Instead of a couple dumbasses blasting a CL ad every once in a while, it would be very easy to just do the following:

Set up a program that looks at all new CL ads. Your program uses various servers to blast every single new ad placed, unless the person placing the ad got prior approval from you first.

They would know where to get prior approval (so that there new ad doesn't get blasted), because every once in a while you place a notice on CL explaining what to do if you do not want to get your ad immediately blasted. Which would be to get screened that your an independent non-scam. We could also use this mechanism to also limit the number of blacks and 'bbws'

Doing this would run the risk of CL getting rid of that category altogethor, since 90% of ads would be blasted by an 'abusive' user (and 100% at first until posters get use to the new system), but it would stop metro dead in its tracks however. So it's a reasonable risk.

What's to stop Metro from then blasting our occasiional notices about how to be screened? They won't care anymore, because they are completely locked out. They'll just move on. It's business to them, not personal.

First of all, what do you expect people who don't know how to google/yellow page the numbers use the list? Whenever you want to call somebody, going through the list everytime with naked eye or with eye glasses?! Typing in the number in any search engines of one's choice is a much easier method.

Talking about Metro, if the number aren't registered with Metro in the public records, how do you know it's Metro? I'm sure if they bother to hide their ugly tail, it's pretty easy. It's all about cost. My residential home number and my cell number are unlisted by choice. Not sure about business lines. But you can always tell each booking agent to go and get a personal cell plan under their own name on company expenses.

Metro is too narrow. There are a colorful range of agencies such as Midnight Oil Rubs. Also, any land line number is probably belong to the older well established network of rip-off agents working on LA express, OC register etc.

With number portability there is no longer a distinction between landlines and cell phones. With VOIP, a person can have one or more lines forwarded to another number and have multiple area code numbers routed to one source that is portable as long as there is access to a broadband connection. In addition, people change numbers so often now, unless you work for one of the Bells, much of the "free" number reverse searches are no longer accurate.

It is obvious that metro has a new license to post on CL more freely and it sucks for all of the legit providers / mongers out there. We are going to have to rely on what we do know for certain more than ever.

The LAPD does not care about people who get scammed out of money who were looking for something illegal to begin with. I don't know why you would think it's going to do any good to post their address and phone number as if the LAPD would ever do anything.

There are still some legit providers on CL and among us all someone has more than likely tried one of them. It's going to take even more sharing of information with one another as to who is actually legitimate, not those who aren't. It's probably pretty obvious to most people. But I just thought I'd add my 2**C*e**n*t***s to the discussion.

In case anyone hasn't noticed, alot of the "providers" will put something like:
"Dial four 2 six 3 eight..." or "Dial 8*1**82**7*3*2**3*1***2" in their posts.

This is to throw off people who Google. When you put the number into the search bar, put the number into the bar in the same format you would write your own number (in the case of the second example above: 818-273-2312).

Everyone's probably saying "no shit", but this is for the one guy out there who

In the beginning CL does not allow any contact information, phone number, website or email. But that is impossible to enforce. Funny that their search engine are like google that are pretty good at recognizing phone numbers. So if one want to hide their trail in CL, they have to delete their previous posts, or they write their number in some funny ways with words and puntuations. So the rule is simple, if the number is funny, they are ROB's.

About a month ago, CL tried to enforce the no contact rule. So all the numbers went funny. I had to write a number recognization program and feed the result to search engines. They only suceed in eliminating direct link to websites. Now they give up on their useless phone eliminator program. But people still post funny numbers just in case the post get rejected.

As a long time horn dog and pussy chaser, I've been tracking the CL "Erotic Services", "Casual Encounters" and "W4M" for long while now, and like with the rest of you, I've watched it deteriorate right before my eyes.

Back in the day it was a basic bulletin board, a neighborly thing for more or less regular (!) folks who wanted to hook up and receive a benefit in the process. There were a lot of the "benefactor" kind of requests, the lonely call for simple kink and very independent, part time "providers" looking to make ends meet from small seedy apartments in almost every neighborhood of LA.

RIGHT NOW, CL is not much more than a very COMMERCIAL classified section for----a few escort businesses, which are very often slick operations that fly in from other states with a few girls and set up in hotel for a few days of quick-nut, volume business, or there are the fake ads for "pay for porn websites" and then of course, last but not least, there are the scammers who post fake "Playmate" pictures to attract customers, then show up with some pock-marked crack ho, as well as the criminal "outcall" operations that rip you off by (1) taking your $$ and disappearing back into their car without providing a service or (2) take the money, then "upsell" by telling you the actual service will cost MUCH MORE than you agreed to.

Although there still are a few actual, independent, legitimate providers still on the site, it's a real time waster to sort through page after page of crap to find that one---and only if you're lucky!

Considering the current state of CL---Have you ever thought of the following:

1. Do not even call those pictures where the girl with the PERFECT BODY is wearing a cowboy hat and looks like it was taken in a photo studio with props and a backdrop.

2. Do not agree to "outcall" from a girl WITHOUT A PICTURE, or one that looks like Pamela Anderson's twin sister. She ain't coming to Reseda for a visit!

3. Call ONLY those who look like they were taken with a cheap digital camera in someone's messy bedroom and are "posed" awkwardly. Think: Could she look BETTER than this nasty picture? Ask yourself that question!

4. Call ONLY those who have been overlooked by Playboy and Playmate, but are totally ghetto fabulous. They are as hot as any magazine chick, but they don't have the main stream connections! Yet!

5. Or Call ONLY those ladies who look a lot like the ladies you've seen standing in line at Ralph's or Von's, but here with no clothes on!

I've followed these guidelines and although the pickin's is indeed slim and it does take TIME, I've had good experiences for NOT a whole lot of $$$ ($80-$150). I should say, I like the imperfect---the slightly thick chick or lady with legs like toothpicks. It's easy for me to avoid the model, "Barbie" types, in favor of a friendly home girl. I'd have to say the suction is always better. But hey, that's just me!
