I have tried just handing over the 160 tip and sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I always keep a 20 in my pocket for situations where I get called out by the provider. It has worked 100% of the time so far. I get called out about 25% of the time.

I agree that haggling is a recipe for a bad time and try to avoid it as much as possible.

If I did pay what she requested is that a guarantee I will get the time I paid for? I just call it the way I see it.

The price was extremely reasonably priced and they did a great job. Zero hints of anything extra.

L1 is cheaper and the same end result; however, the journey getting there is vastly different!! Regarding the VM discussion, I haven't been to VM since the original Kiki was there and they got popular. My approach is to give the girl 240 all up front and say "this is for everything". Almost 100% of the time they take it with a smile and provide great service. Once in awhile they ask for 280, I simply shrug and apologize, sorry baby it was 240 last time, only bring 240 etc. Again almost 100% of the time they take the 240 with a smile and the boom boom is great. I can count on one hand, how many times I've dropped 200 + house. The only variance from the 240 all at once is when the mamasan or the girls collects the house fee at the lobby door; then I had the girl 160 for "everything."

All that said, I do carry in some extra cash, in different pockets, for upgrades or the rare rare occasion the girl won't budge off 200 for boom boom. Last, I don't sweat the time as much as the experience, unless I get extremely shorted like 20-30 minutes when I paid the hour house fee. I say it's all relative to the overall experience.

Obviously no one wants to pay more than necessary. I hate it as much as anyone, but there comes a time when you have to use your head (in this case head = brain!) and decide the best choice in the given situation. I prefer an hour and like many here I hand over the entire customary rate at the beginning of the session. It's either accepted without comment, or occasionally further negotiations ensue. I typically try to hold my ground but honestly sometimes I'll bite the bullet and give a bit more. When that happens I make sure to reference the "full hour" or perhaps I emphasize a particular "kink" that needs to be worked out. I feel like this gives us both a way to get what we're looking for.

FWIW, the price at local 1st tier spas has been essentially the same for at least 10 years now. Again, it always sucks (not in a good way) to pay more, however speaking for myself I'd be more than a little pissed off if I hadn't has a raise in over a decade. Just saying. . . Also, as an alternative we all know places around where you can pay less and as a rule quality and service suffer too. Finally, as always, I'm compelled to say what a pain in the ass it is that we don't have a single Asian agency in the Tampa Bay area. There's a bunch of reasons (I've mentioned in the past) I generally prefer agencies over AMPs. One big reason is no haggling. You know the upfront price for the services requested at the time you book the appointment. WTF TB?

Sorry, one last thing occurred to me. IMO from the moment VM changed to their current business model, and irrespective of the price you pay, the only thing you can depend on is inconsistency.

1. SL: 60 plus 160.

2. VM: 60 plus 160.

3. PT: 60 plus 140.

Number 1 and 2 are Chinese joints and will occasionally ask for an extra 40. On the other hand, they occasionally will accept 20 less.

PT and Palace seem to be the more civilized establishments with most Mongers making appointments and very few walk-ins. So the pace of action there is very predictable. VM seems to be like the wild west. . . Very few appointments and a lot of walk=ins. When their is a surge in Mongers walking in the providers start shorting customers of time in an effort to make as much coin as possible. From reading the forum this is more the norm than the exception at VM.

I read at least a couple of Mongers a week complaining that they were shorted at VM and I am sure there are more. Would be nice if VM went to the appointment only model. I always make an appointment, but I am doubtful that sunlight takes them seriously. It seems that every time I show up the provider with whom I made the appointment is unaware, but thankfully is available. That is how I met Victoria and Jasmine for an epic double. I had an appointment with Jasmine and I was initially serviced by Victoria who I thought was Jasmine.
