Golden rule, once you part with your cash, it's game over. Never pay up front. Your little head gave her 20 minutes. Hope is a wonderful thing. I would have done the same. Sometimes they can be real pushy and convincing about getting the money first. I would not have gone inside. Most likely, there were other people in the house.
