Verbiage doesn't really matter
Deac makes a good point. I usually ask, "How many roses in an hour bouquet"?
Hope this helps, Ace.
From a legal standpoint whether you discuss cash or roses or anything other manner of payment it is all the same in the eyes of Uncle LEO.
Verbage doesn't matter. Except when it does.
From a legal standpoint whether you discuss cash or roses or anything other manner of payment it is all the same in the eyes of Uncle LEO.
Yes, and no. If you're acknowledging an exchange of good for services, then it doesn't really matter what the goods are if the services are sex. When the ad you're responding to is advertising sex then you're already on perilous ground and if Uncle LEO wants to bust you, he's probably not going to be deterred by something like roses. That's why the term donation is typically used as it doesn't imply an exchange of goods for services. It's still far from bulletproof as far as legal defenses go, but some of these girls who are legitimately trying to stay out of jail take the "better safe than sorry" approach. And while it might not make much difference for you and your legal defense (mongers are rarely prosecuted anyway) it can make a big difference for the girls. If Uncle LEO is trying to bust them, he's almost certainly going to insist on very specific, very incriminating language. So sticking with the "donation" terminology is usually enough to deter pesky uncles since they know that DAd probably won't prosecute. Keep in mind that they care very little about prostitution in general. They're much more concerned with drugs and human trafficking. Prostitution charges are simply a means to an end for Uncle LEO.
Personally, I'm more comfortable with a gal that's clearly trying to stay out of jail, and is at least making an attempt to keep herself and, by proxy, her clientele safe.
Also, a little birdie told me that the particular lady that sparked this conversation had in fact been visited by uncle LEO prior to your exchange (to no avail) and she just wasn't taking any chances. There's a little more to it than that, but suffice it to say, some of these gals are just trying to be careful.
