Common (good and bad) practices.
The other day I was trying to set up a meet and the girl wanted me to send her a pic. I suppose it's some sort of verification. Is this a common practice and if so why?
It's a form of screening. It can be legit. E. G. I want to make sure the pic matches the guy who shows up at my place before I open the door. Or it can be a bogus pic collection scam. It could also compromise your safety if you're talking to your Uncle (because now he can verify that the pic matches when you knock on his door). As with anything else, be safe! I will never give a pic without getting one in return and I only ever do face pics. I also generally make sure when I'm first communicating for the first time to be crystal clear that we're only meeting to get to know each other and that any $ that's exchanged is because her time is valuable, nothing more.
