I ran across this in the court reports in the Galesburg newspaper:

Charges against the following people were not prosecuted: Tina M. Ludwig, 40, 679 E. Main St., possession controlled substance and prostitution, insufficient evidence; .....

No one else was listed as being prosecuted on prostitution charges. Wondering if this was some type of fluke or if there is action in town that is not being reported on here? I go to Galesburg a few times a year but never thought to look for anything there. Plus I would have no clue exactly where to look.

Several years ago there was an article in the Peoria paper abput 6 women getting arrested in Galesburg for prostitution. I personally have never seen any activity up that way, but I have only rarely been in that town.

"Let's see, then I went to Chicago for a two-month evaluation before I was shipped - by van - to Oklahoma City. After that I rode, I'm not kidding, 'Con Air' to Texas. They put us on a plane and we were in shackles. In Texas, I did nine months of an 18-month sentence."

The blonde with pale blue eyes exhaled. "I found God when I was in prison. That saved me. I read the Bible every day and I worked out in my little cell four times a day. God put me in prison so I could look at my life and deal with my life."

"And I go to church every Sunday. But I do that at night, because I get home so late Saturday night."

Gulfport is right across the river from Burlington Iowa, there are some reports about it in the Burlington forum. Not a lot, I know I made a few. It is a bunch of houses, a couple liquor stores (no bottle deposit!) and about 4 or 5 bars most at some point have strippers at them. There is a dead end road that parelles the highway that most of them are on. Been there a few times. It is a pain to get to from everywhere in IL but there is now a four lane from Iowa City to Mt Pleasant to Burlington, I think it is almost done from Des Moines, bbut not sure. There is like an exit off the freeway for Gulfport when you come from Iowa first thing fromthe bridge, then the road ges to 2 lane for about 30 miles to Monmouth. It is just shy of an hour drive west of Galesburg. Oh all but one of the strip clubs are closed on Sundays, the one that is not has a live band. I never got lucky at any of them, altough a SW I picked up in Davneport onec told me she was a dancer in Gulfport.

Never recalled there being a Galesburg section and it looks from the number of reports that no one gets lucky there ever.
