Ave X Showing a Message - Upgrade, etc
Whatever the problem, it looks like website issue, not a legal one.
I was a little worried about them. Glad I had nothing to worry about.
avenue-x.com is just moving. Move along, nothing to see here.
The Ave is hosted in another country, so I don't think it's too likely that it's down due to a bust in Henrico.
Notice that loading the site gives an error message from CloudFlare. CloudFare is a paid service that acts as a shield against DDoS attacks. I'm guessing that they signed up for that after those attacks took the site down six weeks or so ago. I'm thinking the people who were behind the DDoS attack found a new way to take the site down. I can't imagine why anyone would be trying so hard to interrupt that site, though.
As for the Henrico site, the arrest reports are still showing name and address for me up, up through the newest ones from 5/2/14. Maybe you're looking at the ICR's? I don't think the ICR's ever have.
I can imagine some really bible belt folks trying to attack them but never met any that would want to attack their website that had to the skills to do so. Often these DDOS attacks are not based on the content of the site or data the site host but simply an extortion attempt. These overseas DDOS attacks are perpetrated by bot nets with the hopes that the website owners will pay them a fee to go away. What has been great is the very heart bleed vulnerability the hackers are interested in exploiting has allowed me to gain access to their blogs and see all of their plans, discussions and attack vectors. I have not seen any conversations around attacking Ave-x. I believe they are merely moving to another hosting provider. Hackers should be warned that for once the tables are turned and those of us in the security community have the upper had for now. .
