You are correct insofar as it applies to AMP workers. Most Korean women are very industrious, neat, clean, and are good cooks. However these women are very unlikely to work as sex workers. The ones who do wind up in "the life" are there because their lives are fucked up in some way. I think for most of them it's a kind of mental illness that prevents them from doing anything else for a living or from marrying and being a housewife.
I say this as someone who has been married to an ex-AMP worker. It didn't work out and she went back to what she knows will work for her. Strangely enough, she takes a kind of pride in what she does and tries to do it well. But that is because she does not know how to do anything else with her life. It's not that she is stupid, because she is not. But because of her particular life experiences, she lacks self-respect.
I did know one AMP worker after my divorce who was in the country illegally. She happened to be a very nice woman who really loved her children and had a lot of self-respect. She wound up working in AMP's largely because of two reasons. One was that, being illegal, she could not get another (legitimate) job with which to pay off the people who smuggled her into the country and support her children at the same time. The other reason was that she knew she was dying of cancer and felt that she had nothing to lose by being what is essentially a prostitute. However she was greatly ashamed of what she did for a living.
In the end, as she got really sick and could no longer work, I had to take her to the hospital where she stayed for one week. The hospital could not or would not do anything to help her since she was, for all intents and purposes, indigent. Of course they said the cancer had metastasized and had spread into so many of her organs that she was beyond help. After a week they presented me with the choice of putting her in a cheaper county hospital or taking care of her myself at home with the help of a hospice group. The hospice people were life savers and I can't say enough good things about them and their organization.
Before she became very sick indeed, I had taken her to a Korean United Methodist church so she could learn about Jesus and what it means to be a Christian. However when her illness became acute enough that she needed to be admitted to a hospital, I decided to see if she was interested in being baptized as a Roman Catholic. The Korean United Methodist church did not seem to be in any hurry to do so and I was really afraid she would die while in the care of the hospital. She did indeed become a catholic and I believe that this experience gave her a lot of comfort and strength as she approached her final hours.
She died in my home with the help of the hospice workers and with what support could be given by my local Catholic priests, nuns, social workers, etc. After her wonderful spirit left her poor broken body, I decided to have her cremated and buried in the Catholic church to which I had belonged in Maryland. I felt that it was a dignified burial which was in keeping with her great pride as a human being and with her new found love of Christ and of the church. And I wanted to have her in a place where her children could see the dignified way in which she had been interred in the unlikely event that they should ever make it to the U.S. do so.
She is in a wonderfulr Catholic cemetary with a beautiful serene view of the wonderful Western Maryland countryside and next to a historic Maryland Catholic church. A truly fitting final resting place for so wonderful a woman.
But let no one believe that any AMP workers (regardless of nationality) do this work because they like it. There women are generally at the end of their ropes (so to speak) and with few exceptions (those who amass enough money to become an owner or go into some other business) they are headed for an ignominious fate.
Just though you would like to hear from someone who has been very heavily involved with enough AMP workers to know that they are people who need as much help, kindness, and support from customers or friends as those people are willing to give them. Otherwise they will get no medical help for their bodily ailments. More importantly they get no help for the moral and psychological scars which the profession inflicts upon such truly poor women.
If you have any Christian or charitable love for these women, please try to show it to them. Help them in any way you can. Don't degrade them in action or in attitude for the depths to which they have sunk. Enjoy being with them if you can. They benefit greatly by being treated with loving humor, attention, and praise for whatever good qualities you can find in them. But don't forget that these woman could be your sister, your mother, your ex-wife who has fallen (whether through her own fault or through little fault of her own) in to the worst kind of degradation and poverty imaginable. If you can't find some way to help one of them at least feel better about herself, then try not to degrade them any further.

H MHat's off to you Lex! Just goes to show that most of us (hopefully! ) are compassionate humans first, and mongers second! In my years of mongering, I've found that treating providers with respect and compassion goes a long way toward receiving better service, especially on return visits, whether with SW's or AMP girls. Of course you're going to run into your share of bitches and ROB's, but for the most part if you treat providers with respect and compassion, I've found that they'll reciprocate. But, I’ve been going to her for a while now and go quite regularly. I do tip her very well though because my sessions usually run well over an hour and she is busting her butt the entire time trying to get deep into the muscles.
Doing deep tissue / shiatsu type massage is frickin hard work, plus she really knows what she’s doing. Her therapeutic massage is probably the best I’ve ever had and these days I’ve just been going to see her for injuries or very tight and sore muscles. As a result, my sessions are quite intense and the only thing I want to do afterward is take a hot shower and hit the sack. No feeling for HE after that kind of a workout. Usually in the morning, I wake up feeling like a million bucks! Pain all gone!
With this bad recession things are hard for so many people. Jean told me that it’s been really slow for her these days. On most days she may have only 1 or 2 appointments, sometimes even no appointments for the whole day! So, I can certainly understand why she would want to increase her "base rate". With such a huge decrease in business, I don’t know how she makes ends meet.

I've been a long time reader, and now a first time poster. To begin with I would like to thank all of you for the great reports. I've been a closet monger for about 16 years.
