To follow up, be careful and look up the address on the county auditor site. Takes a few minutes, and might save your ass. These stings have been done in homes that are owned by the county or municipal land bank. The auditor site will tell you who owns it and usually shows the property transaction history.

That is not to say they do not use them at times, for example the Hilliard sting ad in Columbus through much research on this topic did use ads with the disclaimers. But if you watch the news on those, the guys had to reach an agreement in the room before the bust occurred. But I strongly speculate that the difference between having that disclaimer on there or not is the difference between the type of sting where an agreement needs to be reached, vs where there are just a bunch of cops in the room and they bust you immediately. Some municipalities just want to make as many arrests as possible even if they know half the guys who didn't say anything incriminating will get the case dismissed, it looks good for funding. I guarantee you Akron uses the ads without the disclaimer because in the last busts in Feb. And at the end of April some of the guys have already had their case dismissed and there was one of them that was arrested 20 miles away in Cuyahoga county by Akron PD. My speculation is that the guy got there or drove by and left, they got his plate, and decided that it was sufficient to go track him down by plate. I'm not an attorney obviously and can't say for sure, but this is based off alot of research on case search sites and watching the news when these wrongful busts occur.
