Strip Club Reports

I haven't been there in a week so this may be slightly out of date. Maybe some other stuff is gone but nothing that I noticed. Some of the businesses were cleaned and painted after the smoke damage. A couple of long term block managers told me that some of the businesses lost enough income that they are having serious financial problems.

I'd be interested in hearing a report from Diving Horse (old Stage Door location). I went there only once and they had 4 really hot girls. Suburban types, not ghetto. The bartender told me of plans for new restaurants on the block and maybe some other expansion. But that was before the fire. They were closed during my other visits.

I don't think I've ever stayed in Chez Joey formore than 20 seconds before-just enough time to check out the dancers and then leave. Stopped by last week and saw some attractive girls and after I had a drink or two, I visited the bathroom and it and was really clean. Nicest on the block except maybe Hustler.

Decided to take Lita upstairs for 30 minutes. We had a large room to ourselves with locked door and there was a desk, huge TV, and a nice black leather sofa. She was very talented and enthusiastic. Right outside this room there is another bathroom upstairs with a shower.

Enjoyed myself so much I came back a few days later and took Melanie upstairs. She was also very accomodating and let me take a few pics. You can see in one of the pics that the shower upstairs has a full size window showing into the hallway.

I thought the bartender, Nicole (I think) was pretty nice.

Hit my usual Tuesday nite 2fer1 at MS and found my way into the LD area. Three times during two songs, a bright light comes on and the dancer across the way is illuminated. This evidently serves as a warning for too much contact. It also distracts the shit out of all the other dancers and customers in the area. And to top it off, on the third "lightable" offense, a raving lunatic (who doubles as the DJ) comes storming in and announces (in a whine) a $50 fine for so and so and then he turns on his heels like an SS stormtrooper and marches out.

Annoying. But kind of funny, since the girl getting fined was not half as "involved" as mine was (Gianna. 9-10 on S scale and worth every penny. No extras but a fine 20 minutes).

So, I went to scores for the first time tonight. And frankly I'm rather impressed. Great atmosphere. A classy joint. Had a private dance with a gorgeous brunette Russian as the place closed.

As I drove home I thought that I'd do an orbit of the block. But the cops decended upon it as I was passing by. They closed off the street; is that typical? Last time I hung out there it wasn't quite that late.

Yes, the Bal'more police playing nanny, hon. I've also swung by once or twice (late) , circled and circled, and realized that I was not even going to get close to the place. Then again, maybe it's better this way. All we need is for a fight to break out or someone get stabbed or shot, or whatever, and then the bad press will eventually close the Block down for good. I'm a right wing conservative, but even I don't want that to happen. . We should probably be happy they're keeping the peace.

It appears that at least two bars, Jewel Box downstairs and Chey Joey have followed Pussycat and Lust (the last two have the same owner BTW) and raised their drink prices to $25. Maybe more have, I don't buy drinks for dancers very often. At this rate, I think they will soon price themselves out of the market for the casual patron. For $5 more, I can get a lapdance from a girl who is way hotter at Scores. And as for take out, I have had great success without buying drinks. I think the club owners are being foolish and short-sighted. If I ran a club down there. I would put all the others out of business by having the best drink prices and the hottest girls. The dancers and the bar would make more money.

Many, many years ago I worked in Atlanta. The bus system was losing money and wanted to raise prices. Someone came up with the brilliant idea to reduce prices, and perhaps ridership would increase. Surprise, surprise: it did. The owners on the block may want to consider this option. I'm a long-time block visitor and the prices are driving a lot of us away.

I usually visit Tues afternoon, and I continually report my boring afternoons. I don't go to the block looking for 10's, but I do go for fun of some sort or another, and it's getting harder to find.

She justified it, saying that prices stayed the same for the last 20 years (really?) and implied that it was high time that there was an increase. Never mind that the economy is doing poorly, that people are out of work, that the cost of living is increasing while salaries are staying the same or even decreasing, and that $20. 00 drinks for dancers was already kinda steep, etc.

I'm not sure that dropping prices will bring guys back to the block, but raising them is undoubtedly keeping them away. I, for one, used to buy 3-4 drinks at $20. 00, spending $60-$80, without giving it much thought. But now at $25. 00, I tend to pass when asked (it's that extra 5 bucks that makes me think twice). It's not as fun, but at least I'm saving some money.

The owners apparently are too short-sighted, greedy, and or just plain disconnected from the mind-set of a typical customer to realize that they are shooting themselves in the foot. At least a couple of the clubs are more practical, keeping prices as they have been (Norma's being one) , and, with that, seem to have more customers at any given time than do other clubs. I'd hate to think that this may be the beginning of the end. But, if it is, then the the club owners will ultimately have been their own worst enemy.

Perhaps this selects against your strategy.[/QUOTE]The MidWay Bar on the Bloc is far cheaper place to get drinks and I can even afford to buy the girls a mixed drink for around $7. 00 expecially during change of shift or towards the end of the working day. I even find an occassional girl that is looking for extra cash. Just be patient and wait and they show up.

BTW dispite the reasonable priced drinks there are no armed guards to meet you at the door. So lowering prices does not require more security. Lowering prices means bigger tips for the girls and maybe that is what the owners are afraid of with less money for them.

I think it would behoove an owner to try out that strategy. Perhaps, by holding a special event.

I just liked the image of what's really a rather good idea back-firing in light of Baltimore's local character; that news of cheap booze and hot women would draw a swarm of human vermin to said place of business. People who destroy it for it's enlightened understanding of the market at large.
