Being bumped or bait and switched
What's worst, to have the shop / mama bump your appointment because they took another customer before you or they take you but bait and switch? Both are greedy tactics that many of us have dealt with one time or another. I say bait and switch because they had no intention of honoring your request with a specific provider you asked for. Being bumped is horrible too but I get it that sometimes they deal with a lot of no shows. If the time is approaching for your appointment and you still aren't there and another cash waving monger comes along that's when their greedy intuitions kick in.
Courtesy is a two-way street. . .
I have a different view on this. I don't blame the mongers but the unethical greedy places. Tell me how you can steal my appointment if you don't know what name to give them? If they don't ask for a name then how do they know who has the appointment? . . .
I have had my appointment usurped more than a few times but it seems to me that guys who "no show, no cancel" for their app'ts are the real cause of this problem. "First come, first served" should be the expected norm during busy hours. Remember, this business is about making money. Solution: 1) come a few minutes early for your app't, 2) call to cancel your app't when necessary, 3) become a regular customer and 4) treat the workers well. Practice common courtesy and expect to be treated the same.
Being shorted Time any remedies
I have been recently getting shorted for time. 30 minutes vs 45 minutes. Are there any effective remedies for this. At the last one I looked at my watch and told the girl it was only 30 minutes as I left the room. She shrugged her shoulders when I said this.
Felt like a fool for already laying down $$.
