I know the media is a poor source for info on busts but from what I have read in the papers/seen on the news/heard from friends, they only bust the establishment workers. A few years ago I remember reading something about an AMP called Heaven something or other that was on Ward getting raided. They used INS to go after the illegal immigrant workers. - Aren't there laws against bodily contact? If they are going for thes types of arrests, then they must surely be breaking down the doors.

This is in reference to the Honolulu sub-forum only. As a newbie at WSG, at first I thought the 2005 Reports, 2004 Reports, were clunky, and made it difficult to research. I literally had to read all of the posts from beginning to end. But I also think the new policy may have the side effect of diffusing the information needlessly.
Since Honolulu is such a small place with limited types of activities and a small active membership, this would be my suggestion. Lock three threads to the top.

I would also suggest that you close the yearly report threads and lock them below the three primary threads.
These changes will allow easier access to related subject matter, and may also simply the exchange of information. It will also allow, as is your intent, new threads pertaining to other subjects to come and go with time and tide.

She insisted her girls only offer relaxation, even after we told her we caught it on tape.
When we tried to talk to another evergreen employee, she gave us the finger.

Each week, police send undercover officers into these parlors. Last year, more than a third of all the prostitution arrests they made, were inside the salons. But Lieutenant Ozeki says even with evidence of illegal activity, they have a tough time stopping it.

LexLuther :)These places are not licensed to perform massages. If you say you got a massage for a fee all that will do is get them in a different type of trouble and you will probably be called as a witness since it is your statement that gave them the info in the first place.
Every so many years these reports come out and it will be blown over. IMO the AMPs have gotten a little too bold with their advertising and the sheer number of them makes them stand out even more. They need to stay under the radar.

With all the post about finding Japanese girls, I was wondering why there isn't a thread on the art of Nampa.
Nampa is the art / skill of picking up girls / guys, or basically flirting. Just by doing this you would be amazed on how many Japanese girls you could pick up. When I say Japanese, I mean those on vacation from Japan, not local girls.
You should also keep in mind that Japan is not a Judeo-Christian country, so most girls don't have the hangups about sex like those in the USA or Europe.
If you cruise through Waikiki, Ala Moana, or any other place where there are a number of Japanese females you would be surprised on how many are agreeable to a night of fun. Just dress nice, act like a gentleman, and listen to them and you should have no problem.
As for the language barrier, if you know a little Japanese it should be enough to get your foot in the door. Many Japanese know at least some English as it is a required course in high school, and colleges in Japan.
By investing a little time and effort, this should give you a great GFE with a Japanese female for less than you would drop an AMP.

Recently I've been successful at nampa at Wal-Mart Keeamoku. I know it sound kind of strange, but keep reading.
I notice that there are times when the table outside of Starbucks really fill up and it is kind of hard to find a spot to sit. Had a great dinner at Hiroshi - Eurasian Tapas. Definitely the highlight of the evening.
Then decided to see what was happening since I was last in Honolulu (1.5 years ago).

I just look for freeware that deletes all history of where I've been. I've been using CCleaner most recently and it deletes history, temp files, cookies, and I have my autocomplete turned off. CCleaner (stands for "crap cleaner") cleans up recent documents, last download location, the "Run" in the start menu, Chkdsk file fragments, etc.
Some guys forget and use the favorites feature to save the site urls and favorites can be accessed using "My Documents" or Windows Explorer (DUH! !)
CCleaner and never using the "remember me" or automatic sign-in feature some sites provide is the best way I can think of to clean up my tracks other than formatting my drive or using a program that re-writes to all sectors of the hard drives.
Remember unless you over-write all sectors of your hard drive, or degauss your hard drive, there are utility programs that can reconstruct file information.
I know these things because I was an EDP manager in a previous life and my SO is a nework administrator.

I believe if you are using the AOL favorites they are in a file in the AOL directory on your hard drive. I believe they are combined with saved emails in your AOL file cabinet.
I'm not positive about this but when I've deleted the AOL directory and reinstalled AOL, the favorites and file cabinet items are gone. I'm not sure about this because I don't use AOL at home anymore but I use another computer at a friends house and help him when he has problems.

Not to argue with you but I don't use any profile feature that is stored on my pc.
Under c:/Documents and Settings/User/Cookies History Temp and Temporary Internet Files are all cleared out when I use CCleaner. I check these directories occasionally to be sure.
Also, if you try doing a search for htm and html files, all Favorites for everybody that uses the pc will show up but if you don't keep any sites in Favorites and your History, Temp, and Temporary Internet Files are clean, nothing will show using a search of the files on the hard drives. Besides, the items that are kept in those directories are not htm or html files.
Keystroke logger are not that hard to detect and delete.
Finally, what my SO knows about computers and network security is discussed with me and I periodically check her network for her for holes and tracks.
Anywho, if you want to continue this discussion, take this out of "2005 General Reports" and start a new thread on the subject.

If you are really concerned about leaving traces on a computer you could try a bootable CD containing the Linux operating system Knoppix. There are other varieties of Linux that will do the same thing.
Anyway created a bootable CD with a browser that doesn't load onto the hard drive. The computer will use its existing ram as drive space as needed. You can browse and do almost anything on the computer except to save items.
When done just turn off the computer and everything will disappear when the ram loses power.
You could also do this trick with a USB drive, but that will leave a trail on the USB drive that can be found later.

A police raid of a "massage" business on Ward Avenue has led to a major felony prosecution featuring the rare use of warrants to arrest witnesses and a glimpse into what authorities suspect is a front for prostitution activities.
The Aug. 23 raid by police and immigration agents resulted in the arrest of three women at the business commonly referred to as "350 Relaxation" in Suite 115 in the back of the two-story building at 350 Ward Ave.
But as investigators developed the case, they arrested nine women in early September who authorities say admitted to working as prostitutes and held them as "material" witnesses at the federal detention center to get their cooperation in the prosecution.
The warrants were dropped several days later against two of the women, and six others were released on condition they reside at the YWCA Fernhurst Women's Residence at government expense to ensure they were available as prosecution witnesses. The ninth was released to a Buddhist church, but later joined the others at the YWCA.
Last week, a federal grand jury indicted Wan Yo Kang, also known as "Hannah," identified as the owner, on 11 felony charges of interstate promotion of prostitution, enticing women to travel here for prostitution activity and harboring two women, illegal aliens, at the business' suite.
The prosecution against Kang is considered rare because of the difficulty of proving an owner had direct knowledge of the criminal activity.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Marshall Silverberg declined to comment on the case, but recently unsealed court documents and previous court hearings indicate Kang's indictment is at least partly based on the assistance of the women arrested on the warrants. The indictment accuses Kang of enticing the women to travel interstate to engage in prostitution and harboring two of them.
Federal law authorizes prosecutors to obtain the "material witness" warrants that must be approved by a judge if the person can provide testimony "material" to a criminal proceeding. The witness can be detained or released on conditions that would ensure he or she will be available to testify or be questioned under oath at a deposition.
Use of the warrants on the Mainland, in connection with terrorism cases, has been controversial. Civil-rights groups have raised concerns that it has been used to detain people when there's not enough evidence to charge them with crimes.
In Hawai'i, the warrants have been used in cases involving witnesses who are not U.S. citizens. Most notably, it was used in the case involving a cook accused of murdering the captain and the first mate aboard a Taiwanese fishing boat on the high seas in 2002. The ship was brought to Hawai'i and warrants were issued to ensure the crew members remained here and were available to provide testimony for the prosecution.
Federal Public Defender Peter Wolff, whose office is not involved in the Kang case, said he doesn't think the use of the warrants here raises the same issues as controversial ones on the Mainland. "I think in this case, it is valid," he said.
In requesting warrants for the nine women in Wang's case, the prosecution said they were either foreign citizens (Korean nationals) or here illegally and might flee if not arrested.
On Sept. 7, about five days after their arrest, the nine appeared before a federal magistrate in their blue prison attire and accompanied by Korean language interpreters for one of several hearings on their status in the case. Because they were indigent, the court appointed lawyers to represent them.
Silverberg dropped the warrants against two women at that initial hearing. Six others were released from the federal detention center on condition that they stay at the YWCA Fernhurst. The amount the federal pretrial services pay for the women is considered confidential, but the YWCA Fernhurst rate for women who can't afford to pay is $28 a day, which includes two meals.
The warrants were later dropped against three others, leaving four still ordered to reside at the YWCA. The other five were released, but faced immigration deportation proceedings.
Kang's business is one of an estimated 40 to 50 "relaxation parlors" — offshoots of massage parlors in the early 1990s — according to Honolulu Police Lt. Walter Ozeki. They are generally located between University and Ward avenues, he said.
Ozeki said they are not regulated and are different from legitimate massage therapy operations, which are part of a licensed industry and subject to state regulations. "Our experience has shown that relaxation parlors are frequently involved in prostitution," he said.
The amount of business for the parlors is difficult to determine, Ozeki said. "But I would imagine it's considerable," he said.
As a result of raids, police generally make arrests on prostitution charges, which are petty misdemeanors, he said.
The hearings produced one surprise for the prosecution when at least one of the woman protested the dismissal of the warrant, which would have meant the end of government funding for her stay at the YWCA.
Silverberg said he thought the woman would be pleased to have the warrant dropped, but her lawyer, Louis Ching, said the dismissal and release from the YWCA would place his client in a "bad position" without money or a place to stay. "I don't want her to be homeless at this point," he said.
Ching later said his client also wanted to remain in the country.
Silverberg later met with the woman and Ching, but an agreement could not be worked out and the warrant was dropped.
Honolulu lawyer Pamela Tamashiro represented one of the other women who was released. Tamashiro said a $35 membership fee had to be paid on behalf of the women to stay at the YWCA.
"They're YWCA members for a year," Tamashiro said.
Her client had planned to voluntarily go back to South Korea, she said.
Federal prosecutors plan to question the four remaining witnesses under oath this month to preserve their testimony for trial and pave the way for the dismissal of the warrants.

The owner of a Ward Avenue business purporting to be a massage establishment put out the word that prostitutes could make $700 to $800 a day if they were "very pretty," and $300 to $500 a day if they weren't, according to an affidavit by a federal agent.
Wan Yo Kang, 37, also known as "Hannah," also told two Los Angeles women they could make $15,000 to $20,000 a month, the document said.
Kang was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on 11 felony counts of traveling across state lines to promote or manage prostitution activity in February 2005, enticing women to travel interstate to engage in prostitution and harboring two immigrants here illegally at her business, 350 Ward Ave., suite 115.
The charges each carry maximum prison terms of five or 20 years in prison.
The indictment returned last week came after federal prosecutors arrested nine women on rarely-used material witness warrants in connection with the case.
All nine, including two who were "enticed" to travel here from Los Angeles, admitted they engaged in sex for pay, according to the affidavit by Byron Tanaka, special agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Kang urged the Los Angeles women to tell their Los Angeles prostitute friends about the money they could make, the affidavit said.
The affidavit said customers paid $40 to $50 for a massage at Kang's business known as "350 Relaxation," then were charged typically $100 or $150 for sex.
The nine women paid Wang $500 a week from their prostitution earnings for rent and food, the affidavit said.
Kang had been living in Honolulu, but moved to Los Angeles after the police raid at her business on Aug. 23, federal prosecutors said in court papers.
She turned herself in to Los Angeles authorities on Oct. 3. Despite the prosecution's request here to hold her without bail, Kang was released on bond, but will be under electronic monitoring.
Her arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 24.
Her lawyer, Gary Laff of Los Angeles, did not return calls for comment.

Maybe they should look into the nationwide artificial manipulation of oil prices, and who is profiting by it. Maybe they should look into why even though it is now much harder to file for bankruptcy and escape from credit card debt, the credit card companies have not lowered their exorbitant interest rates--Isn't their risk factor much lower now? Going after AMPs should be a very low priority.

I agree with almost everything you said. However, it seems to me that there's a more fundamental issue that I've rarely seen anyone address: Why do local, state, and Federal governments have the authority to regulate the private, consensual, sexual conduct of adults in the first place? I've long believed that in this regard, government at all levels is exercising authority it never should have had.
Most of us will agree that there should be laws against coercing people into becoming sex workers. But there's no indication that anyone in this particular incident was coerced in any way. So on what basis do governments legislate sexual conduct?
Nearly all laws and ordinances relating to prostitution, pornography, conduct inside strip clubs, etc., have as their foundation the moral views of certain religions. Isn't using the machinery of government to impose religious views on the general population a violation of the First Amendment's Establishment Clause? Eventually, I suspect that someone will succeed in making that argument in court and all such laws will be struck down as unconstitutional, just as the anti-sodomy laws were a few years ago, and largely on the same legal grounds. But that will probably take several more years. Until then, we're all the victims of over-reaching governments trying to legislate morality. It's unfortunate that when our elected officials passed all of these laws long ago, no one had the courage to stand up and say "now wait just a damned minute..."

First of all, Hannah is definitely not the victim, she is the most guilty out of eveyone involved. She recruits these young ladies across state lines, a felony offense. She traffics these girls out of Korea, in many instances, she harbors illegal aliens. She charges the girls $2,000 a month for room and board ($2000!). She takes $50 for each person who walks in the door. She most likely takes a percentage of their tip money as well. She definitely does not pay income tax. It may be that she makes between $50,000 - $100,00 a month!!! She preys on these girls who are from foreign countries and can't make it on their own. These girls want a better life and they can only come to the US by being "soap girls". Their strict Korean culture basically dictates they do what these owners tell them and believe me, the owner takes full advantage of this. Yes, everybody is totally blinded by the pursuit of money, mostly the girls just want to leave Korea and live in the US for a better life. They come here from far away and throw their life and dignity into the hands of self absobed fellow countrymen. The psychological effects never leave them. On the outside, they give off a pleasant, cheerful demeaner. They've been directed to do this for business sense. On the inside, these young ladies become easily depressed and often turn to drugs and alcohol to relieve their pain. Their ability to develop meaningful relationships with men are virtally non existent, severly crippling their chances to have a successful marriage, and children. I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the message. It's true we want to think this is a victimless crime but it's simply not true. Men can visit these "establishments" and walk away feeling happy and satisfied. We don't get "it" because we don't think about "it", we don't see "it", and mostly we don't really care. We don't feel the guilt, the shame, the humiliation that these girls do. There is a movie about this type of life, produced and directed by a Korean woman who has been through this type of life as a hostess, then an owner, all in Hawaii. Finally, I know you think the LE has something better to do than bust a woman such as "Hannah" but they're only during their jobs, they're only trying to protect these girls and the citizens from these owners who don't care at all. Trust me, I don't expect Hannah to ever appear in court for sentencing, she's being electronically monitored but she's bound to flee the country. You see, now that they have her in their grasp, she's just going to spend a little chunk of her wealth that she's made off these girls and guys and sneak back to Korea. There are plenty of other Hannahs to take her place.
Unless it has changed, the girls don't get to keep all of the tip money they receive. They have to give the house a percentage of the tips too. The percentage depends on the house and the girl.

OGI thought that the house got the entrance fee and money for rent / food / supplies but I never realized they got a cut of the action. I mean I knew that say the brothels in Nevada operated like that but I always assumed the AMP workers kept whatever tips they got. Pays to be the owner.

Victim or not is anyone's opinion. Hannah knew the risks but as in any business, the higher the risks the greater the payoff and the greater the penalty. I know the LE has to do these raids every so often to show good faith effort. They know its impossible to eradicate the business. I agree that they should spend more time catching the real bad guys like the drug dealers and the career thieves. But LE is shorthanded--they can't even set up speed traps in my neighborhood because they tell me they don't have the manpower. Now we read in the Advertiser where they can't even solve 80% of their cases. Hitting the AMPs is an easy slam dunk bust and it draws people's attention away from the fact that they can't solve the bigger stuff. Public reads that they are doing their job and are happy for a while until their car gets stolen by the same guy who stole 100 cars and is still on the street. Courts gotta get their act together too. IMO, like Hannah, these career crooks know the risks--if they get thrown in a crowded jail with 10 other mokes so be it and let the ACLU screem all they want--high risk--high payoff or high penalty. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with you on the lack of coercion and the willingness of the providers to enter into and remain in the business. I've been mongering for close to 30 years now and have gotten to know a number of providers all over the country. The only providers I've met who were coerced were streetwalkers, and even those weren't a majority.
As for the consequences of getting arrested, no one can argue with you there either, however, don't blame the cops. Blame the legislators who pass the prostitution/pornography laws. The cops are only doing what they're told to do: enforce the laws as written. Cops don't make the laws they enforce - the city council, state legislature, and congress do.
Now, is there some selective enforcement of the law? Certainly. Are there cops who "partake" of the services and then turn around and bust the providers? Occasionally, but if that comes out in court, the cop DOES get in trouble and the department gets an unwanted black-eye, and the case is jeopardized. It happens, but not as often as some might believe. And when it does happen, I'm just as appalled as you are.
I've known a lot of the guys (and gals) behind the badge over the years too. Most of the ones I've known would rather be doing anything but busting sex workers, but they do what they're told to do. But then, I've mostly known the patrol guys, not those in the Vice Division. Some of the Vice guys I've met tended to be zealots.
I'd prefer that the police focus more on violent crime and property crime too, but their priorities are largely set by politicians for political reasons, not by the rank and file officers themselves.

Did you read the article in the November 1st Honolulu Advertiser about Representative Galen Fox being convicted in L.A. for fondling a sleeping female passenger seated next to him on an airplane? On the one hand, some women scream rape if you accidentally bump against them in a crowded bus. On the other hand, the man was convicted which would lead one to believe that he did do something inappropriate. After all, we are talking about Southern California which lets people like OJ get away with murder. Fox is a prominent citizen, so you would think that they would have cut him some slack if the charges were unfounded.
At least Fox had the decency to resign from office--I do give him credit for that. I know a former U.S. President who didn't even have that much class (yes, that President's actions weren't illegal--just stupid).
The article ends by mentioning former Representative Brian Blundell who was accused of sexually assaulting an undercover police officer at a Kapiolani Park restroom last year.
I can't help thinking that if these men could have gotten a good full-contact lap dance or had been able to freely visit an AMP, they might have been able to control their sexual urges and not attacked innocent women. Visiting women at a SC or a MP or an AMP might have satisfied their lusts sufficiently that they could have functioned as productive members of society.
The situation is so hypocritical.
