When the solicitors greeted the officers, they were arrested, after which sheriff’s officials took over their online operation and posed as the prostitute in order to arrest johns.

The Monday-Thursday sting resulted in 10 citations for accosting and soliciting; three citations for offering to engage; four citations for aiding and abetting; one citation for receiving and admitting, and four citations for loitering on private property.[/quote]

Budget cuts.

All public services are looking at funding and personnel cuts. The Cook County sheriff’s department can plus up their arrest numbers and make it look like they are doing something and are essential by making prostitution arrests that are targeting women on the edge financially and their clients who know they are breaking the law. They bend any and all evidentiary and due process rules to make an arrest.

Worst case for them, the cases get thrown out of court and the already stressed tax payers assume the court costs. Or eventually some cop who was on the bubble anyway gets moved up the list to be laid off. Do you think Tom Dart cares if he looses a few of his least effective officers in order to save his best crusaders?

If the right wing moral majority really cared about people in general they would support health care reform and taxation and treatment for those addicted to vices instead of putting more people in the crime university that is our penal system.

After mongering for many years I must admit that I have only met a handful of Women who love their work. Most view it as a means to overcome a lack of education, poor language skills or few real talents. Does that make them criminals or just practical?

If they do a 4 day sting operation and bust about 22-33 people, that is a tidy sum of money for not doing too much work.

It is like Past Tense says. It is a money issue. That is all it is. Wayne county in MI did not care less about busting prostitutes and Johns. Since the economy has started to go south. They are all suddenly very interested in both:

1 Making money for the Sheriffs office

2 Showing some politicians who are screaming to cut costs in the PD. That crime has just gone up (look at the new busts we are making). How do you expect us to pull officers off the road. We need more officers right now.

Hi guys,

I'm a pretty young guy looking to get into the hobby. Obviously I've done my fair share of lurking and don't expect help in regards to specific providers. I do need some general advice. I've flipped through a few months worth of pages in this thread and don't feel my question to be answered.
