to almost any other typical stroll in the USA, and that even if you do find a girl who isn't with the fuzz she's likely to be a skanky low-tier selection, at best.
There are two other "strolls" in NOLa, but both are remarkably unreliable. This city just doesn't support SW culture sufficiently to make it possible to land what you can in Memphis or Houston or certain parts of NYC-metro or Toronto or even Tampa. One is out on Chef Menteur highway, but that is only active on a few hours on a given weekend, as far as I can tell. The other is on Jefferson Highway in low-class Jefferson Parish. You'll need a map to find either.
I think the more reliable service options in New Orleans are two-fold. Either (a) Passions (a ghetto-style black strip club, loud music, bad booze, crappy rest room, very smoky, but with booths for full extras, not private, no amenities, fun to some for the "hunt and choose" aspects) or (b) one of the two or three reputable AMPs (Asian on Canal; Tokyo on Chef; Sakura maybe on Chef).
Looking for a stroll in New Orleans is like seeking a legal brothel in Vegas -- sure, they're generally associated with one another in the popular consciousness, but you are highly unlikely to actually find one there.
I'll be in town next weekend and am leaning towards an experience at The Green Door. First timer, so any tips and advice along with experiences would be appreciated.

I'm surprised you graded Lily Pad and Sakura the way you did. Have you been back to Lily Pad in a while? Not only has their quality gone up, they're owned by the same people as Sakura, and the mamasan rotates the girls between the two establishments. So basically the only real difference is the quality of the physical location itself, which is moderately significant as you point out.

I do have a report on Bamboo spa but it is very old.
Bamboo Spa on Gravier was the very first AMP I ever went too! It was early April of this year and it was such a pathetic experience that I simply put it completely out of my mind.
How much was my own nervousness at what I was doing and how much was just crap service on their part I really don't know.
It was after midnight and it was a. 6 door fee. The only girl I even saw was the one who answered the door. She was quite a looker from Vietnam but very very standoffish and curt. The move is meant to target Metairie establishments along Airline Drive that allegedly cater to prostitutes and drug dealers, council members said. The council, the Sheriff's Office and Parish President Aaron Broussard's administration have been searching for ways to crack down on illicit activities in the area, and the new law would add more clout to the effort, officials said.
The council has tried this before. In 2001, after a state law let local governments adopt their own ordinances regulating hourly rentals, the council moved to ban the practice. Hotel agencies and local hospitals objected, however, saying it unfairly discriminated against patients looking for services or prevented hotels from profiting during special events such as the Super Bowl and the Sugar Bowl.
Councilwoman Jennifer Sneed, who proposed the new ordinance, said it includes exceptions for special events and hotels within a quarter mile of a hospital.

ROFL. Good point, John Stagger. I think he's referring to the fact that, a few posts back, he asked the board's membership to "TOFTT" (by which, I presume, he meant that for his benefit we should investigate a new parlor which he mentioned). Our failure to immediately acquiesce to his demand has now engendered his consternation, and he intends us to understand that he would be more likely to immediately follow orders than we have demonstrated ourselves to be.

We will be game for anything for a good time. Dance bars, strip clubs, restaurants. It doesnt have to be expensive. It doesnt have to be Bourbon Street. I don't know whats going Mon-Thurs in the French Quarter. Maybe there are more fun times to be had elsewhere.
And when I drop my co-worker back to the hotel where would the best places for just me to go to? I have been checking out this forum, CL and Escorts. But haven't found a lot of info. Are there other places I should be looking?

Well, you're going to be disappointed. NOLa is building back up to a "family" destination, and really, before the storm, things weren't all that monger-friendly either. I'd have to say you keep a couple things in mind.
1. Most tourists here don't have a car. We're a big conference city, with a pedestrian tourist district smack next to the hotel zone. So, there really aren't business catering to tourists that are outside of the pedestrian zone. A few, not many. The expectation is, that you'll ride the mini-van directly from the airport to the French Quarter, not step foot in another vehicle (except a dumb horse-drawn carriage, if you're a honeymooner), then right back into the min-van to the airport when you're done.
2. The city is only a population of 200,000, much smaller than most people assume. We had our glory days, we're dwindling now. So the mongering opportunities are only as wide-ranging as those which might serve a city the size of Shreveport, Jackson MS, or Lubbock. :(
3. The city is obscenely poor. There are not a lot of men with wild amounts of disposable income, such as in Dallas or Houston. Mostly we are populated by black impoverished inner-city dwellers, or by white-suburban-flight Catholic do-gooders. Not a great mongering mix.
Nevertheless, you can have some fun. Take-out from a strip club in the French Quarter is likely going to be extremely expensive, and probably not available at the top hours. Go on an off night, or a late afternoon. Try the clubs at the intersection of Iberville and Chartres for some strange (spooky strange). Or Big Daddy's or Unisex on Bourbon.
Head out to Downman Road (get a rental car; probably a $30 cab fare!) for Visions (where the locals go) and, almost next door, Passions (a black ghetto booty club, where cheap FS is available in the cubicles). You will be patted down at the door. Expect a rough crowd.
The only reliable plan, aside from Passions, is an Asian Massage Parlor. I prefer Tokyo on the Chef, or Asian at Canal and (near to) Broad. Some others are good, too, but those two are really guarantees. Search here for specific gals; prices at an AMP should be less than $$; if you've got your wits about you, in the $.4 to $.6 range for FS including the nice massage and table shower.
There are AMPs closer in, one actually inside the FQ and two within a quick walk of the main hotels. Neither is recommended by me as reliable.
P4P is low end at best. There are some needy girls who want their fix and put up a Craig's List ad with some cell-phone-camera picture. Hit or miss at best. There are a few girls who have websites and state that they regularly serve the NOLa area, but most are higher-priced than their appearance would merit. I've been a consistent monger in Houston, Dallas, Tampa, Toronto, NYC, and intermittently in Chicago, Detroit, Miami, so I am comparing to the national market. Girls who would have to be "sub par" in, say, the Texas mega-cities, and therefore lower their prices down to the $200 range for an hour of FS, can command premium prices in NOLa, and make outrageous demands because they do get away with it. In New Orleans she'll post $500 or even $1000 an hour for a girl who wouldn't even get a call if she were in Tampa; and then if you read the reviews at The Erotic Review, you'll see she doesn't even always do FS! There are a FEW hidden gems, but locals tend to keep them to themselves and don't share contact info. I don't know them.
It's not a monger's town. I hope I've been helpful. Others might, of course, disagree, in which case they should post here with their own recommendations.
I recommend Larry Flynt's Barely Legal (tell them the guy who smokes a pipe sent you!) or, right across Bourbon Street, Scores, for "high end" standard strip clubbing. Also, down at Iberville and Bourbon, just off the main Bourbon strip, is Penthouse, also a nice place. All three are expensive but the eye candy should be good.

Was in N.O. this week (3/19 to 3/23).

I think it prudent to mention something else for everyone's benefit: there probably have been changes at Passions since that last review after a recent shooting. Two or three nights ago a death occurred in the Passions parking lot or on the street in front of the club, as I understand it from a gunshot wound. It was about 1 am. Lots of police cars, from several jurisdictions, including Military Police (they help patrol the city, since Katrina). I don't know any other details. The club does the pat-you-down at the door, so I'm guessing that the altercation took place outside for this reason. I don't know a lot of other details.

Ok,
first night, did the walk, it was ok...lots of clubs, and drinking places.
ended up at Bamboo....i disagree with previous reports

From my experience with the SC’s in the Quarter. Just go to a club and find a girl at the end of her shift and you will find the take-out you are looking for. Your best bet might be the Visions then off to Tokyo plan. I was out the other night and ran all the regular strolls including Chef and only saw one SW that was about a 4 on Tulane. I can't verify Raindog11 suggestion because I haven't seen Sparkle but I can verify that he certaintly knows the town. Not only did he tell you the best places in New Orleans to get a roast beef poor boy but he listed them in order from greatest to very very good.

The scene is alive and well in NOLA, but you have to look. I ve had success at just about any time of day on Central ave in Metairie. Angelle (20s) and Rose (40s) are the best BBBJ providers there with Dawn and Carla (40s) a close second, there are some others but they look horrible. Debbie (40s) on Airline does a great job as well. I had a little bit of luck on Jeff hwy late at night near causeway. Well, I returned from my journey, but not extremely impressed.

The scene is alive and well in NOLA, but you have to look. I ve had success at just about any time of day on Central ave in Metairie. First chance I've had to post in a while so this will be 2 posts in one.

After 2 hours of not even 1 crack ho I stopped in visions looking for my new favorite girl. She wasn’t there and since I was looking for more then a tease I decided to hit the Lily Pad. I’ve had luck there in the past and years ago you could get FS for $100 or $120 if you played the “this is all I have game” and promise to bring more the next time. Now they want $160 but, just to see if I could, I gave $150 and it was accepted. The experience was not memorable. Out came a 40ish, maybe a 7 body but a 4 face Asian. Everything was rushed. The table shower was fast, the massage was unenthusiastic only lasting about 10 minutes, she just went though the motions on the BJ and she couldn’t wait for me to finish during sex. When we were done she told me they had been very slow lately (I wonder why) and to ask for her again next time. Was she kidding. How could she ever expect a repeat with that kind of service? There are not many options around here but enough that will keep me out of this place for at least a year. Some decent service and I might have gone back in a couple of weeks. They just don’t get it.

I've been to a strip club or two, and a spa or two, recently, since my last "substantive" report about mongering. And I have to agree with the previous poster, the things available in New Orleans are dwindling. Maybe it's not "convention season" or something? Maybe the gals have snuck under the radar because it's close to the election (and District Attorney and a few criminal judges are included among the offices up for balloting)? I dunno. I visited Asian (Canal Street), Tokyo (Chef Menteur), Sakura (new one on Chef), Lily Pad, and man there were just a LOT of unattractive Asian women to choose among. I turned them all down -- and that was after 3 or 4 scotches, so you KNOW I was thinking with the little head. :(
So, it's lookin' bad. I like the report about the strip club. I have had a rather high-contact time at Visions lately too, but nothing as extreme as reported below. I've just found, that the lappers are closer to "true Tampa style" with full-straddle, major hand touching outside my clothing on all my parts, and my opportunity to put hand and lips anywhere I'd like, generally speaking. I don't find this noteworthy, relative to Tampa or Toronto or San Francisco or Houston; but relative to some of what New Orleans used to restrict, it's a pleasant change in this location.
Maybe experiences will be focused on strip clubbing for the near future, and spa-going may be reduced? Maybe the better gals are in the strip joints because of the economy? Dunno ... you figger it out.

There are adequate TER reviews of that Craig Slist girl. In my recollection, she used to look better, a mere few months ago, elsewhere on the net. I'm stunned at how her face is already showing the sunken hollows of drug usage.
There is an asian club off the chef I think it is called Club 1. Anyone been to it? Also 1 block off the chef in that general area is a asian dance club close to the chevron station. Any reports from there? I will try to get to those areas during next week but would like some background info before I go. Anything else that I could check out besides the amps? PM me if you want to.

Most of French Quarter clubs are over priced ripoffs. Visions is generally regarded as the best club to go to, but it is not in the French Quarter. So, you'll need to hail a cab to take you there.
All the old stuff I found on Bangkok Spa made it sound unpredictable.

Interesting. A while back I read a Penn and Teller book. It talked about going to strip clubs to find out what the true morals of a city are. I have experimented with this all over the world. Much of the world have rooms in back like Prauge or Bangkok because the strip is just to get you in the door for the real purpose. Some of the clubs in Guam are that way as well.
In Seattle we have full nude clubs, but no alcohol allowed. There is also a four foot rule during the nude dancing so no touching or handing tips to girls. Lap dances are with the girls wearing covered.
Anchorage they had full nude and alcohol. I have not received a lap dance there.
I've seen pretty impressive sex shows in Barcelona, Amsterdam and Bangkok.
