I second that, or third that, or whatever,...
Welcome back, LL. You bean gone too long, amigo. (Yeah, I know, you never really left, in spirit, but you know what I mean.)
I'm giving things about 6 months, before the 'New York model' (hmmm, has a certain ring to it) establishes itself in the DC area. The closest thing to it are the Chinese Condos. Even with the down economy, this town just has too much 'available cash' for the AMPs [you]not[/you] to want to try for a piece of it. I'm guessing that one reason we had it so good in the '80s and '90s was because we had good role models in public office: Marion Barry and BJ Clinton (that stands for Bill Jefferson Clinton, btw). Nowadays, with Mr. Clean (Adrian Fenty) in office, and a gal at the head of the police department in DC, it's small wonder why things have changed a bit.
Anyway, welcome back. Great to see your posts on this board again.

P.S.. The. 2 crack ho wasn't from Vic's, by any chance, was it? : D
Sorry this "report" is on the wrong board, but it fit the topic. The situation in NYC is probably worse (for AMPs) than DC. That is why the F/S places are going "upscale" with nicer facilities that mimic an apartment. I think that may have something to do with plausible deniability? The place looks like an apartment shared by three girls and an old lady. The girls have a lot of boyfriends. LoveLOS
FINALLY! Someone ELSE understands....
Thank you LL for saying what I've been saying for quite some time now. I knew you understood all the while.
In DC, we've become cheap and the true talent goes elsewhere, especially in light of the extremely challenged environment in this city, and our inability (or unwillingness) to keep up with inflation.
If you want quality, you've got to pay for it...simple as that. You get what you PAY for. If you don't, you end up with substandard quality and service, or mamasan...
Spend a little time in other areas with an active community (and economies not as robust as ours) and you'll find that yes, while you pay slightly more, you get much better talent. And I don't mean paying substantially more, but just not the 1990-200X rate (which hasn't 'officially' changed in 20 years, mind you...what other industry do you see THAT happening in?).
So now we settle for 'the condo', for roughly the same cost as before and only a few dollars less than the rest of the industry in other areas. With no TS. The industry has adjusted to our unwillingness to keep up with inflation by reducing services. Hell, the TS in itself, depending on it's quality and technique, can be up to 1/3 to 1/2 of the experience! So, in order to keep costs essentially the same, we accept gutting a traditional and (in my opinion) important part of the experience.
Now part of the drought is the climate, agreed. However, for the right money, the industry has traditionally taken the risk of the climate in stride. We've seen these challenges often before and we've seen the industry always bounce back...before...but unfortunately not today. It's ultimately a matter of incentive.
Inflation hits all over. You've got to keep up with it. If you can't, you should suck it up and be willing to accept a 'regressed' scale of talent, or abandon the hobby altogether.
Look, I don't have money to nonchalantly burn any more than the next guy. And, the current fiscal climate strains all, myself included. However, times have changed. Those that are unwilling, or unable to keep up with the changes should look for other venues of recreation.
Honestly, I don't mean to sound pissy about this. But I've been saying this for a while, in some form or another, before all of the current crap went down. So many places are closed and have not reopened. Had there been a true 'incentive' for people to reopen in other places locally, they would have.
WE, didn't give it to them...
Not in DC, although Asian women keep well. Hot bodies, ugly faces; that is what doggie is for.
BTW-Just got back from Manhattan. $200 got me a queen size bed and a 19yo, 4'11" 85lb spinner. I had to ask her if either her, or her twin sister, had ever worked DC. Remember Tinkerbell?
Up there, most of the spas that offer F/S are networked by referrals and there is a two call system used. They give known clients a different number. And NO, if you have not been there before, you need to be escorted by a known client. It's how it works. Scorp may choose to escort you. Or not.
To that end, there is no TS, just a bathroom shower, but an nicer bed and a hotter doll-baby! BTW - Three therapists, all with proper qualifications. I took the spinner and Scoprio took a drop dead gorgeous 9.85678 on a scale of 10. What can I say, I'll never be lonely in the big apple again, and I think he enjoyed her...
I think, and almost hope, that is what the AMPs will do in DC. Survival of their businesses requires tighter security. It may pay to become a known senior member on this board. That network will be important as security is increased.
Bottom line; I spent $40 more than a DC spa. Every city has it's price, and the talent is outstanding. It's your $40, but don't whine when the hotties head back to Long Island.
OTOH; there was the crack ho I met in NJ...
$20BJ $40Sex $60Anal You figure that one out...

Rather Than Waste Resources Arguing...
...I hereby allow you to be wrong, blind, and generally off base.
If you really want to belive that we are driving the prices, feel free to do so but, again, I am all done with this topic and yield to your wrongness and hardheadness.
Now, Go do whatever it is you do and feel free to make your attempts at controling the pricing further.
There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
Over and out. NO MORE ON THIS SUBJECT. You have WON the right to be wrong.
First you have to get outside of your comfort zone.
(This means traveling) West Coast LA, Dallas
East Coast New York, Atlanta spend some time and talk to
the ladies you'll find out.
They're not doing this to find a boyfriend or for fun. They're
doing this to make money! Now in your profession whatever
that may be, if someone were to say you could make a lot
more money at so in so`s place with the same amount of customers.
It doesn't take rocket science I know where I'd be working!
Don't you find it strange that these higher priced condos
have much younger talent, then the five AMP`s in the DC area.
Look this economy is messed up, so if I'm going to spend
this kind of money I'd prefer to spend another 40 blucks
and get something much better to look at.
I know for a fact two years ago with excellent talent (Annie,Micky,Sarah,Tinkerbell,Jay) there was 90 customers
a day, now they're lucky to get 30 a day. Saturday before
last only 15 customers.
If people are struggling with money don't you think they would
want to get more for their efforts. These girls talk to each
other everyday, three things I hear how many customers,
how much do you make of house pay and how much is tip.
They get a percentage of the house fee and their tip. They
also have to pay for groceries, Cook Momma and mamasan
out of their money.
You can go to New York and Atlanta both and find a lot of
our lost All-Stars couple years older now pushing 26 through
30yrs old, the stories same there's no money & customers so
if I'm only going to get four to five visits a day I'm going to go
where the money is!
I'm sure as little girls growing up this is exactly what their
dreams were to be doing. I don't care what you say the bottom line is there in it for the money!

"Apartment" Incall Places
The Man, The Myth, The Legend LoveLOS Caused the Phosphor On My Monitor To Glow Thusly: "The situation in NYC is probably worse (for AMPS) than DC. That is why the F/S places are going "upscale" with nicer facilities that mimic an apartment."
Gentlemen of a certain age might remember that "apartment incall" was the norm for Manhattan in the early 80s. There were dozens of places all over the city, each with a handful of girls and a couple of bedrooms. They advertised in various print publications that could be purchased in the midtown porno establishments, such as Screw -- which was a tabloid newspaper. But to get the best gouge and reviews the wise hobbyist bought one of specialty magazines that tracked the scene for about $20.
I liked the Manhattan apartment incalls back in the Reagan Administration. The girls were passably hot and they provided a nice session in an upscale environment.
In D.C. there were a few apartment incall places, and if you looked hard enough at the ads in the City Paper you could find them. But the facilities were not as nice and the girls weren't as hot. Nobody cared because the street scene was so amazing back then.
As for the future of incall in D.C., I concur with those who think that a lower profile is likely. Seems to me the providers have a couple of options. If stealth is their main priority they can set up shop far outside the beltway in a garden condo. Rent would be cheap, parking would be plentiful and maximum discretion would be assured. The problem with that approach is that a large portion of the customer base is located in the central city -- affluent businessmen, visiting conventioneers and the like. And it's probably true that local law enforcement might be more strict.
An alternative would be to set up shop in the District, where the real estate boom has left the city awash in vacant condos and apartments. That would certainly be more convenient for the customers, and law enforcement might be more inclined to go easy if a low profile were maintained. On the other hand many of these buildings are high rises where it's more difficult for the girls and the customers to come and go without being detected. I think this problem could be overcome with careful selection of the location and daily effort to maintain stealth, and I predict this will be the wave of the future.
Dang, old-timer Bunky. I read about Reagan and 80s in the history books and learn about them in the museums. You mean you're still alive to talk about them here? And you still got it in you to be mongering?
What's your secret, grandpops? Viagra? j/k... Boy, I hope when I'm old, bald, grey and crinkley, and talking about the old days of Obama administration and the 00's decade, I'm still mongering like you.
D.C is still a nice nice place
Been a while since I have venture out. With the closing of 14k and the economy being bad. Went to one of the old spot and got some great service along with a new line up of girls. P. M me for more info (seniors only). Hope everyone understands, it's probably best for everyone's interest.
Be safe fellows!
A Visit to Vermont and Additional Thoughts
Edited
I visited Vermont recently (within 3. 5 weeks- I never post exact dates of my visits but the girl is still there and the experience will likely be the same for you as it was for me). My personal age falls within the range of 30-45. As most of you know, Vermont is a simple R&T establishment. Most people look down on this because they don't really care about the massage elements at all (or that much). Instead, they are there purely for as many extras as possible and that's fine. Many other people go just for a good massage and a good and safe finish (without needing or wanting many extras) and that is where I fall. One good thing about the limited menu is that Vermont is more immune to closing than other places that provide more. I imagine it will outlast several locations with less discretion.
The exact location of Vermont is not hard to find [search on this forum, keyword "Vermont" or on CL under keyword "Vermont"]. (202)628-1948 is the phone number. The location is very clean and very safe for D. C. There are two girls worth seeing there nowadays. Katie is the most reported on therapist on these forums and with good reason- she's more attractive than the other girls there (and younger). An hour is 80 and that seems pretty steep, but you can get away with either 40 or 60 for a tip (although they prefer 60). The massage there is usually better than Maryland locations (I. E. Silk, Lily's, BT etc.), 7 to 8 out of 10 depending on who you get. Transitions are by and large seamless without much discussion over tip (unlike Rainbow, for instance) and going top down is not unusual. It's their discretion whether or not they remove anything for you rather than a universal service. Finish is standard or Russian always and I have never asked for more.
It's a pretty simple location to describe as it is the stereotypical NoVa style R&T, except it's in D. C.
