Just to unfurl the scam. Naturally, they ask for the deposit once I "arrive" at the hotel.

Never, ever, ever prepay. And to avoid wasting your time, try to discern ads that are likely going to ask for deposit. They mention CashApp and so forth.

It's entirely possible there are real providers who have such sterling reputations that they are in a position to demand a deposit, as a way of ensuring their time is not wasted. I have zero experience with that. And generally don't care to invest time pursuing them. To me, the scammers have ruined the deposit as a valid option. And the supposedly legit girls actually are part of the problem of giving cover to this scam. Is one way of looking at it.
