PSA: It Really Likes Warm Moist Places!
Thrush is not classed as a sexually transmitted infection / disease (STI / STD), but it can be triggered by sex and sometimes passed on through sex. Thrush is caused by a fungus called candida that is normally harmless. Better known as a yeast infection, it is easy to spot in the most common area of occurrence. Oral thrush, on the other hand, is more difficult to spot. Symptoms appear on the tongue, cheeks, gums, and occasionally in the corners of the lips. Even though the candida albicans fungus is present on and in our bodies poor health and hygiene can cause it to flare up. A word to the wise if you are seeking some stress relief from a local mouth, use wet wipes to clean up and apply Lotrimin or Tea Tree Oil to help prevent and / or cure an itchy, red head!
