Seeing as how this comes up now and then, I figured this would be a good thread to start.

Maybe you're married and you need to be careful about this hobby of ours. Maybe you have standing in community. Maybe you just believe you have a right to privacy (shocking idea in this day and age). Then I guess this thread is for you, and this would be a good place to discuss information security and privacy, and help those who have questions.

No political discussions, because it always devolves.

No conspiratorial rants. Level-headed discourse about law enforcement and intelligence surveillance is fair game.

Be respectful of each other.

I've always been aware of my digital footprint. I don't engage in social media that much (maybe 15 minutes a week) because it's always creeped me out. I use a mail hosting service based outside the Five Eyes treaty for my mongering correspondences. I pay for a VPN and use it when I feel the need arises. Been thinking about getting a dedicated burner phone.

I'm still trying to decide which one is best but it seems ExpressVPN is more secure.I'm kind of suspicious of the VPNs that advertise a lot on YouTube. Not that I don't think they work, but any reviews of them are going to be tainted because of how much money they throw around.

I use ProtonVPN. They're a smaller provider based in Switzerland and they're well-regarded in security circles.

Brothers,

My research into ping and other metrics involving several different vpn providers has lead me to IPVanish VPN. I feel we must consider the fact that we are located in the most remote location on earth as to include our distance from major internet hubs.

I bought a Tracfone phone and plan from Walmart to use for mongering and it's also the number I give to bargirls if I like them. Pay cash for it so it can't be tracked back to you. When activating it for the first time I used a pay phone in Ranch 99 (gone now) or you could use public internet at the library to do so as well.

DB,

Thank you for starting this thread.

I bought the burner phone from Target, and prepaid plan from ATT, at the recommendation of the ATT rep. Phones used be under. 5 my last go round. They are over $ now. Use the store address and fake name. Tell the rep that it's for gambling. Been doing this for years. I go back to when oldie posted regularly. Think ukieater told me about it.

Recently installed Turbo VPN. Not sure how safe, but got me into the bedpages sites. I was blocked without it.

Thanks again and look forward to sharing relevant info.

NL.

Steps for an anonymous monger life:

VPN. Prefer NORD or NORTON VPN $60 a year for either.

Burner Phone: Pre-paid phone ATT or Veri $100 a year.

Phone Service: Talktone. Free but need to use at least once a month, not as anonymous as pre-paid phone.

Email Account: Setup secondary email account where porn subscriptions, etc will collect at and you seem like a legit customer.

VISA recharge cards: gift cards that can be recharged at stores, once purchased recharge as required.

Crime car. Car that does not attract attention and if stopped seems to fit profile of neighborhood.

Coins for meters.

Use cash or vemo to pay for activities. Avoid personal credit cards and personal checks. Avoid carrying anything that can identify you.

If any of these seems compromised abandon and get another.

While that's more convenient than street parking, doesn't that leave a trail for anyone on a stakeout or in the house? Can someone search for the identity of the car owner from his HI license plate number?

So far in Hawaii, only first responders (PD, FD, EMS) and DMV workers have access to license plate to car owner's info through the DMV's electronic information system.

Is there a benefit of using burner phones vs the phone number apps?

I use TextFree and TextNow, which both gives free alternative 808 area code phone numbers. If anything goes wrong I simply delete the app from my phone.

Now I can't texts from my regulars, like Coco. If you use an app, be sure to keep a separate record of phone numbers.

If you're going to use a VPN connection make sure you understand the ToS, services like NORD or NORTON VPN's will happily give your info with out warrants, they also log most of if not all of your traffic.

Here is a link to the website.

http://jimspss1.courts.state.hi.us: 8080/ eCourt / ECC / LicensePlateSearch. Iface.

Just look under the vehicle tab and type in the license plate number. You can also use ecourt kokua to research lawsuit information and criminal case history by searching a person's name.

If their record is clean I can't find out who the owner of the license plate belongs to.

Not sure if this is the right thread but has anyone had experience being in an AMP when a bust went down? I'm asking about since the law was changed so that customers may be charged. Did you get arrested or did cops look the other way? I had this experience more than once in the past including a time over a decade ago in which a female uniformed cop actually entered the room and told me and the girl I was with to stay put and we would be OK. However, that was not a prostitution bust. They were looking for a particular girl on a drug warrant.

Since the change in the law, I am getting paranoid particularly about the larger higher profile places. Can anyone report first hand on being arrested?

Been awhile since I've posted here, but this seems salient to this forum.

I think we need to understand that the idea of a guy in a van with binoculars staking out the parking lot of a known AMP or building with multiple establishments is as old fashioned as a land line. If LE wants to surveil someplace, all they need is a camera. Doorbell cameras. Traffic cameras. Cameras on ATMs. Security cameras on neighboring businesses or on the building in question itself.

I posted this on the Pali thread awhile back about license plate readers. This is something to consider if you want to maintain your privacy when you go to a parlor.

If you're provider, and I know there's some of you who lurk on these forums, think about this when you park your car where you work or if you do car dates.

Wondering how many of you use signal or other messaging apps. I was reluctant to use these apps in the past because they have to be tied to a phone number, but Signal recently allowed the use of usernames instead of phone numbers.

I'm also playing around with Threema, which uses a public / private key arrangement to send establish messaging rather than a phone number.

Burner app has its limitations but I don't want to carry around 2 phones when I travel. I haven't tried Telegram. Any thoughts on that?I believe line is generally considered to be fairly secure but personally I would not use WeChat. It's an app pushed in China as a super app, and while I have no illusions about three letter agencies reading my email, intercepting my texts and calls, it's pretty much the same with WeChat and the Chinese govt.

Telegram seems fairly secure, but it might be compromised. It's popular with Russians, to the extent that they use it to coordinate military operations because their own encrypted communications infrastructure doesn't work. But Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, was arrested by the French a few years ago. Speculation was that he gave up the encryption keys in exchange for his freedom, as the messages could theoretically opened by someone with an encryption key for the cloud storage for the message history.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cg703lz02l0o

Not saying anything is perfect, but the only app that's consistently used in privacy-focused subreddits and websites is Signal. Threema comes as well, but it has a smaller user base because it's a paid app.

It looks like with the username implementation of Signal, it takes your phone number displayed with your info out of the equation. And if you never wanted to use your number for Signal, my understanding is that you could use a burner phone or app to open the account, then terminate service for the number. I'm looking into this now.

If you got a Samsung phone it's good to keep everything in the secure folder.

Secure folder is like Incognito Mode for the phone. Like a separate isolated profile in the phone.

Use your burner e-mail, the same one you use for this forums and others like Rubmaps etc. Create a burner Google account with it inside the secure folder.

Use your Samsung Secure folder with your new burner Google account and use a burner phone app like Hushed or others that was discussed earlier. Pay the Google account with a prepaid card paid with cash. This way you keep everything hidden inside the secure folder which you can turn off and hide anytime. You can even change the name and icon of the Secure Folder to something less revealing like "Developer Mode" etc.

Only use cash.Yeah, I don't understand why some girls take electronic payments. It's all a paper trail and if there's enough money changing hands it gets reported to the IRS.

I wouldn't even use BTC. Even if you use mixers and that sort of thing, someone with enough time and motivation could put together the details of the transaction.

Cash is king. No matter what its size, it fits me. Electronic payments are convenient but the cost is privacy.

For me, I'm just more concerned about the person I'm taking to. I don't necessarily want he / she to know more than I want to divulge. Wechat is pretty good in that I have control over what the other person can see and it's pretty simple to set up my privacy (unlike FB which has tons of individuals settings). Plus I have lots of CN providers / friends on wechat so it's hard not to use it. Wechat for CN, LINE for JP, kakao for KR.

I also do the secure folder in my Samsung. Put all my trophy pictures and videos there too. Wechat, LINE, burner, activity tracker, even internet browser with USASG / ISG / bedpage / mojo / PH / redtube / etc shortcuts.

Telegram is server based but the founder seems legit.

Best way is your own PGP, use https://mailvelope.com/en them whatever you send can sit anywhere and be encrypted (except subject lines and attachments). And until quantum breaks it.

AI summary of the article:

Across America, police departments are increasingly deploying "scarecrows", also known as COWs (cameras on wheels). These mobile surveillance units, rented by companies like Flock Safety and ECAM, feature CCTV masts with AI-powered facial recognition capabilities, aiming to deter crime and provide evidence.

https://futurism.com/artificial-intelligence/surveillance-scarecrows-police

I've seen these in parking lots on Oahu. Definitely seen one at the Pearl City WalMart parking lot.

These scarecrows / COWs can do license place reading. So one more reminder that the cops don't need to park a van to keep tabs on who comes and goes from an establishment.

I've seen unmarked cars parked outside our places from time to time. Here's one in front of Peach. Is this something to worry about? It's kind of weird that they'd park a car with a lightbar because that's a giveaway, but yeah. I'd be cautious about it.

What you need to think about is what kind of exposure you have if anything happens. Would you lose some kind of social or professional standing? Divorce and alimony? If you have a lot to lose, maybe park a few blocks away and don't draw any attention to yourself. Maybe set up an outcall at a busy hotel.

Also keep in mind that there isn't anything we know that they don't know. They monitor the sites like this and all the others we talk about. Plus Peach has been busted, right? (Or maybe I'm thinking of another place.)

What we have going for us is that the gaming rooms have priority in terms of where the prosecutors are prioritizing their enforcement. The prosecutor's office has said that massage parlors are not the only their radar, but that just means the feds are the ones doing the raids now. And I wouldn't discount local cops are assisting them in one way or another. Also, that statement was made 5 years ago, so who knows if that's still policy, and if a new prosecutor gets elected, all bets are off.

https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2021/05/29/honolulus-new-prosecutor-stops-massage-parlor-prostitution-raids/

Two points in recent media interviews with new Honolulu police chief David Lazar that could potentially affect privacy, mongers, and mongering.

(1) He envisions more use of new technologies by HPD, including cameras, drones, and AI.

(2) He wants to significantly reduce or eliminate the current HPD shortage of 461 officers. My opinion: if successful, that would mean many more officers available for anti-prostitution activities, which of course the police will broadly call anti-sex trafficking activities. HPD, found any "sex trafficking" victims at Pearl City Relaxation yet?
