We spend a lot time and money chasing it. They spend what we pay rarely on rent or food. On our part, the game may not be a total addiction, just an occasional pastime, an itch that needs to be scratched. Sometimes not. In my youth I would say I had no self control. I try to be realistic about the philosophy / morality of this pastime. I've met women of all stripes out there. An accountant, a nurse, professionals, people who by the roll of dice happen to be addicts. Way back I used to run into women who just liked the thrill of doing this, sex addicts. Nowadays, it's mostly women who just happen to be drug addicts, some might be trashy or ignorant without being addicts, and some who just happen to be addicts. None who do this for fun. Not going to stop doing this, just sayin, taking someone in as a social worker project is not healthy.

I wouldn't make a move though unless she had a stiff piece of cardboard and the ink was freshly put on the sign. I once saw a very attractive woman on the east side with a sign that said, "Husband just left – a kid at home – no job – help!" I came 'this close' to inviting her to live with me. On the other hand, professional sign holders will have beat up / creased, thrashed old ass signs that appear months or even years old. I won't waste my time with these con artists.

This was the scene at NE Hassalo and 82 at about 7:50 this evening. I have very few rules; but one of my pet peeves is when a potential passenger is attempting to hail a cab with a shitload of open food in their arms. Can you imagine the mess all this chow would make in your vehicle?

This may look bad, but I've seen much worse. A few weeks ago I saw a working girl walking near Fremont with a carry-on rolling Samsonite suitcase, backpack, duffel bag, and a gallon jug of chocolate milk. Unfortunately I did not have my camera; otherwise I would have taken a photo. I believe she goes by the name of Kelly if I am not mistaken.

82 and Klickitat today at 3:00 PM. She has been around Portland for at least 2 decades.

Was picking up something at Fred Meters and on the way out of the parking lot. I got the eye from a girl. She looked like your typical crack girl so I did not partake. But you never know what and where you will rind anything.

I am trying a new route for some novice girls. I will let you all know how it works out. Did not have time yesterday but might today. I found a girl who for a small Fenders fee said she would set me up with lots of needy girls. She seems to know lots of them.

This woman gives new meaning to the term "concave jaw." I have seen this woman walking the same route on the strolls but no one ever seems to pick her up. This was the scene yesterday (9/16) between 5:30 and 6:20 at 82 and Knapp; this photo series encompassed a time lapse of about an hour. During this time she never went further north than the Asian Store, not further south than Knapp Street. Due to the lack of progressive travel, I was awaiting some sort of undercover activity but no soul tried to pick up this potential passenger. I couldn't tell if there was an undercover officer observing from the white SUV in the background, unrelated, or if that vehicle is always just parked there. Sort of a strange scene; however, with the shooting investigation afoot at the Plaid Panties, I doubt the resources existed to run a sting simultaneously. This potential passenger certainly gave all the body language indicating that she was trying to hail a cab.

On a side note, I was out in this same area about 4 nights ago and saw what looked like a 80-90 year old woman working the streets near the Checkered Flag Bar on Flavel. Geeez! Seriously? It was way too dark outside for a good photo and even if I could successfully shoot a good photo; I don't have the heart.

This duo would walk together, separate, then collaborate a few minutes later just to walk down the street 100 feet, smoke a cigarette, separate, and come back the way they came.

The woman in the dark hair would make eye contact with vehicles and make goofy fuck faces at people who didn't bolt to try to pick her up.

This woman has been around for years; her name escapes me. She will spit shine your vehicle for around 30, but will ask for 40. Supposedly she will take your vehicle back to her place and give it a full tune up for around 100. I am guessing that is negotiable.

Normally I have seen her on 82 between the 7-11 (on Powell) and Division. However, lately she hangs out near the oriental strip mall around the corner.
