Man killed in prostitution sting
Aurora officer shoots suspect at Colfax motel

AURORA - A subject of an undercover prostitution sting was shot and killed by an Aurora police officer at an East Colfax Avenue motel Wednesday afternoon.
"An undercover female officer, who found herself alone with the suspect in one of the rooms, signaled for uniformed officers to come into the room to arrest the suspect," police spokesman Rudy Herrera said.
When the officers entered, a "confrontation" ensued, and the suspect was shot by one of them, he said.
Officers immediately began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the wounded man, Herrera said.
The man, whose identity wasn't known Wednesday night, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he died.
The incident occurred inside a second-floor room at the Top Star Motel, 10890 E. Colfax Ave., about 4:40 p.m., Herrera said.
He said only one officer fired. It was not clear if more than one shot was fired.
The room, at the front of the motel and nearest busy East Colfax, was rented to the Aurora police, said motel manager Ernest Casimier.
"They pull the sting every blue moon, periodically," Casimier said. This is the first time anyone was shot, he added.
"I guess the gentleman they shot was walking across the parking lot with one of the girls. When they went into the room, I heard the pops, four or five pops - pop, pop, pop," he said.
Casimier said the sting started about 3 p.m., and the man who was shot wasn't the first man the undercover officers had taken to that room to be arrested. "As far as me sitting here, I'd probably say about the third or fourth guy. The third one, maybe," he said.
Officers involved in the operation were taken to Aurora police headquarters to be interviewed by investigators, Herrera said.
The officer who fired the fatal shot will go on paid administrative leave pending completion of the investigation.
None of the officers at the scene were injured, Herrera said.
After the cop shoots to kill, why would they do resusitation. If they want him to live, they could shoot him in the arm.
Shooting in the arm won’t always stop a man with a weapon. That’s cowboy movie stuff. Officers shoot to stop a suspect and sometimes the suspect dies. I’ve always told my clients to never resist - NEVER. Even if the officers are acting unreasonably or unlawfully, this will be an issue for another day.
Having said that, in a society with a reasonable government, the sting should not have been set up in the first place.

I have wanted to ry out the scene here in Denver bu there seems to be sooo much risk. I've been to Rio about 50-75 times over the past 5 years mostly for work. I was just down in November. I was supposed to go back in Dec. but business slowed. I will try to make it down for Carnaval atleast if not maybe Jan. I have never met anyone from CO there. Can you recomend some action around here that is not as high risk? I was thinking of bringing some of the high end girls to the states and have them tour strip clubs. That would be a trip.

We've got some slow action on the Denver board, even with the nice weather today. Not much to report. I ran the stroll on the Fax from Lincoln east to Peoria. The time was about 4:00-4:30 p.m. today (Saturday). I couldn't get "the eye" from any young (or old) lady. Most of them looked like they were shopping. Checked out 16th just east of Nome also. The lady mentioned a couple of months ago was not there either. Mind you, I wasn't there all day....just 30 minutes; but I've followed the same route numerous times in the last month with the same results. Have they all gone to Phoenix for the winter?
My hand seems to be developing some callouses for some reson. Is ANYBODY getting any "'tang" on our fair streets?

It comes out every Wednesday evening and you can get it at their red newspaper boxes at bustops or at the entrance to many restaurants or supermarkets (King Soopers, where they have the free real estate magazines etc.) The Aurora (suburb of Denver) AMP's (about 25% of all the AMP's) are no longer advertising. I think Aurora is cracking down on them. There are still plenty of ads for other parts of town. Will you have a car? What part of town will you be staying in?

After dropping off a friend at DIA on late Thursday evening, I drove back west on Colfax starting at 225. While stopped at the light at Ursula and Colfax, looking south, I saw several girls standing down by 14th. So I swung around and headed back east to the Aurora Bowl (Xanadu), then swung south so I could approach from the east on 14th.

5280, have you seen our "friend" that sometimes hangs up on 16th a few blocks west of Peoria? I've been by there 1-2 times a week for quite awhile. I saw her there just once. I wonder when she's typically out?
I agree that the pickings are pretty slim all the way to I-25 and downtown. Maybe it's because the weather has been cold. If I see anything, it's usually skanks and/or crack hoes! I'm not sure I want a BBJ of FS from them.

Re: BlackHawk/Central City. Up until the holidays, I've been up there most weekends, sometimes spending the night, the better part of 2002-2003. I've seen NO activity or action, especially around the Isle of Capri, Riviera, Colorado Central Station, etc.
I did get "action" in one of the Lodge's rooms about a year ago, but that wasn't from "mongering". It was more of a gfe from connecting with a Vail gal on the Mon Chalet swinger's board. We got acquainted and decided to meat at the Lodge for an overnight.
Speaking of the MonChalet forum, I found it interesting that some "swinger couple" there has some great pussy pics posted. Cruised the Fax and Federal strolls Friday night from about 8:00-9:30 p.m. I found the "pickings" slim to none at that time. It was either too early or too late. According to 5280's report, it was probably too late.
Federal: I cruised from I-76 south to Alameda and saw nothing, not even in the shadows. LE was minimal too.

Friday a.m. wee hours report: I found myself on the Fax in the wee hours after a private party that ended about 4:00 a.m. Friday morning. Cruised the Fax all the way from Sable in Aurora west to Golden where I picked up I-70. (Remember, Colfax is the "longest main street in the country", and it took awhile to cruise the entire drag. Friday night during the cruise, I stopped in to the Hollowood Love Boutique, which is just west of Federal and Alameda. The sometimes-fun old Kitty's Alameda Theatre has bit the dust and is now remodeled into a modern "sex boutique". I was in town only a few days, visiting family. I did not have the time to check out the street action and did not want to chance it with all of the LE active that was talked about here so I picked up a copy of Westword like I was told.

All along FAX, especially near downtown, there was lots of LE activity. Probably due to the recent increase in anti-pro media reports, and the stock show.

Cruise report Sat. Jan 17:
I cruised the Fax stroll Saturday from Downtown to I-225. The time was around 5:30 p.m. The pickings were slim from downtown all the way to Colorado Blvd. From Colo Blvd to I-225, there were several WSW's and BSW's, starting a mile or so east of Colo. Blvd. They were reasonable attractive, ranging about 6-7 on the trophy scale: one blond, two brunnettes were walking the sidewalk looking "hungry".
Further east toward Aurora, there were 4-5 BSW's. One, located just off the Fax on Moline gave me the eye as I passed by twice. Unfortunately, there just wasn't time to check any ladies out today. I checked out Crese's old hangout. In the neighborhood a BBS WSW gave me the eye. LE was fairly minimal, both in Denver and Aurora.
14th at Ursula: There were no SW's out; probably having dinner at that time. Unfortunately, there waas no time to party tonight.

It comes out every Wednesday evening and you can get it at their red newspaper boxes at bustops or at the entrance to many restaurants or supermarkets (King Soopers, where they have the free real estate magazines etc.) The Aurora (suburb of Denver) AMP's (about 25% of all the AMP's) are no longer advertising. I think Aurora is cracking down on them. There are still plenty of ads for other parts of town. Will you have a car? What part of town will you be staying in?

If you are planning to bring ladies back to your room, you might want a hotel where you can drive right up to your room and enter from the car. La Quinta in Aurora on I-225 and Mississippi is a clean place, fairly priced (try to get the $59/night special), and is only 5 minutes away from East Colfax (just hop onto I-225 North and you will be at Colfax real fast).
There is a "swingers" hotel on Colfax, the Mon Chalet.

There are also plenty of flea bag hotels on Colfax, but they are real sleazy and filthy.
I think you might be dissappointed with Colfax. It is very hit and miss and there is often LE patrolling or undercover. Many of the SWs are also real skanks. I prefer the AMPs.

You're a couple blocks away from some clubs: PJ's on the same street as the showroom or whatever the hell it's called, south of you on the left corner-if you take a left at that corner head east you'll hit PT's or whatever 1 block up on the left. Pt's maybe cool, if you like clip joints, saw one decent report-my experience with clubs in D is not fer me, I like to play for what I pay. But those two strip joints are very close to you. The action is on COl and Colfax-north of you by half a mile and slightly east on Colfax-major BLVD. That's the heart of major street action here-between the hours 3-8 pm, don't waste your time on late nights here-rush hour is best. Never pay more than 30-60 Lire no matter how good the store dummies look.

No street action by your hotel. Across the street there is a famous strip club called Shotgun Willies. It is 100% no touch and a bit pricey. About 6 blocks east of Shotgun Willies, on Virginia Ave., there is another strip club called PT's Gold, again no touching.
For SWs you have to cruise Colfax Avenue between Broadway (downtown) and I-225. Be very careful of the cops.
For AMPs:

A couple of things....
Cruised 'Fax this evening (Saturday) -- very few (like 2, I think) SW's that I could see around 3PM. However, when I returned, at about 6M or so, there was a gaggle of women at the Fax/Glencoe area, but LE was already making it's presence known. I did attempt to make some contact with a very slim blonde in a hot pink shirt, but she would look at me, and continue walking. I have noticed that the better looking the SW, the more difficult it is for me to get her to come to the door. I have been told on a couple of occasions that I have an "LE look"...not sure if that is because of my look, or my age, or my car, or a combination of those. Anyway, I was unsucessful.
Which brings me to my next posting -- left the 'Fax and headed over to the newly (re-)opened Jade spa. Different mama-san answered than I am accustomed to seeing, but services was still great. For a good hotel for you out of towners, I stayed at the Ramada on Colfax.
It is not the nicest place, but it is clean and decent for sure.
The rooms are actually in good shape.
I got a free upgrade to the business suite, but the room I had before that was nice and roomy as well.
I got a web special for 59 dollars a night, and they have dsl internet.
It is located right towards the beginning of the cruise.
MrCruiser, While I believe your story, I feel that you are leaving quite a bit out. You were busted for solicitation and you didn't even proposition a police decoy? How did they know it was a pay for play? Did you admit to giving the SW money for sex? When she appeared in court did she admit to having been utilized by the police? It sounds like entrapment to me. It seems to me that if you kept your mouth shut and hired a decent attorney that getting you off would have been a slam dunk. But of course I don't have all the details. If she wasn't a cop the motel would have been safe. A lot of people don't realize that to enter your motel room the cops need a search warrant just like at your home. You don't have to let them in.

I goto an ATM on the Fax. Get the cash and she suggest the motel. Again idoit pill, did not ask or suggest something else. Normally I do my thing in the car, but this SW was hot.
We get to the Driftwood, she did not have the room I got out and payed for the room, got the keys and we entered.

I'm sorry but I just have to add my two cents worth here. I don't think the mistake that got him busted was paying too much money. Sure the price was steep but that doesn't have anything to do with getting arrested. He went (not to her place) but a public motel and purchased a room. Safe enough. When a sting is going on the girl always has the room already. I'm sure the room wasn't wired; otherwise they would have introduced the tape in court. The SW wasn't working with the cops or she would have been in court as well. So far he's done everything right, albeit he was paying too much.
So, what happened? I am an experienced monger and have lots of friends in the legal system. Here is my possible scenario:
Cruiser is spotted picking up known prostitute. He is then followed and observed entering a motel room. The police wait a couple of minutes and knock. They immediately separate the two. He is told that she snitched him off and that he was a john paying for sex. He is told that things will go better for him if he is honest since he's already busted. They basically tell her the same thing. He admits to solicitatation and is cited. She probably says nothing and is let go or held if she has warrants or drugs.
So, what was the only mistake MrCruiser made? He talked. The police had no case so they needed him to make the case for them.
ALWAYS in a situation like this: SAY NOTHING! Remain silent and ask for an attorney. They will say that you don't have the right since your not under arrest, but hold your ground. All they had was circumstantial evidence and the possible word of a hooker they coherced into snitching on you.
You could ask every criminal lawyer in America what to say in such a situation and every last one would say "absolutely nothing". The information contained on your driver's license is all they're legally required to obtain from you.

Quality over quantity.
I’m getting freaked after my near brush with the LE. Plus, so many regulars are telling their stories about their busts. It seems that if you work the street enough you’ll get popped. I figure that my number is bound to come up soon. While you may get out of it in court, with the right approach, I’m not at all interested in getting cuffed, bailed out and having to defend myself.
As of now, I’m officially done with the street. I’ll save my money, get action less frequently, and use the AMPs or call services (*************.com sowet.com) to satiate my needs. While these cost more, I’ll just go less often. I really appreciate the increased quality of the encounters. (Things like a bed instead of the car seats, a full hour of fun instead of 10 min, ease of use in finding the right hookup instead of cruising up and down the fax and clean girls!).
You guys have fun out there – and be careful! I’ll give you guys reports on the AMPs that I go to. No need to review the call services – both of the boards that I mentioned above already have review sections on them so you can read them there.

Breeze, I agree and I'm not trying to start an argument either but I believe information is the best way to avoid being arrested. I've picked up literally hundreds of SW's without major incident or arrest.
1) It wasn't a sting. Decoys or informants don't get in the car, drive around, go to ATM's and then have the guy rent his own room. In that amount of time they could have busted 6 or 7 guys.
2) She wouldn't have started sucking him if it were a sting.
3) They don't use non-LE in stings.
4) Smart SW's (especially young, hot, hispanic lovlies) start with exceptionally high prices knowing full well a lot of guys will pay without argument. A savvy monger knows this and negotiates. I picked up a gal tonight that wanted .70 for CBJ. I stopped the car to let her out. We settled on .35 for bbbj.
5) All MrCruiser had to do was keep quiet and the police would have had no reason to arrest him. After about ten minutes they would realize that he wasn't going to incriminate himself and they would leave having nothing to charge him with. At this point I would have resumed the date.
IMHO of course and my last post on the subject.

Sorry if this issue is getting beat to death. I find it fascinating and exceedingly valuable info.
For instance:
1. Using a short stay, but not mentioning all occupants is a crime for the cops to come chasing this fellow? Thats a lesson worth gold right there. If one did that, he would have been COMPLETELY safe from prosecution.
When doing a short stay motel, I never want to give a real address...just part of me thinks that the info can come back and bite me in the ass. Perhaps this is simply not true. It hasn't yet in years!
2. What prompted the LE to goin in after the fellow. How many LE? Vice?
Vice LE = operation.
Regular LE = followed or someone called.
Did the LE know this was going on in the room? How?
3. Get your story together early. Agree to say jack shit. But even if she does, can she incrimate him with only circumstantial evidence? More likely, the LE don't care about evidence at that point and had some other course that led them to him.
During his trial, this info would have to had come out, right?

I am experienced in another city (where I come from). Of course this hoppy business proposal will have to go through some first contact introduction and possibly multiple meetings to setup and explain how it all works. I have been doing this for some time and know my way around the issues. I will find someone and we will make money, it just depends on who. I have always found the situation to be uplifting because it helps people and have found many of the models I work with find a better life in the end not to be over dramatic or anything =)

Stoner, I've been to a few short-stay motels and they have posted in their office the policy of having each person register their ID. The police came up with this idea so they can just go to a motel office and check to see if any of the names comes up on their wanted list.
I too have been caught with an unregistered guest in my room. While not technically a crime, it usually elicites a knock from the motel manager who restates the rule and asks the other guest to register. If you don't and then become beligerent, they call the cops. Most usually don't however.

As promised, AMP report:
Stopped by Kyoto massage – off of Pecos and I70 (find exact address and directions in AMP advertising section in Westword). Took advantage of coupon offer in Westword ($10 off 45 minute session – normally $60). They have some hot new girls. The one who gave me a table shower was at least an 8. Very cute. Was out on Monday night (3/1) and picked up an older lady. We were driving along and she started in on the heavy LE in the area for the last few weeks. She proceeded to give me the low down that sounds alot like what went on with McCruiser. She claims that two young, blond ladies that are too well dressed for Fax are working for LE. She claims that both have been busted for prostitution and were caught with drug para. The ladies work around Fax and Krameria, pick up thei dates and go to a Motel a few blocks away where the bust occurs. She also claims that they wear wires. Yet another AMP report – Holiday Spa – Sheridan and 14th
I’m not going to recommend that you guys try this one. Funky local in Lakewood. It has good off street parking in the back and is pretty discrete in terms of the entrance, although every body driving on Sheridan can see you slip in the door.
40 bought a half-hour of uninteristing massage. Nothing great. Very little in the way of teasing and play. (Even though the Mamasan over at Kyoto does not look as good, she has this mastered, both the massage and the play!). Tip of $40 resulted in a lesson in translated French. Again, not much play or back and forth to start this off. Basically, at the end of my rather weak massage, I asked for what I wanted and she got right too it. She remained dressed the entire time, although with some coaxing her top slid down. She finished and sent me on my way. So far, I much prefer Kyoto.

Before I started posting to this site (wayyy back when -- when it looked much different), I was heavy into the SW scene. I traveled a LOT for business, and so I could always count on this site to point me the right direction, and because of it, I was able to find nice women rather easily in cities that I had never been to.
The problem for me now is the whole LE thing -- it's really put a scare into me. I enjoy the hunt and the thrill of finding some little hottie to date for $40 or $60, but with some of the stories that have been shared here, combined with what I have seen with my own eyes, the Denver scene scares me, which is probably exactly what they would like to hear.
I will continue to troll the known areas (albeit a LOT less), and will post if/when I experience something or see something I think is of interest to the board...but I think I am speaking for several people when I say the AMP/ASP world just seems a lot safer right now.

Like breeze said, you can find SWs off the Fax. You just have to work a little harder and take it when you find it, don't count on it. Like I said in a much earlier posting, I've picked them up on Federal (both north and south of c-fax), 38th, Alameda (east and west of federal) and I've even picked up two on 8th (between speer and 25) and South Colorado (near mississippi) and in and around those cheesy apartments in Glendale.
What I've found is actually better quality (usually) off the fax for the same price. It is totally hit or miss as to seing some action.
Anyway, this board is for posting whatever action is out there: SWs or AMPs or MPs. So lets keep each other informed so we can avoid John Law, know what places are rip-offs and what are real.

I have had some good luck on the fax in the last month or so although I don't cruise as much as I used to because of the consequences of getting busted in Den and Aurora. The last two gals I picked up were pleasent and decided to screw me after a short period and didnt ask for more money. I gave them something extra after.
I definitly have better luck with girls that dont expect a lot of cash for a BJ and/or announce they are from california. I've seen this too. It seems like the LE have a new tactic: Use the SWs as bait and get the johns. Pretty much bad news. The SWs can be totally brazen in their approach, luring in anyone, with no worries about going to jail, they no longer have any need to be coy about what they are up to. You'll take the bust. Best to avoid this section of Cfax.
I've seen a lot action between Federal and Sheridan, some junkie skanks some rational looking things trolling the streets - I saw a really cute SW walking CFax just past Sheridan to the West. As I pulled around a corner she eyed me and asked for a ride - my paranoia kicked in (ever since my conversation with John Law, a couple of months back) and I waved her off. It was probably best as we were in Lakewood.
One approach I've used in the past is to let someone else pickup the SW. Follow at a distance - let them do their thing (if they do it; most of the time guys just drop off the SW some short time later without actually stopping) and wait for the dude to drop her off. Usually they do this off of Cfax by a block or so. Then swoop in for the pickup. This way the SW is clearly not a decoy, and is not being watched by the LE, as they would have busted the first guy. It is time consuming, and tricky, as you don't want to upset the other guy's action, but is probably worth it to avoid the whole LE trip.
I have been to court a few times and 8 AM might not interest you but every day several sw's are charged with something and fined for it. Some of them are nice to look at and dressed in regular clothes. I thought it might be a good place to pick one up and I would be sure it was not a cop or decoy.

In the last year I've watched five or six SW stings happen in Lakewood. Police Chief Burns appears to want to rid the FAX corridor of all SW/john activities.
I've seen more Lakewood decoys actively walking now, rather than just standing, as the LE has several appropriated vehicles to use as roving cover. JEFFCO LE is getting more actively involved too.

Maybe Lakewood LE is reading this forum. A few months back several of us pointed out how to identify the Lakewood stings, (standing SWs) and now the decoys are walking. Best to wait for them to cross Sheridan. Talk to them the on the West of Sheridan, and have them meet you somewhere on the East side of Sheridan.. maybe? Never tried it, but it might be worth a go.

Finally, something for me to report.
Cruised the 'Fax Saturday night starting at the east and moving west. Didn't see anything in the usual parts of the east (Vista, etc.), nor did I see much LE activity.
When I got to the west, though, I was pleasantly surprised at the number of SW. Starting just west of Federal, and continuing on all the way to just about Wadsworth, I saw no less that 6 SW (that I was sure were SW). A nice mix as well, WSW, BSW, HSW. I have been there, and it sucked. Rude as you go in the door, its all about $ not service. They claim to be from Latin America, but just a bunch of girls from the westside. Not a good place. I prefer the asain MP just because you get incredible service. I have been to Oasis, and wow, friendly, rates are across the board, meaning what you will find anywhere else, clean showers and girls.

Mexican/Vietnamese MPs,
I just have to believe that there are Mexican and VNs MPs beause there is such a large population of both groups, but I have no idea where they are located. I would think that some VN or Mexican guys would know about them. Does anyone out there have any VN or Mexican friends that can direct us to them? Thanks

Check sowet.com, there has been a lot of interest in an AMP on Sheridan. I plan on going there myself soon. All indications are that they are FS, but of course that is between you and the masseuse. I have never heard anything consistently good about latino spas, an occasional good time, but I would want better assurance before I part with my hard earned benjamins. Follow the daily message board on sowet for specials and the latest happenings.
