My dream was so disappointing.

The issue is that law enforcement can (and has in the past) used information gathered on boards against both hobbyists and providers. Every poster that provides actual information has to weigh the desire to share knowledge against the risk of exposure of himself and his favorite providers. The 'collective we' have been burned enough so that we expect new posters to prove themselves by providing useful knowledge. I know this can come across as paranoid and exclusionary, but the number and quality of a member's posts are all we have to go by.
