I'm sure they would appreciate any acknowledgement from someone who's not Chinese. While people give red envelopes to everyone these days, it was kinda originally for children. So I wouldn't do tips in a red envelope. Like I said, just wish them Happy New Year, maybe give them an extra 10 and say it's for Chinese New Year if you want.
