By who, when, and where?

The citation that "article" provides does not substantiate what it claims to. It's a journal article that does not make one single mention of HIV nor does it mention anything about "targeting" T cells. Does it infect T-cells? Yes. This is not the same behavior as explicitly targeting them which is what HIV explicitly does (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3543107/).

However, it is unclear whether SARS-CoV-2 can also infect T cells, resulting in lymphocytopenia.

That was the entire hypothesis. Also, for it to have been "Like HIV", it would have to use the infected T-Cell to replicate itself.

I'm sorry to admit that I disagree with your premise. I'm older, overweight, and bald. Physically, I am repulsed by myself. I was once refused by an agency escort when I entered the room. Even if they're performing some disgusting act for me (I have a disability: I broke my morals as a child), I try to remember that they're still people. Some of them are transactional and will rip me off if they get a chance. Others seem genuinely concerned about making me happy. That may be just for repeat business but sometimes it seems that they are just decent people in a shitty position.

Although I'm truly exploiting them, I can still recognize their humanity and try not to be a dick to them on top of it. That may be why some wish them happy birthday, your hair looks nice (with Vegawrap's jizz in it), or whatever might make them smile. After all, they're still girls and girls like that shit.
