I guess I will call her FLSB3 since she was the third. It was a struggle trying to meet up with her. You think its a bad idea to flip the plates on the new car with the old plates for SB visits.
Now I understand that the old plates could still be tracked to me. But I am more worried about breaking any laws.
I would perhaps try this option after making sure it is not considered as a serious offense.

In some states, the plate stays w / the car. In others, the plate stays w / the person. California takes the former approach (unless it is a vanity plate. Obviously anathema for a SD). I also stripped every other distinguishing feature off my car when I began in the bowl, and of course remove my parking hangtag, radar detector, etc., every distinguishing feature, before I see a SB. I am looking forward to buying my next car for reasons I stated earlier. I'll get one of these little plastic packets of reg materials that I can hold onto long after I have my plates, so all I have to do to see a SB is take off my plate and stick the packet on the windshield. California also looks the other way for people who take off their front plate, as it is mostly for cosmetic reasons in this car-crazy place. It sure does come in handy that I don't have a second plate to worry about.

I didn't reply to a naysayer about this, but right - if LE has a plate scanner operating, it is presumably just recording location and plate, and matching w / plates that are of interest. I have no belief that these systems could possibly compare whether the plate matches the car. I do worry that the registration sticker on my fake plate isn't current / not the right color, and have considered getting some tape from a hobby shop that matches the current year. Of course it won't bear any close scrutiny. You're just trying to avoid catching the eye of the LE as he cruises by.
One other thing about this strategy involving the SB and LE: This is like the difference between offense and defense in football. Offense pretty much needs uniform high-level performance to succeed. If the running back slips down, that's a loss no matter how well the other 10 players did their jobs. Defense is the opposite. There are some risks common to both Escorts / SBs. No shows, extorsion, cash and dash, robbery, etc. There are some additional risks with SBs. Fatal attraction, jealousy, baby fever, looking for someone to take care of them for life, etc.

How do you go dormant on SA? I've been totally deactivating, and maybe getting on now and then, and going back inactive. Whenever I am on w / a paid membership, I am hidden from search, but I don't think this option is available when you aren't paid. I do this to minimize the risk of SO discovery, and also to avoid having my SBs know I am on there (though I don't have to deactivate to do this. I can and have just blocked them). I HAVE to go dormant. A month at a time of SA activity is all I can tolerate. I guess I have a tendency toward CDO (you know what that is right? It's like OCD, but in alphabetical order like it damn well ought to be), and my work and life can't take the time I spend contacting, MnG, and FCing w / the women I meet in that month. I don't usually deactivate, but block any prior SB's I don't want to know that I am active. Yes, they can create alternate profiles or search using a friend's account, but that's a reasonable risk for me.
I have noticed SB's often have friends on the site and compare notes extensively. I've had several say they know I'm also talking to one of their friends. So you never really know when your activity is being watched.
I happened to have few drinks last night with a buddy's buddy who is a ex-marine and currently works very closely with LE. Some of the things he revealed was very informative.
One, LE could not stop a car without a probable cause. One has to be speeding, or skipping a light or driving with expired plates. So, by eliminating the chances for LE to pull over one can minimize the chances of getting pulled over.
He even said that he knows of folks who are driving in plain sight with expired plates or no insurance for a very long time by basically just sticking to the right most lane, driving between cars and not speeding. LE in general stick to the faster lanes.
He also revealed that LE database is restricted to In-State and if someone is driving with a plate that is out of State LE has no way to verify the validity. Also, LE will not pull over that car unless there was a probable cause such as over-speeding.
While it is encouraging to know that the risk is minimal of getting pulled over driving with a out of State plates. It is also true that in the remote chance that one gets stopped over then, comparatively speaking, driving with old / expired plates is much less serious offense compared to driving with incorrect plates which is considered as committing fraud.
Yes. You could 'confess' to LE that you did that only to escape from a stalker SB but getting away from the car getting impounded or avoiding going to the court is squarely in the hands of the Cop.
Lastly, talking about new cars and CA state I'm reminded of Steve Jobs as to how he always used to drive around with no plates on his car. It was a mystery for several years and then they found out he was able to do so by leveraging on a CA law that allows for display of no plates for up to six months.

Sorry to hear that your 19 YO POT bailed out on you. Your story exactly mirrors one of my experiences with a 19 YO POT. Its usually better to over-communicate rather than under, especially for the first M&G.
