They have put up street cameras on Wendell. Two on Wendell at MLK and at FIB. One on Wendell by Fulton Inn, and one on Interchange Dr loop by the office complexes.

BIG industrial park nearby so the gas stations won't go anywhere. Those legit businesses over there create far too much tax revenue for the city to cut that out. Truck drivers in that park also create the need for cheap but decent lodging nearby. Especially since truck stops in the ATL are very limited. I could see the city closing down establishments that won't take steps to clear out the riffraff. Easy for them to do through code adoption. Then they can sell off to whomever they want to and vet buyers carefully. I've expected that for years since the exit is only one ext away from 6 Flags. If it does rebuild, expect to still be hotels but more oriented to travelers and legit overnighters.

As for drug dealers they don't worry too much about them getting killed either. FIB isn't a good neighborhood, for the police it's a thorn in their side, so everyone killed is one less they have to worry about being on the street.

There is also a good chance those aren't even real camera's, they are props used as a deterrent. I used to be friends with a Gwinnet deputy who told me about a series of fake camera's they put up in area's they didn't want people hanging out, and it worked at least by their perspective.

If a crime or murder happens on Fib LE still has to do there job solving the crime.
