I could use some advice. I've been chatting with a girl that wants me to pay for her babysitter in advance of meeting. That would be a complete no-go for me usually, I have never paid anyone anything in advance of meeting. But, for various reasons, she seems legit. If you really want to meet her, here is my suggestion - Pay for the Uber via your Uber App (or go picking her up if you can), then tell her when you two meet, you can give her the babysitter money in cash, so she can pay the babysitter via her App. All the current mobile payment apps (vimeo or zelle) inform the recipient quite a bit about the sender so they can ID who pays what.

But what kind of person is not even able to pay the babysitter after they get back?

Probably a dishonest one who nobody trusts. She will rip you off as well. I know from experience. Just next her and move on. If she is that desperate for money she will see you without an upfront payment, otherwise she's a scammer.

Given the current situation if your job is still safe rates are going to fall shortly.
