REPEATING: You do NOT need a Passport to return to the USA (assuming you are an American) however you do need your Birth Certificate. Even if you left your Birth Certificate, they will still let you enter BUT you may get a hassle.

Since I go to Mexico on a regular basis, they let me enter without my documents (but with my Drivers License) because the computer data base knew about my Crossings.

I've never heard of this place. Where (and when) was it?

I'll be in McAllen for the first time this week for work. Crossing the border isn't an option for me. I've read the forum, but there's a chance the info might be a little out of date. I plan to go to the TexMex Lounge and BBR but I wanted more info on the cost so I don't overpay. Outside of paying for parking and getting in the door, how does it break down? Is the charge to get into VIP separate? I guess I'm asking for the total average damage and how it is broken up.
