I found myself in Hartford recently and decided to go check out the Art Cinema. I am still freaked out by the experience. The place is in a mixed neighborhood, next to a tattoo parlor. Cost is $12 to get in. It was around 5:30 so still plenty of sunshine outside. It took quite a while for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. The first thing I noticed but could not see was some rustling sound to my right in the last row. I finally ventured in, still not able to see, used the seats as a guide and sat down in the center of the theatre. I got to say I was a bit nervous not really knowing what was around me but I sat there and enjoyed the novelty of watching a porno on a large movie screen.

Eventually my eyes adjusted and I could make out about 4 or so silhouettes either in front of me or the side. No idea what was behind me. I could tell at least 1 of the silhouettes was a guy because he was near the aisle and seemed to be whacking off. So I know the place is hit / miss but heard couples come in from time to time. I do see two silhouttes sitting next to each other all the way up front, I'm now hoping one of them is a girl.

Freaky moment number 1: After about 10 minutes, the guy who was whacking off stands up and decides to sit right behind me. I sat there for a while but could not really enjoy the movie not knowing what this guy was up to. So I stand up and walk to the lobby.

Freaky Moment number 2. So I am still hoping at least 1 of the people in the theater is a girl so I go back in via the side aisle and sit where there is absolutely nobody around. I'm kind of enjoying the movie and have some wood rising when I hear some heavy breathing behind me. Look back and there a guy just standing there. WTF. I move again and decide to sit in the last row so I can see what the f. Uck is going on without someone sneaking up.

Freaky Moment number 3: A glimmer of hope as I see someone with a black dress enter the theater, she is having the same problems with her eyes so she decides to sit in the last row right across the aisle from me. Ok, things might get exciting. Nope. I look over and there is no way it was a girl. It was more like a middle linebacker wearing a really bad wig. The walking dead all make their way over to 'her' and she ushers them all away but 1 guy. They sat together for about 10 minutes feeling each other up and then leave. I got a better look at the linebacker as they left and it was definitely a dude in a skirt.

Freaky Moment number 4: Nobody has bothered me for a good 10 minutes and I'm enjoying the movie and wondering how could there could be so much dried cum on the back of the seat right in front of me. I now know the couple in the front row is a lost cause as each takes a turn going to the bathroom and they are both dudes. As I am watching the movie I see this old guy turn around, spot me and make his way towards me. I'm trying to look straight ahead but he keeps coming. I finally have to acknowledge that I see him and I give him the 'get the fuck away from me' signal, got up and got the heck out of there.

I spoke to the owner in the lobby and asked him when a better time for couples is, he didn't really give me a good answer. I did mention that I had read about cram pie Cathy and he said 'yeah that was a good time to come'. Thanks dude.

I tried to warn everyone new that's jumping on the Art bandwagon that it's not what they are pretending it will be in their daydreams and fantasies. It's 99. 9% creepy dudes, many homosexual. The term you use,"walking dead", made me laugh because it's pretty spot on. You may get lucky and see a few couples when you're there, but consider that a treat and not the norm.

From a reliable source, I have on good authority that the manager of the Art is the one putting fake ads on CL about couples / single females going there for shows, etc to drum up some business. Take it for what it's worth.

The Fairmont theatre in New Haven is just an awful place. Dirty & run down, and if the homosexual behavior at The Art puts you off, it would absolutely freak you out in New Haven.

I also doubt that The Art is posting bogus ads on CL. If you go you can ask whomever is behind the counter if there are any couples in the theater, and if they are upstairs or downstairs (downstairs couples are the ones who are more likely to play with the men). If nothing is going on, you don't have to buy a ticket and go in.

The reports are mostly correct. I stop in from time to time to try and get lucky and do about 25% of the time. Went last week and a couple walk in. Triple large black guy with a black girl with huge cans. They sit in the open row midway down and he is kissing and feeling her up and then leaves and sits somewhere else while she sits alone with her top off. Well the guys flocked to that like flys on you know what. She had three dudes at once and was taking all of them, while her man watched. That lasted about an hour and they left and so did I as then it was just dudes. This has happen before but most of the time it is just guys which I too am not into. However it is cool to get lucky in there because mostly its free. Always thought about picking up a S / W and going inside, anyone tried that?
