On the other hand, it may have been because of unreliability by the provider. According to the customer's report, after the first session the provider sent an e-mail confirming the customer's next appointment, but the provider then failed to respond when the customer arrived for the appointment (wasting the customer's round-trip travel time plus the twenty minutes that the customer waited for her). The customer reports that he then "rebooked for that Saturday evening," but again received no response when he called to reconfirm the second appointment before driving to the other side of the island.

Assuming for the sake of discussion that the provider didn't want to see the customer because he refrained from showering before the first session, the provider shouldn't have accepted two subsequent appointments with the customer. The provider either could have politely informed the customer that a shower was required, or made a convenient excuse not to accept the two subsequent appointments.
