How do I go to a particular post by number within a thread?

Thanks, all!You could do it by navigating back in a "simple" random fashion by clicking on the page numbers at the top or bottom of each page, by wide margins at first and then by successively narrower ones back and forth as you get closer to the page that has the post you're looking for, however that is a rather clumsy and inexact method (and if you have a slow connection can take some time as you wait for each page to load).

Fortunately, there is a more precise way to find your post but it requires a little math. The formula is:

x = ⌈(cp-tp+1)/pp⌉

where
x = target page
cp = the current most recent post
tp = the target post and
pp = post per page

So say you're looking for post #1212, since the current most recent post at the time of this writing is this one or #1553, then the numerator (number of posts, including the current one, that have past since the one you're looking for) is currently 342. If you stick with the default 15 posts per page then the target page would be 23 (1553-1212+1)/15 (rounded up).

You now know how many pages back you'd have to go, but you still can only get there in jumps of 10 plus you get a full page of 15 posts rather than just the one you're looking for.

To get even more quickly and precisely where you want to go just click on any other page. Up at the top of your browser window in the address box you should see something like:

I have been a member at AM for several years. I purchased the big membership when I joined and have added credits to it a couple of times. In my opinion, you will find a couple of different types of women there.

Re: CL adult section shutdown, I agree with the others. I haven't referred to it in a long time so I certainly won't miss it. I also agree that the providers who were advertising on it will just find other ways to promote their business on other sites or even simply in other sections of CL. Where I think this event has more significance is really mostly in what it says about attitudes in this country and perhaps trends to where things may be heading. They'll never shutdown the world's oldest profession, but they may drive it more underground (thereby increasing the risk for all involved) or make it a bit harder for those interested in it to practice.

I also find it curious that one of the justifications used by those seeking to shut it down was the suggestion that the "promotion of sex minors was rampant on the site". Perhaps there was some of that going on but the VAST majority of the ads were for commercial sex between consenting adults rather than sex with minors. In fact, the only case of an ad for sex with minors on CL (or BP) that I was ever aware of was the FAKE one placed by the Pasco SO to entrap foolish creeps. Was the purpose of that operation really to do something serious about that problem or was it at least partially to misuse and discredit CL. Wouldn't it have been amusing if the CL editorial staff had caught wind of that ad and reported it to the police themselves )not realizing it was actually the police who placed the ad) and would we have even heard about it if that had happened? And, to the degree that really was a wider spread problem with that sort of thing on CL, there are certainly better ways of dealing with it then forcing it more underground or eliminating the whole section including all the ads for real adults along with the really few for minors. How about simply requiring CL to better review ad content and report ads that appear to promote sex with minors?

They also like to cite ads involving pimps who were in some way coercing adult women, but pimps having been doing that sort of thing long before CL or BP ever came around. Attacking the advertising medium these pimps use really does little to lessen their influence. In fact, the growth of cheap advertising mediums like CL or BP has probably done more to make it possible for women who choose or need to practice this line of work to do so INDEPENDENTLY of any pimps, so removing it may actually make them more vulnerable to falling back under the influence of those pimps.

Basically, they cite the most horrifying and egregious examples of abuse to vilify advertising sites like CL, but those cases probably really represent a tiny minority of what appears on those sites. And there could have been much more effective and targetted ways of dealing with those worst cases than shutting the entire section down and penalizing everybody else. No, what they were really after was the ENTIRE market which they disapprove of, prostitution IN GENERAL (which when between consenting adults as it usually is, is really a victimless crime)

I have recently taken it upon myself to try out M4W section of CL and I had immediate success. First time, first answer. A real woman, attractive and now I see her once a week. To think I have been dropping $$ all over the place.

Until I get some reviews up, I thought I'd drop some knowledge that might be useful. Long timers probably know this stuff already, but I figured I'd throw in what I can. I hope general reports is the right place, since I didn't see anywhere more relevant.

Obviously everyone is computer literate, since they are posting on a forum. The last thing I want is to be corresponding with. Someone. And I find a troop of blue or green uniforms at my door. This isn't going to stop an fbi trace, but it's not like anyone here is high on the most wanted list. You can use a proxy server to mask your IP address.

There's a few ways to do it, and obviously you can google if my explanation isn't clear.

One way is to go into your (for internet explorer) web browser's Tools Options Connections Lan Settings. Then select proxy server, enter a proxy IP and port. To find a proxy IP and port just google proxy server IP's. They change too often for me to give out any.

Another way is to use a proxy software like proxy way or whatever you find that is right for you budget (the free ones usually work just fine).

Proxy servers aren't bulletproof, but they are a little protection you might not have otherwise had. (Theoretically, a site could be put up for a fake SW that collected everyone's IP that visited the site, that's one headache that can be avoided).

How do the threads appear when you read them? Do they appear oldest post first or do the new posts appear on the top of the page? Ever since this damn red and blue color scheme appeared, when I open a thread I see all of the old posts first then I have to navigate down to the "last" page to see the new posts. Like I said, prior to this new color scheme, they did not do this. I think it is incredible stupid to display posts sorted oldest to newest but I will be damned if I can find the setting to change the sort order.

And it seems to me that the site is running slower lately as well. I know that something named igsadvertising. Com is being called when any new page is opened so it is probably some sort of marketing crap that is bogging things down.

Just frustrated.

Going to give it a try and will report back.I've tried vitamin V, Vitamin L, and I guess we're calling it Vitamin C in recreational fashion. I agree Vitamin L seems to have the best overall results. Vitamin C however, is the least risky. I always get worried taking "vitamins", the side affect can be pretty messed up. That 4 hour warning thing is definitely not something to be ignored.

Those nutritional supplements are a bit concerning though. Only L-Arginine has any real used application towards activity. The other two have anecdotal evidence at best, in line with placebo effect. Both are good for the liver, but there's little difference in taking it daily and taking it before action. L-Arginine though is cool in that it works counter intuitively, lowing blood pressure (which actually helps despite what common sense would think). It's near impossible to get any ill effects from those vitamins though, so it's definitely worth a shot, and I'll wish you luck. I would recommend separating out the L-Arginine and trying it on it's own, as I suspect that any improvement will likely be due to that.
